On August 26, around 40 members of the Daedeok-myeon New Village Men and Women’s Association (Council Chair Kang Seong-yeong, Women’s Association Chair Lee Chang-soon) participated in a large-scale cleaning in the Naeri area of Daedeok-myeon. This large-scale cleaning focused on collecting household waste abandoned in various parts of the city, focusing on roads and sidewalks where many residents pass, and on improving the environment through recycling.

Kang Seong-yeong, the chairman of the Saemaul Movement Council, said, “The Saemaul Movement Council members are actively working every year to create a clean and pleasant Daedeok-myeon. I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the members who actively participated despite the hot weather.”

Daedeok-myeon head Kim Jin-gwan also said, “I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the members of the Saemaul Men and Women’s Council who are working hard to keep Daedeok-myeon clean despite their busy schedules.”

In addition to environmental improvement activities, the Daedeok-myeon Saemaul Council is actively carrying out various volunteer activities such as collecting waste resources and sharing side dishes of love for the elderly and vulnerable groups. This general cleaning is one of them, and it plays an important role in improving the living environment of Daedeok-myeon residents and maintaining a pleasant environment in the local community.
