Inline Roller Team Wins 6 Medals in Eunpyeong-gu in Heat Wave

Eunpyeong-gu (District Mayor Kim Mi-kyung) announced that the inline roller team won a total of 6 medals, including 4 gold medals and 2 silver medals, at the 36th Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Cup National City/Province Inline Speed Competition.

The competition was held in Nonsan, South Chungcheong Province for four days from the 10th to the 13th.

Eunpyeong-gu inline roller Na Young-seo won gold medals in the women’s general P5,000m and EP10,000m events, and Bang Jo-yang won gold medals in the men’s general P5,000m and EP10,000m events. Lee In-hye won a silver medal in the women’s general 500m+D event, earning a total of five medals in individual events.

In the mixed team 1,600m event, Na Young-seo and Bang Jo-yang displayed teamwork and achieved a great result of winning a silver medal, so the Eunpyeong-gu inline roller team finished with top results in each event and overall results.

In this competition held in the scorching heat, many of the participating athletes were in poor condition and had difficulty performing as usual. Nevertheless, the Eunpyeong-gu team did their best in each individual event and achieved the feat of winning six medals, maintaining their top ranking.

Mayor Kim Mi-kyung said, “I am grateful to our team for winning medals despite the heat wave,” and added, “I hope that they will take better care of their physical strength in the hot weather and hear good news in the remaining games in the second half of the year, including the 105th National Sports Festival.”
