Incheon Metropolitan City Jung-gu Dowon-dong Community Social Security Council (Chairperson Park Young-ja) announced on August 22 that it had implemented a ‘mobile hair and beauty service’ for elderly people with limited mobility in the area.

This hair and beauty service was made possible with the help of talent donor Baek Se-jin, who visited the homes of senior citizens and provided a service to neatly style their hair. In addition, welfare counseling was provided to support senior citizens to experience various welfare services nearby.

One senior citizen who received the service that day said, “I feel light-hearted and happy because my hair was cut neatly and beautifully.”

Park Young-ja, the civilian chairperson of the Dowon-dong Community Social Security Council, said, “My heart warms every time I see seniors smiling brightly after receiving beauty services,” and added, “I am grateful to the volunteers who participated in donating their talents.”

Kim Do-kyung, the head of Dowon-dong, said, “I feel a sense of accomplishment when I periodically check on the well-being of the elderly and see them satisfied with the hair and beauty services they receive.” He added, “We will continue to do our best to become a community that takes care of its neighbors and practices the spirit of sharing.”

This ‘mobile hair and beauty service’ has been of great help to vulnerable elderly people and has become an opportunity to spread a warm culture of sharing in the local community.
