Promotion of Eunpyeong-gu Crowdfunding Project for Social Economy Activation

Eunpyeong-gu (District Mayor Kim Mi-kyung) announced that it will operate a dedicated ‘crowdfunding’ exhibition hall for social economy enterprises in Eunpyeong-gu until the 19th of next month, 2024.

‘Crowdfunding’ is a compound word of ‘crowd’ meaning the public and ‘funding’ meaning raising funds. It refers to a method of raising small amounts of money from the public through an online platform and providing rewards (products).

This dedicated exhibition hall operation was promoted to attract small-scale investments to companies that require initial capital such as prototype development and to strengthen the independence of companies. To this end, Eunpyeong-gu provided related education and individual consulting to participating companies so that they could prepare for smooth funding.

Crowdfunding was divided into the first and second rounds according to the company’s prototype production and reward supply period. The first reward item was an outdoor activity program participation ticket and an exercise starter kit, and the crowdfunding was conducted for two weeks from the 15th to the 26th of last month, exceeding the target amount by more than 100%.

The second reward items include ▲Woodworking One-Day Class Experience Ticket ▲Traditional Knot Bracelet ▲Cafe Ticket, etc., and can be viewed at the Eunpyeong-gu Crowdfunding Exhibition Hall (http://www.ohmycompany.com) until the 19th of next month.

Eunpyeong-gu District Mayor Kim Mi-kyung said, “I hope this project will serve as an opportunity for social economy enterprises in the district to develop new distribution channels and increase their independence,” and added, “I hope that in the future, local social economy enterprises will experience the expansion of the online market and continue to develop products to increase their brand value and competitiveness.”
