2024 Bucheon B-Boying & K-Dance Festival to be held with world B-Boys

The ‘2024 Bucheon B-Boying & K-Dance Festival ‘World B-Boys’ hosted by Bucheon Cultural Foundation (CEO Han Byung-hwan) will be held on September 28th and 29th at Bucheon City Hall Lawn Square and a nearby car-free street. This event is Bucheon City’s representative cultural event, and will be a stage where B-boys and K-dance enthusiasts from all over the world can come together. All event participants can enter for free, and the Performance Championship will be held on September 28th, and the International Breaking Championship will be held on the 29th.

Currently recruiting contestants for the competition, there are five categories to recruit: All-Star Performance, Breaking Battle Solo, Crew Battle, B-Girl Battle, and Kids Battle. Applications are open until September 9th, and this festival is open to everyone who loves B-boying and K-dance.

The All-Star Performance Competition on September 28th is only open to teams of 5 to 10 people, and the submitted videos will be pre-screened, and the teams with the highest scores will advance to the finals. The competition will feature a variety of celebratory performances by Pinky Chicks led by Korea’s top choreographer Jay Black, Street Woman Fighter 2 winner Bebe, and 2023 World Of Dance LA winners TokTok Crew and Climax Crew.

On September 29th, the event will begin with a spectacular celebratory performance by MB CREW, followed by the 1vs1 Breaking Solo Battle finals with 12 overseas invited guests and 4 contestants who passed the preliminaries. There will also be a B-Girl 1vs1 Battle with overseas guests invited, and a Kids Breaking Battle that all contestants born between 2007 and 2017 can apply for. In particular, the 5vs5 Crew Battle is expected to capture the audience’s attention with even more splendid techniques and dynamic movements.

The total prize money for the festival is 40 million won, and the first place in the All-Star Performance category will receive 7 million won and the second place will receive 3 million won. In the Breaking Battle Solo category, the first place will receive 7 million won and the second place will receive 3 million won, and in the Crew Battle category, the first place will receive 10 million won and the second place will receive 5 million won. In the B-Girl category, the first place will receive 2 million won and the second place will receive 1 million won, and in the Kids category, the first place will receive 1 million won, the second place will receive 500,000 won, and the third and fourth place will receive 250,000 won each.

During the two days of the event, various experience programs such as one-time tattoos and hair styling will be held on the car-free streets, and on the 28th, a K-pop random play dance that anyone can participate in will be held.
