On June 10, 2025, the “2025 Hanbok Festival” will take place at the outdoor stage of WMU Buron Valley in Buron-myeon, Wonju City, Gangwon Province. More than just a cultural celebration, this event is a humanitarian project designed to raise funds for victims who lost their homes to devastating wildfires. The festival will highlight the elegance of royal Hanbok and share a global message of peace and solidarity.

Sponsored by the World Miss University (WMU) International Organizing Committee and hosted by the Korean Organizing Committee of the World Senior Peace Ambassadors, the festival is a collaborative initiative between the World University Peace Corps and the World Senior Peace Ambassadors. Notably, the festival serves as a key preliminary event for the final selection of the Korean representatives in the upcoming “World Senior Peace Ambassadors Finals” scheduled for December 20, 2025.

Starting at 5 PM, the event will feature a spectacular Hanbok parade and a rich program of cultural performances designed to deliver messages of peace. With the cooperation of the K-Royal Hanbok Association, the festival will showcase the timeless beauty of royal Hanbok, offering attendees an immersive experience of Korea’s traditional aesthetic.

Beyond a cultural display, the festival is recognized as a meaningful humanitarian occasion that promotes intergenerational and cross-cultural unity. Participants from around the world will gather to demonstrate their support for global peace and solidarity, reinforcing the importance of helping communities recover from disaster.

To participate, applicants must submit an application form along with a self-introduction video (under 1 minute) via email by May 10, 2025. The submitted videos will be evaluated through an online vote, with only the top 20 advancing to the finals in December. Applications should be sent to kmhsado@naver.com, and inquiries can be made to Designer Kim Young-ja (010-8598-3003) or WMU representative (010-8348-0810).
