라스베이거스에서 열린 IMEX America 2024(10월 9일)에서 싱가포르 전시컨벤션국(SECB)은 지속 가능성과 탈탄소화를 핵심으로 하는 혁신적인 파빌리온을 선보이며, 행사의 지속 가능성을 위한 싱가포르의 확고한 의지를 보여주었다. 이번 파빌리온은 지속 가능한 자재와 설계 방식을 반영해 부스 관련 배출량을 45% 줄이며, 친환경적인 이벤트 관리에 대한 싱가포르의 장기적인 노력을 입증했다.
At IMEX America 2024(9 Oct.), held in Las Vegas, the Singapore Exhibition and Convention Bureau (SECB) unveiled an innovative Pavilion that showcases Singapore’s dedication to sustainability and decarbonization in the events industry. As the first of its kind, the Singapore Pavilion incorporates sustainable materials and design choices, reducing booth emissions by 45% and demonstrating Singapore’s long-term commitment to environmentally responsible event management.

이 파빌리온은 카펫 사용을 75% 줄이고, 에너지 효율성을 높이기 위해 LED 조명을 사용했으며, 순환 경제 원칙에 맞춰 OSB(Oriented Strand Board)로 제작된 재사용 가능한 가구를 도입하는 등 친환경적인 접근 방식을 반영했다. 또한 SECB는 부스와 관련된 모든 탄소 배출량을 제3자와 함께 모니터링하고, 여행 및 식재료 등에서 수집한 데이터를 활용해 지속 가능성 전략을 지속적으로 개선할 계획이다. 이러한 종합적인 노력은 싱가포르를 지속 가능한 행사 솔루션의 모델로 자리 잡게 했으며, MICE 지속 가능 로드맵과 싱가포르 그린 플랜 2030의 목표와 일치한다.
The Pavilion’s eco-forward approach features a 75% reduction in carpeting, LED lighting for energy efficiency, and reusable furniture made from oriented strand board, aligning with circular economy principles. SECB also conducted third-party monitoring of all booth-related carbon emissions, covering travel, materials, and dietary options to continually improve sustainability practices. This comprehensive effort positions Singapore as a model for sustainable event solutions, showcasing its dedication to both the MICE Sustainability Roadmap and the Singapore Green Plan 2030.
SECB, 글로벌 이벤트 산업에서의 영향력을 강화
행사장을 넘어 지속 가능한 미션을 확장한 SECB는 SITE(국제 인센티브 여행 협회)와 함께 SITE Nite North America를 공동 개최하며, 네바다 지역 자선 단체를 위한 기금을 모았다. 또한 SECB는 미국 협회 경영 협회(ASAE)와 협력하여 국제 회의 전략에 대한 가이드를 제공하는 ASAE 국제 회의 인사이트 브리프를 발표하며 글로벌 이벤트 산업에서의 영향력을 강화했다.
Expanding its sustainable mission beyond the tradeshow floor, SECB co-hosted SITE Nite North America alongside the Society of Incentive Travel Executives, raising funds for local Nevada charities and reinforcing Singapore’s standing as an impactful global player in the events sector. SECB further collaborated with the American Society of Association Executives to present the ASAE Insight Brief on International Meetings, offering associations guidance for strategic international event planning.
