잠언 1장 (Proverbs Chapter 1)

1 mishlei מִשְׁלֵ֥י proverbs-of shlomo שְׁלֹמֹ֥ה Solomon ben בֶן־ son-of david דָּוִ֑ד David melech מֶ֣לֶךְ king-of yisrael יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ Israel

1The proverbs of Solomon the son of David, king of Israel;

1다윗의 아들 이스라엘 왕 솔로몬의 잠언이라

2 lada’at לָדַ֣עַת to-know chochma חָכְמָ֣ה wisdom u-musar וּמוּסָ֑ר and-instruction l-havin לְ֝הָבִ֗ין to-perceive imrei אִמְרֵ֥י words-of bina בִינָֽה׃ understanding

2To know wisdom and instruction; to perceive the words of understanding;

2이는 지혜와 훈계를 알게 하며 명철의 말씀을 깨닫게 하며

3 laqachat לָ֭קַחַת to-receive musar מוּסַ֣ר instruction haskeil הַשְׂכֵּ֑ל of-prudence tzedeq צֶ֥דֶק justice u-mishpat וּ֝מִשְׁפָּ֗ט and-judgment u-meisharim וּמֵישָׁרִֽים׃ and-equity

3To receive the instruction of wisdom, justice, and judgment, and equity;

3지혜롭게, 의롭게, 공평하게, 정직하게 행할 일에 대하여 훈계를 받게 하며

4 latet לָתֵ֣ת to-give li-p’tayim לִפְתָאיִ֣ם to-simple-ones arma עָרְמָ֑ה prudence l-na’ar לְ֝נַ֗עַר to-young-man da’at דַּ֣עַת knowledge u-m’zimma וּמְזִמָּֽה׃ and-discretion

4To give subtlety to the simple, to the young man knowledge and discretion.

4어리석은 자를 슬기롭게 하며 젊은 자에게 지식과 근신함을 주기 위한 것이니

5 yishma יִשְׁמַ֣ע let-hear chacham חָ֭כָם wise-man v-yosef וְי֣וֹסֶף and-increase leqach לֶ֑קַח learning v-navon וְ֝נָב֗וֹן and-understanding-one tachbulot תַּחְבֻּל֥וֹת wise-counsels yiqne יִקְנֶֽה׃ let-attain

5A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain to wise counsels:

5지혜 있는 자는 듣고 학식이 더할 것이요 명철한 자는 지략을 얻을 것이라

6 l-havin לְהָבִ֣ין to-understand mashal מָ֭שָׁל proverb u-m’litza וּמְלִיצָ֑ה and-interpretation divrei דִּבְרֵ֥י words-of chachamim חֲכָמִ֥ים wise-men v-chidotam וְחִידֹתָֽם׃ and-their-riddles

6To understand a proverb, and the interpretation; the words of the wise, and their dark sayings.

6잠언과 비유와 지혜 있는 자의 말과 그 오묘한 말을 깨달으리라

7 yir’at יִרְאַ֣ת fear-of YHVH יְ֭הוָה LORD reishit רֵאשִׁ֣ית beginning-of da’at דָּ֑עַת knowledge chochma חָכְמָ֥ה wisdom u-musar וּ֝מוּסָ֗ר and-instruction evilim אֱוִילִ֥ים fools bazu בָּֽזוּ׃ despise

7The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

7여호와를 경외하는 것이 지식의 근본이거늘 미련한 자는 지혜와 훈계를 멸시하느니라

8 sh’ma שְׁמַ֣ע hear b’ni בְּ֭נִי my-son musar מוּסַ֣ר instruction-of avicha אָבִ֑יךָ your-father v-al וְאַל־ and-not titosh תִּ֝טֹּ֗שׁ forsake torat תּוֹרַ֥ת law-of immecha אִמֶּֽךָ׃ your-mother

8My son, hear the instruction of your father, and forsake not the law of your mother:

8내 아들아 네 아비의 훈계를 들으며 네 어미의 법을 떠나지 말라

9 ki כִּ֤י for livyat לִוְיַ֥ת wreath-of chen חֵ֗ן grace heim הֵ֭ם they l-roshecha לְרֹאשֶׁ֑ךָ to-your-head va-anaqim וַ֝עֲנָקִ֗ים and-chains l-garg’rotecha לְגַרְגְּרֹתֶֽיךָ׃ to-your-neck

9For they shall be an ornament of grace to your head, and chains about your neck.

9이는 네 머리의 아름다운 관이요 네 목의 금 사슬이니라

10 b’ni בְּנִ֡י my-son im אִם־ if y’fattucha יְפַתּ֥וּךָ entice-you chata’im חַ֝טָּאִ֗ים sinners al אַל־ not tove תֹּבֵֽא׃ consent

10My son, if sinners entice you, consent not.

10내 아들아 악한 자가 너를 꾈지라도 따르지 말라

11 im אִם־ if yom’ru יֹאמְרוּ֮ they-say l’cha לְכָ֪ה come ittanu אִ֫תָּ֥נוּ with-us ne’erva נֶאֶרְבָ֥ה let-us-lie-in-wait l-dam לְדָ֑ם for-blood nitz’p’na נִצְפְּנָ֖ה let-us-hide l-naqi לְנָקִ֣י for-innocent chinnam חִנָּֽם׃ without-cause

11If they say, Come with us, let us lay wait for blood, let us lurk secretly for the innocent without cause:

11그들이 네게 말하기를 우리와 함께 가자 우리가 가만히 엎드렸다가 사람의 피를 흘리자 죄 없는 자를 까닭 없이 숨어 기다리다가

12 nivla’eim נִ֭בְלָעֵם let-us-swallow-them kish’ol כִּשְׁא֣וֹל like-Sheol chayyim חַיִּ֑ים alive u-t’mimim וּ֝תְמִימִ֗ים and-whole k-yor’dei כְּי֣וֹרְדֵי like-going-down vor בֽוֹר׃ pit

12Let us swallow them up alive as the grave; and whole, as those that go down into the pit:

12음부같이 그들을 산 채로 삼키며 무덤에 내려가는 자들같이 통으로 삼키자

13 kol כָּל־ all hon ה֣וֹן wealth yaqar יָקָ֣ר precious nimtza נִמְצָ֑א we-shall-find n’male נְמַלֵּ֖א we-shall-fill vatteinu בָתֵּ֣ינוּ our-houses shalal שָׁלָֽל׃ spoil

13We shall find all precious substance, we shall fill our houses with spoil:

13우리가 온갖 보화를 얻으며 빼앗은 것으로 우리 집을 채우리니

14 goralcha גּוֹרָ֣לְךָ your-lot tappil תַּפִּ֣יל cast b-tochenu בְּתוֹכֵ֑נוּ among-us kis כִּ֥יס purse echad אֶ֝חָ֗ד one yihye יִהְיֶ֥ה shall-be l-chullanu לְכֻלָּֽנוּ׃ to-all-of-us

14Cast in your lot among us; let us all have one purse:

14너는 우리와 함께 제비를 뽑고 우리가 함께 전대 하나만 두자 할지라도

15 b’ni בְּנִ֗י my-son al אַל־ not telech תֵּלֵ֣ךְ walk b-derech בְּדֶ֣רֶךְ in-way ittam אִתָּ֑ם with-them m’na מְנַ֥ע refrain raglecha רַ֝גְלְךָ֗ your-foot min’tivotam מִנְּתִיבָתָֽם׃ from-their-path

15My son, walk not in the way with them; refrain your foot from their path:

15내 아들아 그들과 함께 길에 다니지 말라 네 발을 금하여 그 길을 밟지 말라

16 ki כִּ֣י for ragleihem רַ֭גְלֵיהֶם their-feet la-ra לָרַ֣ע to-evil yarutzu יָר֑וּצוּ run viy’maharu וִֽ֝ימַהֲר֗וּ and-they-make-haste lishpoch לִשְׁפָּךְ־ to-shed dam דָּֽם׃ blood

16For their feet run to evil, and make haste to shed blood.

16대저 그 발은 악으로 달려가며 피를 흘리는 데 빠름이니라

17 ki כִּֽי־ surely chinnam חִ֭נָּם in-vain m’zora מְזֹרָ֣ה is-spread ha-reshet הָרָ֑שֶׁת the-net b-einei בְּ֝עֵינֵ֗י in-sight-of chol כָל־ any ba’al בַּ֥עַל owner-of kanaf כָּנָֽף׃ wing

17Surely in vain the net is spread in the sight of any bird.

17무릇 새가 보는 데서 그물을 치면 헛일이겠거늘

18 v-hem וְ֭הֵם and-they l-damam לְדָמָ֣ם for-their-blood ye’erovu יֶאֱרֹ֑בוּ lie-in-wait yitz’p’nu יִ֝צְפְּנ֗וּ they-lurk-secretly l-nafshotam לְנַפְשֹׁתָֽם׃ for-their-lives

18And they lay wait for their own blood; they lurk secretly for their own lives.

18그들은 자기의 피를 흘릴 것을 엎드려 기다리며 자기의 생명을 해하려고 잠복하니

19 ken כֵּ֗ן so orchot אָ֭רְחוֹת ways-of kol כָּל־ every botzea בֹּ֣צֵֽעַ greedy-of batza בָּ֑צַע gain et אֶת־ [obj] nefesh נֶ֖פֶשׁ life-of b’alav בְּעָלָ֣יו its-owners yiqqach יִקָּֽח׃ it-takes

19So are the ways of every one that is greedy of gain; which takes away the life of its owners.

19이익을 탐하는 모든 자의 길은 다 이러하여 자기의 생명을 잃게 하느니라

20 chochmot חָ֭כְמוֹת wisdom ba-chutz בַּח֣וּץ in-street taronna תָּרֹ֑נָּה cries ba-r’chovot בָּ֝רְחֹב֗וֹת in-public-squares titten תִּתֵּ֥ן she-utters qolah קוֹלָֽהּ׃ her-voice

20Wisdom cries outside; she utters her voice in the streets:

20지혜가 길거리에서 부르며 광장에서 소리를 높이며

21 b-rosh בְּרֹ֥אשׁ at-head-of homiyyot הֹמִיּ֗וֹת noisy-places tiqra תִּ֫קְרָ֥א she-cries b-fitchei בְּפִתְחֵ֖י at-openings-of sh’arim שְׁעָרִ֥ים gates ba-ir בָּעִ֗יר in-city amareha אֲמָרֶ֥יהָ her-words tomer תֹאמֵֽר׃ she-speaks

21She cries in the chief place of concourse, in the openings of the gates: in the city she utters her words, saying,

21시끄러운 길머리에서 소리를 지르며 성문 어귀와 성중에서 그 말을 발표하여 이르되

22 ad עַד־ how matay מָתַ֣י long p’tayim פְּתָיִם֮ simple-ones te’havu תְּֽאֵהֲב֫וּ will-you-love feti פֶ֥תִי simplicity v-letzim וְלֵצִ֗ים and-scorners latzon לָ֭צוֹן scorning chamdu חָמְד֣וּ delight lahem לָהֶ֑ם for-themselves uch’silim וּ֝כְסִילִ֗ים and-fools yis’nu יִשְׂנְאוּ־ hate da’at דָֽעַת׃ knowledge

22How long, you simple ones, will you love simplicity? and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge?

22너희 어리석은 자들은 어리석음을 좋아하며 거만한 자들은 거만을 기뻐하며 미련한 자들은 지식을 미워하니 어느 때까지 하겠느냐

23 tashuvu תָּשׁ֗וּבוּ turn l-tochachti לְֽת֫וֹכַחְתִּ֥י at-my-reproof hinne הִנֵּ֤ה behold abbia אַבִּ֣יעָה I-will-pour-out lachem לָכֶ֣ם to-you ruchi רוּחִ֑י my-spirit odia אוֹדִ֖יעָה I-will-make-known d’varay דְבָרַ֣י my-words etchem אֶתְכֶֽם׃ to-you

23Turn at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit to you, I will make known my words to you.

23나의 책망을 듣고 돌이키라 보라 내가 나의 영을 너희에게 부어 주며 내 말을 너희에게 보이리라

24 ya’an יַ֣עַן because qarati קָ֭רָאתִי I-have-called vat’maenu וַתְּמָאֵ֑נוּ and-you-refused natiti נָטִ֥יתִי I-stretched-out yadi יָ֝דִ֗י my-hand v-ein וְאֵ֣ין and-no-one maqshiv מַקְשִֽׁיב׃ regarded

24Because I have called, and you refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded;

24내가 불렀으나 너희가 거절하였고 내가 손을 폈으나 돌아보는 자가 없었고

25 vattifr’u וַתִּפְרְע֥וּ and-you-have-set-at-nought chol כָל־ all atzati עֲצָתִ֑י my-counsel v-tochachti וְ֝תוֹכַחְתִּ֗י and-my-reproof lo לֹ֣א not avitem אֲבִיתֶֽם׃ you-would

25But you have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof:

25도리어 나의 모든 교훈을 멸시하며 나의 책망을 받지 아니하였은즉

26 gam גַּם־ also ani אֲ֭נִי I b-eidchem בְּאֵידְכֶ֣ם at-your-calamity es’chaq אֶשְׂחָ֑ק will-laugh el’ag אֶ֝לְעַ֗ג I-will-mock b-vo בְּבֹ֣א when-comes pachd’chem פַחְדְּכֶֽם׃ your-fear

26I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear comes;

26너희가 재앙을 만날 때에 내가 웃을 것이며 너희에게 두려움이 임할 때에 내가 비웃으리라

27 b-vo בְּבֹ֤א when-comes k-sha’ava כְשַׁאֲוָ֨ה like-desolation pachd’chem פַּחְדְּכֶ֗ם your-fear v-eidchem וְֽ֭אֵידְכֶם and-your-calamity k-sufa כְּסוּפָ֣ה like-whirlwind ye’ete יֶאֱתֶ֑ה comes b-vo בְּבֹ֥א when-comes aleichem עֲ֝לֵיכֶ֗ם upon-you tzara צָרָ֥ה distress v-tzuqa וְצוּקָֽה׃ and-anguish

27When your fear comes as desolation, and your destruction comes as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish come upon you.

27너희의 두려움이 광풍 같이 이르며 너희의 재앙이 폭풍 같이 이르며 너희에게 근심과 슬픔이 임할 때에

28 az אָ֣ז then yiqra’unni יִ֭קְרָאֻנְנִי they-shall-call-upon-me v-lo וְלֹ֣א but-not e’ene אֶֽעֱנֶ֑ה I-will-answer y’shacharunni יְ֝שַׁחֲרֻ֗נְנִי they-shall-seek-me-early v-lo וְלֹ֣א but-not yimtza’unni יִמְצָאֻֽנְנִי׃ they-shall-find-me

28Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me:

28그 때에 너희가 나를 부르리라 그래도 내가 대답하지 아니하겠고 부지런히 나를 찾으리라 그래도 나를 만나지 못하리니

29 tachat תַּ֭חַת because ki כִּי־ that san’u שָׂנְא֣וּ they-hated da’at דָ֑עַת knowledge v-yir’at וְיִרְאַ֥ת and-fear-of YHVH יְ֝הוָ֗ה LORD lo לֹ֣א not vacharu בָחָֽרוּ׃ they-did-choose

29For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD:

29대저 너희가 지식을 미워하며 여호와 경외하기를 즐거워하지 아니하며

30 lo לֹא־ not avu אָב֥וּ they-would la-atzati לַעֲצָתִ֑י my-counsel na’atzu נָ֝אֲצ֗וּ they-despised kol כָּל־ all tochachti תּוֹכַחְתִּֽי׃ my-reproof

30They would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof.

30나의 교훈을 받지 아니하고 나의 모든 책망을 업신여겼음이니라

31 v-yochlu וְֽ֭יֹאכְלוּ therefore-shall-they-eat mip’ri מִפְּרִ֣י of-fruit-of darkam דַרְכָּ֑ם their-way u-mimmo’atzoteihem וּֽמִמֹּעֲצֹ֖תֵיהֶ֣ם and-with-their-devices yisba’u יִשְׂבָּֽעוּ׃ be-filled

31Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices.

31그러므로 자기 행위의 열매를 먹으며 자기 꾀에 배부르리라

32 ki כִּ֤י for m’shuvat מְשׁוּבַ֣ת turning-away-of p’tayim פְּתָיִ֣ם simple-ones tahargem תַּֽהַרְגֵ֑ם shall-slay-them v-shalvat וְשַׁלְוַ֖ת and-prosperity-of k’silim כְּסִילִ֣ים fools t’abdem תְּאַבְּדֵֽם׃ shall-destroy-them

32For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them.

32어리석은 자의 퇴보는 자기를 죽이며 미련한 자의 안일은 자기를 멸망시키려니와

33 v-shomea וְשֹׁמֵ֣עַֽ but-whoever-listens li לִ֭י to-me yishkon יִשְׁכָּן־ shall-dwell betach בֶּ֑טַח safely v-sha’anan וְ֝שַׁאֲנַ֗ן and-shall-be-quiet mippachad מִפַּ֥חַד from-fear-of ra’a רָעָֽה׃ evil

33But whoever listens to me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil.

33오직 내 말을 듣는 자는 평안히 살며 재앙의 두려움이 없이 안전하리라
