잠언 11장 (Proverbs Chapter 11)

1 mo’znei מֹאזְנֵי balances-of mirma מִרְמָה deceit to’avat תּוֹעֲבַת abomination-of YHVH יְהוָה LORD v-even וְאֶבֶן but-weight sh’leima שְׁלֵמָה perfect r’tzono רְצוֹנוֹ׃ his-delight

1A false balance is abomination to the LORD: but a just weight is his delight.

1속이는 저울은 여호와께서 미워하시나 공평한 추는 그가 기뻐하시느니라

2 ba בָּא comes zadon זָדוֹן pride va-yavo וַיָּבֹא then-comes qalon קָלוֹן shame v-et וְאֶת but-with tz’nu’im צְנוּעִים humble chochma חָכְמָה׃ wisdom

2When pride comes, then comes shame: but with the lowly is wisdom.

2교만이 오면 욕도 오거니와 겸손한 자에게는 지혜가 있느니라

3 tumat תֻּמַּת integrity-of y’sharim יְשָׁרִים upright tancheim תַּנְחֵם guides-them v-selef וְסֶלֶף but-perverseness-of bog’dim בֹּגְדִים treacherous y’shadem יְשָׁדֵּם׃ destroys-them

3The integrity of the upright shall guide them: but the perverseness of transgressors shall destroy them.

3정직한 자의 성실은 자기를 인도하거니와 사악한 자의 패역은 자기를 망하게 하느니라

4 lo לֹא not yo’il יוֹעִיל profits hon הוֹן wealth b-yom בְּיוֹם in-day-of evra עֶבְרָה wrath u-tz’daqa וּצְדָקָה but-righteousness tatzil תַּצִּיל delivers mi-mavet מִמָּוֶת׃ from-death

4Riches profit not in the day of wrath: but righteousness delivers from death.

4재물은 진노하시는 날에 무익하나 공의는 죽음에서 건지느니라

5 tzidqat צִדְקַת righteousness-of tamim תָּמִים perfect t’yasher תְּיַשֵּׁר directs darko דַּרְכּוֹ his-way u-v’rish’ato וּבְרִשְׁעָתוֹ but-by-his-wickedness yipol יִפֹּל falls rasha רָשָׁע׃ wicked

5The righteousness of the perfect shall direct his way: but the wicked shall fall by his own wickedness.

5완전한 자의 공의는 자기의 길을 곧게 하려니와 악인은 자기의 악으로 말미암아 넘어지리라

6 tzidqat צִדְקַת righteousness-of y’sharim יְשָׁרִים upright tatzilem תַּצִּילֵם delivers-them u-v’havat וּבְהַוַּת but-in-desire-of bog’dim בֹּגְדִים treacherous yilachdu יִלָּכֵדוּ׃ are-taken

6The righteousness of the upright shall deliver them: but transgressors shall be taken in their own naughtiness.

6정직한 자의 공의는 자기를 건지려니와 사악한 자는 자기의 악에 잡히리라

7 b-mot בְּמוֹת in-death-of adam אָדָם man rasha רָשָׁע wicked tovad תֹּאבַד perishes tiqva תִּקְוָה hope v-tochelet וְתוֹחֶלֶת and-expectation-of onim אוֹנִים strength avada אָבָדָה׃ perishes

7When a wicked man dies, his expectation shall perish: and the hope of unjust men perishes.

7악인이 죽을 때에 그 소망이 끊어지나니 불의의 소망이 없어지느니라

8 tzaddiq צַדִּיק righteous mi-tzara מִצָּרָה from-trouble nechelatz נֶחֱלָץ is-delivered va-yavo וַיָּבֹא and-comes rasha רָשָׁע wicked tachtav תַּחְתָּיו׃ in-his-stead

8The righteous is delivered out of trouble, and the wicked comes in his stead.

8의인은 환난에서 구원을 받으나 악인은 자기의 길로 가느니라

9 b-fe בְּפֶה with-mouth chanef חָנֵף hypocrite yashchit יַשְׁחִת destroys re’ehu רֵעֵהוּ his-neighbor u-v’da’at וּבְדַעַת but-through-knowledge tzaddiqim צַדִּיקִים righteous yechaletzu יֵחָלֵצוּ׃ are-delivered

9A hypocrite with his mouth destroys his neighbor: but through knowledge shall the just be delivered.

9악인은 입으로 그의 이웃을 망하게 하여도 의인은 그의 지식으로 말미암아 구원을 얻느니라

10 b-tuv בְּטוּב in-good-of tzaddiqim צַדִּיקִים righteous ta’alotz תַּעֲלֹץ rejoices qirya קִרְיָה city u-va’avod וּבַאֲבֹד and-when-perish r’sha’im רְשָׁעִים wicked rinna רִנָּה׃ shouting

10When it goes well with the righteous, the city rejoices: and when the wicked perish, there is shouting.

10의인이 형통하면 성읍이 즐거워하고 악인이 패망하면 기뻐 외치느니라

11 b-virkat בְּבִרְכַּת by-blessing-of y’sharim יְשָׁרִים upright tarum תָּרוּם is-exalted qaret קָרֶת city u-v’fi וּבְפִי but-by-mouth-of r’sha’im רְשָׁעִים wicked tehares תֵּהָרֵס׃ is-overthrown

11By the blessing of the upright the city is exalted: but it is overthrown by the mouth of the wicked.

11성읍은 정직한 자의 축복으로 인하여 진흥하고 악한 자의 입으로 말미암아 무너지느니라

12 baz בָּז despises l-re’ehu לְרֵעֵהוּ his-neighbor chasar חֲסַר lacking lev לֵב heart v-ish וְאִישׁ but-man-of t’vunot תְּבוּנוֹת understanding yacharish יַחֲרִישׁ׃ holds-his-peace

12He that is void of wisdom despises his neighbor: but a man of understanding holds his peace.

12지혜 없는 자는 그의 이웃을 멸시하나 명철한 자는 잠잠하느니라

13 holech הוֹלֵךְ goes-about rachil רָכִיל talebearer m’gale מְגַלֶּה reveals sod סּוֹד secrets v-ne’eman וְנֶאֱמַן but-faithful ruach רוּחַ spirit m’chase מְכַסֶּה conceals davar דָבָר׃ matter

13A talebearer reveals secrets: but he that is of a faithful spirit conceals the matter.

13두루 다니며 한담하는 자는 남의 비밀을 누설하나 마음이 신실한 자는 그런 것을 숨기느니라

14 b-ein בְּאֵין without tachbulot תַּחְבֻּלוֹת counsel yipol יִפָּל falls am עָם people u-t’shu’a וּתְשׁוּעָה but-safety b-rov בְּרֹב in-multitude-of yo’etz יוֹעֵץ׃ counselors

14Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counselors there is safety.

14지략이 없으면 백성이 망하여도 지략이 많으면 평안을 누리느니라

15 ra רַע evil yero’a יֵרוֹעַ shall-be-hurt ki כִּי for arav עָרַב is-surety zar זָר stranger v-sone וְשֹׂנֵא but-hates toq’im תֹקְעִים suretyship boteach בּוֹטֵחַ׃ is-secure

15He that is surety for a stranger shall smart for it: and he that hates suretyship is sure.

15타인을 위하여 보증이 되는 자는 손해를 당하여도 보증이 되기를 싫어하는 자는 평안하니라

16 eshet אֵשֶׁת woman-of chen חֵן grace titmoch תִּתְמֹךְ retains kavod כָּבוֹד honor v-aritzim וְעָרִיצִים and-strong-men yitm’chu יִתְמְכוּ retain osher עֹשֶׁר׃ riches

16A gracious woman retains honor: and strong men retain riches.

16유덕한 여자는 존영을 얻고 강폭한 자는 재물을 얻느니라

17 gomel גֹּמֵל does-good nafsho נַפְשׁוֹ to-his-soul ish אִישׁ man-of chased חָסֶד mercy v-ocher וְעֹכֵר but-troubles sh’ero שְׁאֵרוֹ his-flesh achzari אַכְזָרִי׃ cruel

17The merciful man does good to his own soul: but he that is cruel troubles his own flesh.

17인자한 자는 자기의 영혼을 이롭게 하고 잔인한 자는 자기의 몸을 해롭게 하느니라

18 rasha רָשָׁע wicked ose עֹשֶׂה earns f’ulat פְעֻלַּת wages-of shaqer שָׁקֶר deceit v-zorea וְזֹרֵעַ but-sows tz’daqa צְדָקָה righteousness secher שֶׂכֶר reward emet אֱמֶת׃ sure

18The wicked works a deceitful work: but to him that sows righteousness shall be a sure reward.

18악인의 삯은 허무하되 공의를 뿌린 자의 상은 확실하니라

19 ken כֵּן thus tz’daqa צְדָקָה righteousness l-chayyim לְחַיִּים to-life u-m’raddef וּמְרַדֵּף but-pursues ra’a רָעָה evil l-moto לְמוֹתוֹ׃ to-his-death

19As righteousness tends to life: so he that pursues evil pursues it to his own death.

19공의를 굳게 지키는 자는 생명에 이르고 악을 따르는 자는 사망에 이르느니라

20 to’avat תּוֹעֲבַת abomination-of YHVH יְהוָה LORD iqshei עִקְּשֵׁי perverse-of lev לֵב heart u-r’tzono וּרְצוֹנוֹ but-his-delight t’mimei תְּמִימֵי upright-in darech דָרֶךְ׃ way

20They that are of a perverse heart are abomination to the LORD: but such as are upright in their way are his delight.

20마음이 굽은 자는 여호와께 미움을 받아도 행위가 온전한 자는 그의 기뻐하심을 받느니라

21 yad יָד hand l-yad לְיָד to-hand lo לֹא not yinaqe יִנָּקֶה be-unpunished ra רָּע evil v-zera וְזֶרַע but-seed-of tzaddiqim צַדִּיקִים righteous nimlat נִמְלָט׃ shall-be-delivered

21Though hand join in hand, the wicked shall not be unpunished: but the seed of the righteous shall be delivered.

21악인은 피차 손을 잡을지라도 벌을 면하지 못할 것이나 의인의 후손은 구원을 얻으리라

22 nezem נֶזֶם ring-of zahav זָהָב gold b-af בְּאַף in-nose-of chazir חֲזִיר swine isha אִשָּׁה woman yafa יָפָה beautiful v-sarat וְסָרַת but-without ta’am טָעַם׃ discretion

22As a jewel of gold in a swine’s snout, so is a fair woman which is without discretion.

22아름다운 여인이 삼가지 아니하는 것은 마치 돼지 코에 금 고리 같으니라

23 ta’avat תַּאֲוַת desire-of tzaddiqim צַדִּיקִים righteous ach אַךְ only tov טוֹב good tiqvat תִּקְוַת expectation-of r’sha’im רְשָׁעִים wicked evra עֶבְרָה׃ wrath

23The desire of the righteous is only good: but the expectation of the wicked is wrath.

23의인의 소원은 오직 선하나 악인의 소망은 진노를 이루느니라

24 yesh יֵשׁ there-is m’fazer מְפַזֵּר scatters v-nosaf וְנוֹסָף yet-increases od עוֹד more v-chosech וְחוֹשֵׂךְ and-withholds mi-yosher מִיֹּשֶׁר more-than-right ach אַךְ but l-machsor לְמַחְסוֹר׃ to-poverty

24There is that scatters, and yet increases; and there is that withholds more than is meet, but it tends to poverty.

24흩어 구제하여도 더욱 부하게 되는 일이 있나니 과도히 아껴도 가난하게 될 뿐이니라

25 nefesh נֶפֶשׁ soul-of b’racha בְּרָכָה blessing t’dushan תְדֻשָּׁן shall-be-made-fat u-marve וּמַרְוֶה and-waters gam גַּם also hu הוּא he yore יוֹרֶא׃ shall-be-watered

25The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that waters shall be watered also himself.

25구제를 좋아하는 자는 풍족하여질 것이요 남을 윤택하게 하는 자는 자기도 윤택하여지리라

26 monea מֹנֵעַ withholds bar בָּר grain yiq’vuhu יִקְּבֻהוּ shall-curse-him l’om לְאוֹם people u-v’racha וּבְרָכָה but-blessing l-rosh לְרֹאשׁ on-head-of mashbir מַשְׁבִּיר׃ seller

26He that withholds corn, the people shall curse him: but blessing shall be upon the head of him that sells it.

26곡식을 내놓지 아니하는 자는 백성에게 저주를 받을 것이나 파는 자는 그의 머리에 복이 임하리라

27 shocher שֹׁחֵר diligently-seeks tov טוֹב good y’vaqesh יְבַקֵּשׁ procures ratzon רָצוֹן favor v-doresh וְדֹרֵשׁ but-seeks ra’a רָעָה mischief t’vo’ennu תְבוֹאֶנּוּ׃ shall-come-to-him

27He that diligently seeks good procures favor: but he that seeks mischief, it shall come to him.

27선을 간절히 구하는 자는 은총을 얻으려니와 악을 더듬어 찾는 자에게는 악이 임하리라

28 boteach בּוֹטֵחַ trusts b-oshro בְּעָשְׁרוֹ in-his-riches hu הוּא he yipol יִפֹּל shall-fall v-tzaddiqim וְצַדִּיקִים but-righteous k-ale כֶּעָלֶה as-leaf yifrachu יִפְרָחוּ׃ shall-flourish

28He that trusts in his riches shall fall: but the righteous shall flourish as a branch.

28자기의 재물을 의지하는 자는 패망하려니와 의인은 푸른 잎사귀 같아서 번성하리라

29 ocher עוֹכֵר troubles beito בֵּיתוֹ his-house yinchal יִנְחַל shall-inherit ruach רוּחַ wind v-eved וְעֶבֶד and-servant evil אֱוִיל fool la-chacham לַחֲכַם to-wise-of lev לֵב׃ heart

29He that troubles his own house shall inherit the wind: and the fool shall be servant to the wise of heart.

29자기 집을 해롭게 하는 자의 소득은 바람이라 미련한 자는 마음이 지혜로운 자의 종이 되리라

30 p’ri פְּרִי fruit-of tzaddiq צַדִּיק righteous etz עֵץ tree-of chayyim חַיִּים life v-loqeach וְלֹקֵחַ and-wins n’fashot נְפָשׁוֹת souls chacham חָכָם׃ wise

30The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that wins souls is wise.

30의인의 열매는 생명 나무라 지혜로운 자는 사람을 얻느니라

31 hen הֵן behold tzaddiq צַדִּיק righteous ba-aretz בָּאָרֶץ in-earth y’shullam יְשֻׁלָּם shall-be-recompensed af אַף much-more ki כִּי surely rasha רָשָׁע wicked v-chote וְחוֹטֵא׃ and-sinner

31Behold, the righteous shall be recompensed in the earth: much more the wicked and the sinner.

31보라 의인이라도 이 세상에서 보응을 받겠거든 하물며 악인과 죄인이리요
