잠언 14장 (Proverbs Chapter 14)

1 chachmot חַכְמ֣וֹת wisdom-of nashim נָ֭שִׁים women ban’tah בָּנְתָ֣ה builds veitah בֵיתָ֑הּ her-house v-ivelet וְ֝אִוֶּ֗לֶת but-foolish b-yadeha בְּיָדֶ֥יהָ with-her-hands tehor’sennu תֶהֶרְסֶֽנּוּ׃ tears-it-down

1Every wise woman builds her house: but the foolish plucks it down with her hands.

1무릇 지혜로운 여인은 그 집을 세우되 미련한 여인은 자기 손으로 그것을 허느니라

2 holech הוֹלֵ֣ךְ walks b-yoshro בְּ֭יָשְׁרוֹ in-his-uprightness y’re יְרֵ֣א fears YHVH יְהוָ֑ה LORD u-n’loz וּנְל֖וֹז but-perverse d’rachav דְּרָכָ֣יו in-his-ways bozehu בּוֹזֵֽהוּ׃ despises-him

2He who walks in his uprightness fears the LORD: but he who is perverse in his ways despises him.

2정직하게 행하는 자는 여호와를 경외하여도 패역하게 행하는 자는 여호와를 경멸히 여기느니라

3 b-fi בְּֽפִי־ in-mouth-of evil אֱ֭וִיל fool choter חֹ֣טֶר rod-of ga’avah גַּאֲוָ֑ה pride v-siftei וְשִׂפְתֵ֥י but-lips-of chachamim חֲ֝כָמִ֗ים wise-men tishm’rum תִּשְׁמוּרֵֽם׃ preserve-them

3In the mouth of the foolish is a rod of pride: but the lips of the wise shall preserve them.

3미련한 자의 입에는 교만의 채찍이 있고 지혜로운 자의 입술은 자기를 보전하느니라

4 b-ein בְּאֵ֣ין where-no alafim אֲ֭לָפִים oxen evus אֵב֣וּס crib bar בָּ֑ר clean v-rov וְרָב־ but-much t’vuot תְּ֝בוּא֗וֹת increase b-choach בְּכֹ֣חַ by-strength-of shor שֽׁוֹר׃ ox

4Where no oxen are, the crib is clean: but much increase is by the strength of the ox.

4소가 없으면 구유는 깨끗하려니와 소의 힘으로 얻는 것이 많으니라

5 ed עֵ֣ד witness emunim אֱ֭מוּנִים faithful lo לֹ֣א not y’chazzev יְכַזֵּ֑ב will-lie v-yafiach וְיָפִ֥יחַ but-utters k’zavim כְּ֝זָבִ֗ים lies ed עֵ֣ד witness shaqer שָֽׁקֶר׃ false

5A faithful witness will not lie: but a false witness will utter lies.

5신실한 증인은 거짓말을 아니하여도 거짓 증인은 거짓말을 뱉느니라

6 biqqesh בִּקֶּשׁ־ seeks letz לֵ֣ץ scorner chochma חָכְמָ֣ה wisdom va-ayin וָאָ֑יִן and-nothing v-da’at וְדַ֖עַת but-knowledge l-navon לְנָב֣וֹן to-understanding naqal נָקָֽל׃ easy

6A scorner seeks wisdom, and finds it not: but knowledge is easy to him who understands.

6거만한 자는 지혜를 구하여도 얻지 못하거니와 명철한 자는 지식 얻기가 쉬우니라

7 lech לֵ֣ךְ go mi-neged מִ֭נֶּגֶד from-presence l-ish לְאִ֣ישׁ to-man k’sil כְּסִ֑יל fool u-val וּבַל־ and-not yada’ta יָ֝דַ֗עְתָּ you-perceive siftei שִׂפְתֵי־ lips-of da’at דָֽעַת׃ knowledge

7Go from the presence of a foolish man, when you perceive not in him the lips of knowledge.

7너는 미련한 자의 앞을 떠나라 그 입술에 지식 있음을 보지 못함이니라

8 chochmat חָכְמַ֣ת wisdom-of arum עָ֭רוּם prudent havin הָבִ֣ין to-understand darko דַּרְכּ֑וֹ his-way v-ivelet וְאִוֶּ֖לֶת but-folly-of k’silim כְּסִילִ֣ים fools mirmah מִרְמָֽה׃ deceit

8The wisdom of the prudent is to understand his way: but the folly of fools is deceit.

8슬기로운 자의 지혜는 자기의 길을 아는 것이라도 미련한 자의 어리석음은 속이는 것이니라

9 evilim אֱ֭וִילִים fools yalitz יָלִ֣יץ mock-at asham אָשָׁ֑ם sin u-vein וּבֵ֖ין but-among y’sharim יְשָׁרִ֣ים upright ratzon רָצֽוֹן׃ favor

9Fools make a mock at sin: but among the righteous there is favor.

9미련한 자는 죄를 심상히 여겨도 정직한 자 중에는 은혜가 있느니라

10 lev לֵ֗ב heart yodea י֭וֹדֵעַ knows marrat מָרַּ֣ת bitterness-of nafsho נַפְשׁ֑וֹ his-soul u-v-simchato וּ֝בְשִׂמְחָת֗וֹ and-in-his-joy lo לֹא־ not yit’arav יִתְעָ֥רַב intermeddles zar זָֽר׃ stranger

10The heart knows his own bitterness; and a stranger does not intermeddle with his joy.

10마음의 고통은 자기가 알고 마음의 즐거움도 타인이 참여하지 못하느니라

11 beit בֵּ֣ית house-of r’sha’im רְ֭שָׁעִים wicked yishamed יִשָּׁמֵ֑ד shall-be-destroyed v-ohel וְאֹ֖הֶל but-tent-of y’sharim יְשָׁרִ֣ים upright yafriach יַפְרִֽיחַ׃ shall-flourish

11The house of the wicked shall be overthrown: but the tabernacle of the upright shall flourish.

11악한 자의 집은 망하겠고 정직한 자의 장막은 흥하리라

12 yesh יֵ֤שׁ there-is derech דֶּ֣רֶךְ way yashar יָ֭שָׁר right lifnei לִפְנֵי־ before ish אִ֑ישׁ man v-acharitah וְ֝אַחֲרִיתָ֗הּ but-end-of-it darchei דַּרְכֵי־ ways-of mavet מָֽוֶת׃ death

12There is a way which seems right to a man, but the end of it are the ways of death.

12어떤 길은 사람이 보기에 바르나 필경은 사망의 길이니라

13 gam גַּם־ even bis’choq בִּשְׂח֥וֹק in-laughter yich’av יִכְאַב־ is-sorrowful lev לֵ֑ב heart v-acharitah וְ֝אַחֲרִיתָ֗הּ and-end-of simcha שִׂמְחָ֥ה mirth tugah תוּגָֽה׃ heaviness

13Even in laughter the heart is sorrowful; and the end of that mirth is heaviness.

13웃을 때에도 마음에 슬픔이 있고 즐거움의 끝도 근심이니라

14 mi-d’rachav מִדְּרָכָ֣יו from-his-ways yisba יִ֭שְׂבַּע shall-be-filled sug ס֣וּג backslider lev לֵ֑ב in-heart u-me’alav וּ֝מֵעָלָ֗יו and-from-himself ish אִ֣ישׁ man tov טֽוֹב׃ good

14The backslider in heart shall be filled with his own ways: and a good man shall be satisfied from himself.

14마음이 굽은 자는 자기 행위로 보응이 가득하겠고 선한 사람도 자기의 행위로 그러하리라

15 peti פֶּ֭תִי simple ya’amin יַאֲמִ֣ין believes l-chol לְכָל־ to-every davar דָּבָ֑ר word v-arum וְ֝עָר֗וּם but-prudent yavin יָבִ֥ין considers la-ashuro לַאֲשֻׁרֽוֹ׃ well-his-going

15The simple believes every word: but the prudent man looks well to his going.

15어리석은 자는 온갖 말을 믿으나 슬기로운 자는 자기의 행동을 삼가느니라

16 chacham חָכָ֣ם wise yare יָ֭רֵא fears v-sar וְסָ֣ר and-departs me-ra מֵרָ֑ע from-evil uch’sil וּ֝כְסִ֗יל but-fool mit’abber מִתְעַבֵּ֥ר rages u-vote’ach וּבוֹטֵֽחַ׃ and-is-confident

16A wise man fears, and departs from evil: but the fool rages, and is confident.

16지혜로운 자는 두려워하여 악을 떠나나 어리석은 자는 방자하여 스스로 믿느니라

17 q’tzar קְֽצַר־ quick appayim אַ֭פַּיִם tempered ya’aseh יַעֲשֶׂ֣ה deals ivvelet אִוֶּ֑לֶת foolishly v-ish וְאִ֥ישׁ and-man-of m’zimmot מְ֝זִמּ֗וֹת wicked-devices yissane יִשָּׂנֵֽא׃ is-hated

17He who is soon angry deals foolishly: and a man of wicked devices is hated.

17노하기를 속히 하는 자는 어리석은 일을 행하고 악한 계교를 꾸미는 자는 미움을 받느니라

18 nachalu נָחֲל֣וּ inherit f’tayim פְתָאיִ֣ם simple ivvelet אִוֶּ֑לֶת folly va-arumim וַֽ֝עֲרוּמִ֗ים but-prudent yachtiru יַכְתִּ֥רוּ are-crowned da’at דָֽעַת׃ with-knowledge

18The simple inherit folly: but the prudent are crowned with knowledge.

18어리석은 자는 어리석음으로 기업을 삼아도 슬기로운 자는 지식으로 면류관을 삼느니라

19 shachu שַׁח֣וּ bow ra’im רָ֭עִים evil lifnei לִפְנֵ֣י before tovim טוֹבִ֑ים good ur’sha’im וּ֝רְשָׁעִ֗ים and-wicked al עַֽל־ at sha’arei שַׁעֲרֵ֥י gates-of tzaddiq צַדִּֽיק׃ righteous

19The evil bow before the good; and the wicked at the gates of the righteous.

19악인은 선인 앞에 엎드리고 불의자는 의인의 문에 엎드리느니라

20 gam גַּם־ even l-re’ehu לְ֭רֵעֵהוּ by-his-neighbor yissane יִשָּׂ֣נֵא is-hated rash רָ֑שׁ poor v-ohavei וְאֹהֲבֵ֖י but-lovers-of ashir עָשִׁ֣יר rich rabbim רַבִּֽים׃ many

20The poor is hated even of his own neighbor: but the rich has many friends.

20가난한 자는 그 이웃에게도 미움을 받게 되나 부요한 자는 친구가 많으니라

21 baz בָּז־ despises l-re’ehu לְרֵעֵ֥הוּ his-neighbor chote חוֹטֵ֑א sins um’chonen וּמְחוֹנֵ֖ן but-has-mercy anavim עֲנָוִ֣ים on-poor ashrav אַשְׁרָֽיו׃ happy-is-he

21He who despises his neighbor sins: but he who has mercy on the poor, happy is he.

21그 이웃을 업신여기는 자는 죄를 범하는 자요 빈곤한 자를 불쌍히 여기는 자는 복이 있는 자니라

22 halo הֲ‍ֽלוֹא־ do-not yit’u יִ֭תְעוּ they-err chor’shei חֹ֣רְשֵׁי that-devise ra רָ֑ע evil v-chesed וְחֶ֥סֶד but-mercy ve-emet וֶ֝אֱמֶ֗ת and-truth chor’shei חֹ֣רְשֵׁי that-devise tov טֽוֹב׃ good

22Do they not err who devise evil? but mercy and truth shall be to them who devise good.

22악을 도모하는 자는 그릇 가는 것이 아니냐 선을 도모하는 자에게는 인자와 진리가 있으리라

23 b-chol בְּכָל־ in-all etzev עֶ֭צֶב labor yihyeh יִהְיֶ֣ה there-is motar מוֹתָ֑ר profit ud’var וּדְבַר־ but-talk-of s’fatayim שְׂ֝פָתַ֗יִם lips ach אַךְ־ only l-machsor לְמַחְסֽוֹר׃ to-poverty

23In all labor there is profit: but the talk of the lips tends only to poverty.

23모든 수고에는 이익이 있어도 입술의 말은 궁핍을 이룰 뿐이니라

24 ateret עֲטֶ֣רֶת crown-of chachamim חֲכָמִ֣ים wise oshram עָשְׁרָ֑ם their-riches ivvelet אִוֶּ֖לֶת folly-of k’silim כְּסִילִ֣ים fools ivvelet אִוֶּֽלֶת׃ folly

24The crown of the wise is their riches: but the foolishness of fools is folly.

24지혜로운 자의 재물은 그의 면류관이요 미련한 자의 소유는 다만 그 미련한 것이니라

25 matzil מַצִּ֣יל delivers n’fashot נְ֭פָשׁוֹת souls ed עֵ֣ד witness emet אֱמֶ֑ת true v-yafiach וְיָפִ֖חַ but-speaks k’zavim כְּזָבִ֣ים lies mirmah מִרְמָֽה׃ deceit

25A true witness delivers souls: but a deceitful witness speaks lies.

25진실한 증인은 사람의 생명을 구원하여도 거짓말을 뱉는 사람은 속이느니라

26 b-yir’at בְּיִרְאַ֣ת in-fear-of YHVH יְ֭הוָה LORD mivtach מִבְטַח־ confidence oz עֹ֑ז strong ul-vanav וּ֝לְבָנָ֗יו and-to-his-children yihyeh יִהְיֶ֥ה shall-be machseh מַחְסֶֽה׃ refuge

26In the fear of the LORD is strong confidence: and his children shall have a place of refuge.

26여호와를 경외하는 자에게는 견고한 의뢰가 있나니 그 자녀들에게 피난처가 있으리라

27 yir’at יִרְאַ֣ת fear-of YHVH יְ֭הוָה LORD m’qor מְק֣וֹר fountain-of chayyim חַיִּ֑ים life lasur לָ֝ס֗וּר to-depart mi-moq’shei מִמֹּ֥קְשֵׁי from-snares-of mavet מָֽוֶת׃ death

27The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.

27여호와를 경외하는 것은 생명의 샘이라 사망의 그물에서 벗어나게 하느니라

28 b-rav בְּרָב־ in-multitude-of am עָ֥ם people hadrat הַדְרַת־ honor-of melech מֶ֑לֶךְ king uv-efes וּבְאֶ֥פֶס but-in-want-of l’om לְ֝אֹ֗ם people m’chittat מְחִתַּ֥ת destruction-of razon רָזֽוֹן׃ prince

28In the multitude of people is the king’s honor: but in the want of people is the destruction of the prince.

28백성이 많은 것은 왕의 영광이요 백성이 적은 것은 주권자의 패망이니라

29 erech אֶ֣רֶךְ slow appayim אַ֭פַּיִם to-anger rav רַב־ great-of t’vunah תְּבוּנָ֑ה understanding uq’tzar וּקְצַר־ but-hasty-of ruach ר֝֗וּחַ spirit merim מֵרִ֥ים exalts ivvelet אִוֶּֽלֶת׃ folly

29He who is slow to wrath is of great understanding: but he who is hasty of spirit exalts folly.

29노하기를 더디 하는 자는 크게 명철하여도 마음이 조급한 자는 어리석음을 나타내느니라

30 chayyei חַיֵּ֣י life-of v’sarim בְ֭שָׂרִים flesh lev לֵ֣ב heart marpe מַרְפֵּ֑א sound ur’qav וּרְקַ֖ב but-rottenness-of atzamot עֲצָמ֣וֹת bones qin’ah קִנְאָֽה׃ envy

30A sound heart is the life of the flesh: but envy the rottenness of the bones.

30마음의 화평은 육신의 생명이나 시기는 뼈의 썩음이니라

31 osheq עֹ֣שֵֽׁק oppresses dal דָּ֭ל poor cheref חֵרֵ֣ף reproaches osehu עֹשֵׂ֑הוּ his-Maker um’chabb’do וּ֝מְכַבְּד֗וֹ but-honors-him chonen חֹנֵ֥ן has-mercy-on evyon אֶבְיֽוֹן׃ needy

31He who oppresses the poor reproaches his Maker: but he who honors him has mercy on the poor.

31가난한 사람을 학대하는 자는 그를 지으신 이를 멸시하는 자요 궁핍한 사람을 불쌍히 여기는 자는 주를 존경하는 자니라

32 b-ra’ato בְּֽ֭רָעָתוֹ in-his-wickedness yiddacheh יִדָּחֶ֣ה is-driven-away rasha רָשָׁ֑ע wicked v-choseh וְחֹסֶ֖ה but-has-hope v-moto בְמוֹת֣וֹ in-his-death tzaddiq צַדִּֽיק׃ righteous

32The wicked is driven away in his wickedness: but the righteous has hope in his death.

32악인은 그 환난에 엎드러져도 의인은 그 죽음에도 소망이 있느니라

33 b-lev בְּלֵ֣ב in-heart-of navon נָ֭בוֹן understanding tanuach תָּנ֣וּחַ rests chochma חָכְמָ֑ה wisdom uv-qerev וּבְקֶ֥רֶב but-in-midst-of k’silim כְּ֝סִילִ֗ים fools tivvadea תִּוָּדֵֽעַ׃ is-made-known

33Wisdom rests in the heart of him who has understanding: but that which is in the midst of fools is made known.

33지혜는 명철한 자의 마음에 머물거니와 미련한 자의 속에 있는 것은 나타나느니라

34 tz’daqah צְדָקָ֥ה righteousness t’romem תְרֽוֹמֵֽם־ exalts goy גּ֑וֹי nation v-chesed וְחֶ֖סֶד but-reproach l’ummim לְאֻמִּ֣ים to-peoples chattat חַטָּֽאת׃ sin

34Righteousness exalts a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.

34의는 나라로 영화롭게 하고 죄는 백성을 욕되게 하느니라

35 r’tzon רְֽצוֹן־ favor-of melech מֶ֭לֶךְ king l-eved לְעֶ֣בֶד to-servant maskil מַשְׂכִּ֑יל wise v-evrato וְ֝עֶבְרָת֗וֹ but-his-wrath tihyeh תִּהְיֶ֥ה is mevish מֵבִֽישׁ׃ causes-shame

35The king’s favor is toward a wise servant: but his wrath is against him who causes shame.

35슬기롭게 행하는 신하는 왕의 은총을 입고 욕을 끼치는 신하는 그의 진노를 당하느니라
