잠언 15장 (Proverbs Chapter 15)

1 ma’aneh מַֽעֲנֶה־ answer rakh רַּ֭ךְ soft yashiv יָשִׁ֣יב turns-away cheima חֵמָ֑ה wrath u-d’var וּדְבַר־ but-word etzev עֶ֝֗צֶב grievous ya’aleh יַעֲלֶה־ stirs-up af אָֽף׃ anger

1A soft answer turns away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.

1유순한 대답은 분노를 쉬게 하여도 과격한 말은 노를 격동하느니라

2 l’shon לְשׁ֣וֹן tongue-of chakhamim חֲ֭כָמִים wise teitiv תֵּיטִ֣יב makes-good da’at דָּ֑עַת knowledge u-fi וּפִ֥י but-mouth-of k’silim כְ֝סִילִ֗ים fools yabia יַבִּ֥יעַ pours-out ivelet אִוֶּֽלֶת׃ foolishness

2The tongue of the wise uses knowledge rightly: but the mouth of fools pours out foolishness.

2지혜 있는 자의 혀는 지식을 선히 베풀고 미련한 자의 입은 미련한 것을 쏟느니라

3 b’khol בְּֽכָל־ in-every maqom מָ֭קוֹם place einei עֵינֵ֣י eyes-of YHVH יְהוָ֑ה LORD tzofot צֹ֝פ֗וֹת watching ra’im רָעִ֥ים evil v’tovim וטוֹבִֽים׃ and-good

3The eyes of the LORD are in every place, beholding the evil and the good.

3여호와의 눈은 어디서든지 악인과 선인을 감찰하시느니라

4 marpe מַרְפֵּ֣א wholesome lashon לָ֭שׁוֹן tongue etz עֵ֣ץ tree-of chayim חַיִּ֑ים life v’selef וְסֶ֥לֶף but-perverseness bah בָּ֝֗הּ in-it shever שֶׁ֣בֶר breach b’ruach בְּרֽוּחַ׃ in-spirit

4A wholesome tongue is a tree of life: but perverseness in it is a breach in the spirit.

4온량한 혀는 곧 생명 나무라도 패려한 혀는 마음을 상하게 하느니라

5 evil אֱוִ֗יל fool yinatz יִ֭נְאַץ despises musar מוּסַ֣ר instruction-of aviv אָבִ֑יו his-father v’shomer וְשֹׁמֵ֖ר but-he-who-regards tokhachat תּוֹכַ֣חַת reproof ya’rim יַעְרִֽם׃ is-prudent

5A fool despises his father’s instruction: but he who regards reproof is prudent.

5아비의 훈계를 업신여기는 자는 미련한 자요 경계를 받는 자는 슬기를 얻을 자니라

6 beit בֵּ֣ית house-of tzaddiq צַ֭דִּיק righteous chosen חֹ֣סֶן treasure rav רָ֑ב much u-vit’vuat וּבִתְבוּאַ֖ת but-in-revenue-of rasha רָשָׁ֣ע wicked ne’kharet נֶעְכָּֽרֶת׃ trouble

6In the house of the righteous is much treasure: but in the revenues of the wicked is trouble.

6의인의 집에는 많은 보물이 있어도 악인의 소득은 고통이 되느니라

7 siftei שִׂפְתֵ֣י lips-of chakhamim חֲ֭כָמִים wise y’zaru יְזָ֣רוּ disperse da’at דָ֑עַת knowledge v’lev וְלֵ֥ב but-heart-of k’silim כְּ֝סִילִ֗ים fools lo לֹא־ not khen כֵֽן׃ so

7The lips of the wise disperse knowledge: but the heart of the foolish does not so.

7지혜로운 자의 입술은 지식을 전파하여도 미련한 자의 마음은 정함이 없느니라

8 zevach זֶ֣בַח sacrifice-of r’sha’im רְ֭שָׁעִים wicked to’avat תּוֹעֲבַ֣ת abomination-of YHVH יְהוָ֑ה LORD u-t’fillat וּתְפִלַּ֖ת but-prayer-of y’sharim יְשָׁרִ֣ים upright r’tzono רְצוֹנֽוֹ׃ his-delight

8The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD: but the prayer of the upright is his delight.

8악인의 제사는 여호와께서 미워하셔도 정직한 자의 기도는 그가 기뻐하시느니라

9 to’avat תּוֹעֲבַ֣ת abomination-of YHVH יְ֭הוָה LORD derekh דֶּ֣רֶךְ way-of rasha רָשָׁ֑ע wicked u-m’raddeif וּמְרַדֵּ֖ף but-he-who-follows tz’daqa צְדָקָ֣ה righteousness ye’ehav יֶאֱהָֽב׃ he-loves

9The way of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD: but he loves him who follows after righteousness.

9악인의 길은 여호와께서 미워하셔도 의를 따라가는 자는 그가 사랑하시느니라

10 musar מוּסָ֣ר correction ra רָ֭ע grievous l’ozev לְעֹזֵ֣ב to-him-who-forsakes orach אֹ֑רַח way sone שׂוֹנֵ֖א he-who-hates tokhachat תוֹכַ֣חַת reproof yamut יָמֽוּת׃ shall-die

10Correction is grievous to him who forsakes the way: and he who hates reproof shall die.

10도를 배반하는 자는 엄한 징계를 받을 것이요 견책을 싫어하는 자는 죽을 것이니라

11 sh’ol שְׁא֣וֹל Sheol va’vaddon וַ֭אֲבַדּוֹן and-destruction neged נֶ֣גֶד before YHVH יְהוָ֑ה LORD af אַ֝֗ף how-much-more ki כִּֽי־ then libot לִבּ֥וֹת hearts-of b’nei בְּנֵי־ children-of adam אָדָֽם׃ men

11Hell and destruction are before the LORD: how much more then the hearts of the children of men?

11음부와 유명도 여호와의 앞에 드러나거든 하물며 인생의 마음이리요

12 lo לֹ֣א not ye’ehav יֶאֱהַב־ loves letz לֵ֭ץ scorner hokheiach הוֹכֵ֣חַֽ one-who-reproves lo ל֑וֹ him el אֶל־ to chakhamim חֲ֝כָמִ֗ים wise lo לֹ֣א not yelekh יֵלֵֽךְ׃ will-he-go

12A scorner loves not one who reproves him: neither will he go to the wise.

12거만한 자는 견책 받기를 좋아하지 아니하며 지혜 있는 자에게로 가지도 아니하느니라

13 lev לֵ֣ב heart sameiach שָׂ֭מֵחַ merry yeitiv יֵיטִ֣ב makes-cheerful panim פָּנִ֑ים countenance u-v’atz’vat וּבְעַצְּבַת־ but-by-sorrow-of lev לֵ֝֗ב heart ruach ר֣וּחַ spirit n’khei’ah נְכֵאָֽה׃ is-broken

13A merry heart makes a cheerful countenance: but by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken.

13마음의 즐거움은 얼굴을 빛나게 하여도 마음의 근심은 심령을 상하게 하느니라

14 lev לֵ֣ב heart-of navon נָ֭בוֹן understanding y’vaqqeish יְבַקֶּשׁ־ seeks da’at דָּ֑עַת knowledge u-fi וּפִ֥י but-mouth-of k’silim כְ֝סִילִ֗ים fools yir’eh יִרְעֶ֥ה feeds-on ivelet אִוֶּֽלֶת׃ foolishness

14The heart of him who has understanding seeks knowledge: but the mouth of fools feeds on foolishness.

14명철한 자의 마음은 지식을 요구하고 미련한 자의 입은 미련한 것을 즐기느니라

15 kol כָּל־ all y’mei יְמֵ֣י days-of ani עָנִ֣י afflicted ra’im רָעִ֑ים evil v’tov וְטֽוֹב־ but-good-of lev לֵ֝֗ב heart mishteh מִשְׁתֶּ֥ה feast tamid תָמִֽיד׃ continual

15All the days of the afflicted are evil: but he who is of a merry heart has a continual feast.

15고난 받는 자는 그 날이 다 험악하나 마음이 즐거운 자는 항상 잔치하느니라

16 tov טוֹב־ better m’at מְ֭עַט little b’yir’at בְּיִרְאַ֣ת with-fear-of YHVH יְהוָ֑ה LORD mei-otzar מֵ֝אוֹצָ֗ר than-treasure rav רָ֥ב great u-m’huma וּמְה֥וּמָה and-trouble vo בֽוֹ׃ with-it

16Better is little with the fear of the LORD than great treasure and trouble with it.

16가산이 적어도 여호와를 경외하는 것이 크게 부하고 번뇌하는 것보다 나으니라

17 tov ט֤וֹב better aruchat אֲרֻחַ֣ת dinner-of yaraq יָ֭רָק herbs v’ahava וְאַהֲבָה־ and-love sham שָׁ֑ם there mi-shor מִשּׁ֥וֹר than-ox avus אָ֝ב֗וּס stalled v’sin’a וְשִׂנְאָה־ and-hatred vo בֽוֹ׃ with-it

17Better is a dinner of herbs where love is, than a stalled ox and hatred with it.

17여간 채소를 먹으며 서로 사랑하는 것이 살진 소를 먹으며 서로 미워하는 것보다 나으니라

18 ish אִ֣ישׁ man cheima חֵ֭מָה wrathful y’gareh יְגָרֶ֣ה stirs-up madon מָד֑וֹן strife v’erekh וְאֶ֥רֶךְ but-slow-to appayim אַ֝פַּ֗יִם anger yashqit יַשְׁקִ֥יט appeases riv רִֽיב׃ strife

18A wrathful man stirs up strife: but he who is slow to anger appeases strife.

18분을 쉽게 내는 자는 다툼을 일으켜도 노하기를 더디하는 자는 시비를 그치게 하느니라

19 derekh דֶּ֣רֶךְ way-of atzel עָ֭צֵל slothful kim’sukhat כִּמְשֻׂ֣כַת as-hedge-of chadeq חָ֑דֶק thorns v’orach וְאֹ֖רַח but-way-of y’sharim יְשָׁרִ֣ים righteous s’lula סְלֻלָֽה׃ made-plain

19The way of the slothful man is as a hedge of thorns: but the way of the righteous is made plain.

19게으른 자의 길은 가시 울타리 같으나 정직한 자의 길은 대로니라

20 ben בֵּ֣ן son chakham חָ֭כָם wise y’sammach יְשַׂמַּח־ makes-glad av אָ֑ב father u-k’sil וּכְסִ֥יל but-foolish adam אָ֝דָ֗ם man bozeh בּוֹזֶ֥ה despises immo אִמּֽוֹ׃ his-mother

20A wise son makes a glad father: but a foolish man despises his mother.

20지혜로운 아들은 아비를 즐겁게 하여도 미련한 자는 어미를 업신여기느니라

21 ivelet אִ֭וֶּלֶת folly simcha שִׂמְחָ֣ה joy la-chasar לַחֲסַר־ to-him-who-is-destitute-of lev לֵ֑ב wisdom v’ish וְאִ֥ישׁ but-man-of t’vuna תְּ֝בוּנָ֗ה understanding y’yasher יְיַשֶּׁר־ walks lakhet לָֽכֶת׃ uprightly

21Folly is joy to him who is destitute of wisdom: but a man of understanding walks uprightly.

21무지한 자는 미련한 것을 즐거워하여도 명철한 자는 그 길을 바르게 하느니라

22 hafer הָפֵ֣ר are-disappointed machashavot מַ֭חֲשָׁבוֹת purposes b’ein בְּאֵ֣ין without sod ס֑וֹד counsel u-v’rov וּבְרֹ֖ב but-in-multitude-of yo’atzim יוֹעֲצִ֣ים counselors taqum תָּקֽוּם׃ they-are-established

22Without counsel purposes are disappointed: but in the multitude of counselors they are established.

22의논이 없으면 경영이 파하고 모사가 많으면 경영이 성립하느니라

23 simcha שִׂמְחָ֣ה joy la-ish לָ֭אִישׁ to-man b’ma’aneh בְּמַעֲנֵה־ by-answer-of fiv פִ֑יו his-mouth v’davar וְדָבָ֖ר and-word b’itto בְּעִתּ֣וֹ in-due-season mah מַה־ how tov טּֽוֹב׃ good

23A man has joy by the answer of his mouth: and a word spoken in due season, how good is it!

23사람은 그 입의 대답으로 말미암아 기쁨을 얻나니 때에 맞은 말이 얼마나 아름다운고

24 orach אֹ֣רַח way-of chayim חַ֭יִּים life l’ma’la לְמַ֣עְלָה above l’maskil לְמַשְׂכִּ֑יל to-wise l’ma’an לְמַ֥עַן that sur ס֝֗וּר he-may-depart mi-sh’ol מִשְּׁא֥וֹל from-hell mata מָֽטָּה׃ beneath

24The way of life is above to the wise, that he may depart from hell beneath.

24지혜로운 자는 위로 향한 생명 길로 말미암음으로 그 아래에 있는 음부를 떠나게 되느니라

25 beit בֵּ֣ית house-of ge’im גֵּ֭אִים proud yissach יִסַּ֣ח will-destroy YHVH יְהוָ֑ה LORD v’yatzev וְ֝יַצֵּ֗ב but-he-will-establish g’vul גְּב֣וּל border-of almana אַלְמָנָֽה׃ widow

25The LORD will destroy the house of the proud: but he will establish the border of the widow.

25여호와는 교만한 자의 집을 허시며 과부의 지계를 정하시느니라

26 to’avat תּוֹעֲבַ֣ת abomination-of YHVH יְ֭הוָה LORD mach’sh’vot מַחְשְׁב֣וֹת thoughts-of ra רָ֑ע wicked u-t’horim וּ֝טְהֹרִ֗ים but-pure imrei אִמְרֵי־ words-of no’am נֹֽעַם׃ pleasant

26The thoughts of the wicked are an abomination to the LORD: but the words of the pure are pleasant words.

26악한 꾀는 여호와의 미워하시는 것이라도 선한 말은 정결하니라

27 okher עֹכֵ֣ר troubles beito בֵּ֭יתוֹ his-own-house botzei’a בּוֹצֵ֣עַ he-who-is-greedy-of batza בָּ֑צַע gain v’sone וְשׂוֹנֵ֖א but-he-who-hates mattanot מַתָּנֹ֣ת gifts yichyeh יִחְיֶֽה׃ shall-live

27He who is greedy of gain troubles his own house; but he who hates gifts shall live.

27이를 탐하는 자는 자기 집을 해롭게 하나 뇌물을 싫어하는 자는 사느니라

28 lev לֵ֣ב heart-of tzaddiq צַ֭דִּיק righteous yehgeh יֶהְגֶּ֣ה studies la’anot לַעֲנ֑וֹת to-answer u-fi וּפִ֥י but-mouth-of r’sha’im רְ֝שָׁעִ֗ים wicked yabia יַבִּ֥יעַ pours-out ra’ot רָעֽוֹת׃ evil-things

28The heart of the righteous studies to answer: but the mouth of the wicked pours out evil things.

28의인의 마음은 대답할 말을 깊이 생각하여도 악인의 입은 악을 쏟느니라

29 rachoq רָח֣וֹק far YHVH יְ֭הוָה LORD mei-r’sha’im מֵרְשָׁעִ֑ים from-wicked u-t’fillat וּתְפִלַּ֖ת but-prayer-of tzaddiqim צַדִּיקִ֣ים righteous yishma יִשְׁמָֽע׃ he-hears

29The LORD is far from the wicked: but he hears the prayer of the righteous.

29여호와는 악인을 멀리하시고 의인의 기도를 들으시느니라

30 m’or מְֽאוֹר־ light-of einayim עֵ֭ינַיִם eyes y’sammach יְשַׂמַּֽח־ rejoices lev לֵ֑ב heart sh’mu’ah שְׁמוּעָ֥ה report tova ט֝וֹבָ֗ה good t’dashhen תְּדַשֶּׁן־ makes-fat atzem עָֽצֶם׃ bones

30The light of the eyes rejoices the heart: and a good report makes the bones fat.

30눈의 밝은 것은 마음을 기쁘게 하고 좋은 기별은 뼈를 윤택하게 하느니라

31 ozen אֹ֗זֶן ear shoma’at שֹׁ֭מַעַת that-hears tokhachat תּוֹכַ֣חַת reproof-of chayim חַיִּ֑ים life b’qerev בְּקֶ֖רֶב among chakhamim חֲכָמִ֣ים wise talin תָּלִֽין׃ abides

31The ear that hears the reproof of life abides among the wise.

31생명의 경계를 듣는 귀는 지혜로운 자 가운데에 있느니라

32 porei’a פּוֹרֵ֣עַ he-who-refuses musar מ֭וּסָר instruction mo’es מוֹאֵ֣ס despises nafsho נַפְשׁ֑וֹ his-own-soul v’shomei’a וְשׁוֹמֵ֥עַ but-he-who-hears tokhachat תּ֝וֹכַ֗חַת reproof qoneh ק֣וֹנֶה gets lev לֵּֽב׃ understanding

32He who refuses instruction despises his own soul: but he who hears reproof gets understanding.

32훈계 받기를 싫어하는 자는 자기의 영혼을 경히 여김이라 견책을 달게 받는 자는 지식을 얻느니라

33 yir’at יִרְאַ֣ת fear-of YHVH יְ֭הוָה LORD musar מוּסַ֣ר instruction-of chokhmah חָכְמָ֑ה wisdom v’lifnei וְלִפְנֵ֖י and-before khavod כָב֣וֹד honor anavah עֲנָוָֽה׃ humility

33The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom; and before honor is humility.

33여호와를 경외하는 것은 지혜의 훈계라 겸손은 존귀의 앞잡이니라
