잠언 18장 (Proverbs Chapter 18)
1 l-ta’avah לְֽתַאֲוָ֣ה through-desire y’vaqqesh יְבַקֵּ֣שׁ seeks nifrad נִפְרָ֑ד separated-one b-khol בְּכָל־ in-all tushiyyah תּ֝וּשִׁיָּ֗ה wisdom yitgalla יִתְגַּלָּֽע׃ he-quarrels
1Through desire a man, having separated himself, seeks and intermeddles with all wisdom.
1무리에게서 스스로 갈리는 자는 자기 소욕을 따르는 자라 온갖 참 지혜를 배척하느니라
2 lo לֹֽא־ not yachpotz יַחְפֹּ֣ץ delights k’sil כְּ֭סִיל fool bit’vunah בִּתְבוּנָ֑ה in-understanding ki כִּ֥י but im אִֽם־ only b-hitgallot בְּהִתְגַּלּ֥וֹת in-revealing libbo לִבּֽוֹ׃ his-heart
2A fool has no delight in understanding, but that his heart may discover itself.
2미련한 자는 명철을 기뻐하지 아니하고 자기의 의사를 드러내기만 기뻐하느니라
3 b-vo בְּֽבוֹא־ when-comes rasha רָ֭שָׁע wicked ba בָּ֣א comes gam גַם־ also buz בּ֑וּז contempt v-im וְֽעִם־ and-with qalon קָל֥וֹן ignominy cherpah חֶרְפָּֽה׃ reproach
3When the wicked comes, then comes also contempt, and with ignominy reproach.
3악한 자가 이를 때에는 멸시도 따라오고 부끄러운 것이 이를 때에는 능욕도 함께 오느니라
4 mayim מַ֣יִם waters amuqqim עֲ֭מֻקִּים deep divrey דִּבְרֵ֣י words-of fi פִי־ mouth-of ish אִ֑ישׁ man nachal נַ֥חַל brook novea נֹ֝בֵ֗עַ flowing m’qor מְק֣וֹר wellspring-of chokhmah חָכְמָֽה׃ wisdom
4The words of a man’s mouth are as deep waters, and the wellspring of wisdom as a flowing brook.
4명철한 사람의 입의 말은 깊은 물과 같고 지혜의 샘은 솟쳐 흐르는 내와 같으니라
5 s’et שְׂאֵ֣ת to-accept p’ney פְּנֵי־ face-of rasha רָשָׁ֣ע wicked lo לֹא־ not tov ט֑וֹב good l-hattot לְהַטּ֥וֹת to-overthrow tzaddiq צַ֝דִּ֗יק righteous ba-mishpat בַּמִּשְׁפָּֽט׃ in-judgment
5It is not good to accept the person of the wicked, to overthrow the righteous in judgment.
5악인을 두호하는 것과 재판할 때에 의인을 억울하게 하는 것이 선하지 아니하니라
6 siftey שִׂפְתֵ֣י lips-of k’sil כְ֭סִיל fool yavo’u יָבֹ֣אוּ enter v-riv בְרִ֑יב into-contention u-fiv וּ֝פִ֗יו and-his-mouth l-mahalumot לְֽמַהֲלֻמ֥וֹת for-strokes yiqra יִקְרָֽא׃ calls
6A fool’s lips enter into contention, and his mouth calls for strokes.
6미련한 자의 입술은 다툼을 일으키고 그 입은 매를 자청하느니라
7 pi פִּֽי־ mouth-of k’sil כְסִ֥יל fool m’chittah מְחִתָּה־ destruction lo ל֑וֹ to-him u-s’fatav וּ֝שְׂפָתָ֗יו and-his-lips moqesh מוֹקֵ֥שׁ snare-of nafsho נַפְשֽׁוֹ׃ his-soul
7A fool’s mouth is his destruction, and his lips are the snare of his soul.
7미련한 자의 입은 그의 멸망이 되고 그 입술은 그의 영혼의 그물이 되느니라
8 divrey דִּבְרֵ֣י words-of nirgan נִ֭רְגָּן talebearer k-mitlahamim כְּמִֽתְלַהֲמִ֑ים as-wounds v-hem וְ֝הֵ֗ם and-they yar’du יָרְד֥וּ go-down chadrey חַדְרֵי־ chambers-of vaten בָֽטֶן׃ belly
8The words of a talebearer are as wounds, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly.
8남의 말하기를 좋아하는 자의 말은 별식과 같아서 뱃속 깊은 데로 내려가느니라
9 gam גַּ֭ם also mitrapeh מִתְרַפֶּ֣ה slothful vim’lakhto בִמְלַאכְתּ֑וֹ in-his-work ach אָ֥ח brother hu ה֝֗וּא he l-va’al לְבַ֣עַל to-master-of mashchit מַשְׁחִֽית׃ destruction
9He also that is slothful in his work is brother to him that is a great waster.
9자기의 일을 게을리하는 자는 패가하는 자의 형제니라
10 migdal מִגְדַּל־ tower-of oz עֹ֭ז strength shem שֵׁ֣ם name-of YHVH יְהוָ֑ה LORD bo בּֽוֹ־ into-it yarutz יָר֖וּץ runs tzaddiq צַדִּ֣יק righteous v-nisgav וְנִשְׂגָּֽב׃ and-is-safe
10The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runs into it, and is safe.
10여호와의 이름은 견고한 망대라 의인은 그리로 달려가서 안전함을 얻느니라
11 hon ה֣וֹן wealth-of ashir עָ֭שִׁיר rich-man qiryat קִרְיַ֣ת city-of uzzo עֻזּ֑וֹ his-strength u-kh’chomah וּכְחוֹמָ֥ה and-as-wall nisgavah נִ֝שְׂגָּבָ֗ה high b-maskito בְּמַשְׂכִּיתֽוֹ׃ in-his-imagination
11The rich man’s wealth is his strong city, and as an high wall in his own conceit.
11부자의 재물은 그의 견고한 성이라 그가 높은 성벽 같이 여기느니라
12 lifney לִפְנֵי־ before shever שֶׁ֭בֶר destruction yigbah יִגְבַּ֣הּ is-haughty lev לֵב־ heart-of ish אִ֑ישׁ man v-lifney וְלִפְנֵ֖י and-before khavod כָב֣וֹד honor anavah עֲנָוָֽה׃ humility
12Before destruction the heart of man is haughty, and before honor is humility.
12사람의 마음의 교만은 멸망의 선봉이요 겸손은 존귀의 앞잡이니라
13 meshiv מֵשִׁ֣יב answers davar דָּ֭בָר matter b-terem בְּטֶ֣רֶם before yishma יִשְׁמָ֑ע he-hears ivvelet אִוֶּ֥לֶת folly hi הִיא־ it-is lo ל֝֗וֹ to-him u-khlimmah וּכְלִמָּֽה׃ and-shame
13He that answers a matter before he hears it, it is folly and shame to him.
13사연을 듣기 전에 대답하는 자는 미련하여 욕을 당하느니라
14 ruach רֽוּחַ־ spirit-of ish אִ֭ישׁ man y’khalkel יְכַלְכֵּ֣ל will-sustain machalehu מַחֲלֵ֑הוּ his-infirmity v-ruach וְר֥וּחַ but-spirit n’khe’ah נְ֝כֵאָ֗ה wounded mi מִ֣י who yissa’ennah יִשָּׂאֶֽנָּה׃ can-bear-it
14The spirit of a man will sustain his infirmity; but a wounded spirit who can bear?
14사람의 심령은 그 병을 능히 이기려니와 심령이 상하면 그것을 누가 일으키겠느냐
15 lev לֵ֣ב heart-of navon נָ֭בוֹן prudent yiqneh יִקְנֶה־ gets da’at דָּ֑עַת knowledge v-ozen וְאֹ֥זֶן and-ear-of chakhamim חֲ֝כָמִ֗ים wise t’vaqqesh תְּבַקֶּשׁ־ seeks da’at דָּֽעַת׃ knowledge
15The heart of the prudent gets knowledge; and the ear of the wise seeks knowledge.
15명철한 자의 마음은 지식을 얻고 지혜로운 자의 귀는 지식을 구하느니라
16 mattan מַתָּ֣ן gift-of adam אָ֭דָם man yarchiv יַרְחִ֣יב makes-room lo ל֑וֹ for-him v-lifney וְלִפְנֵ֖י and-before g’dolim גְדֹלִ֣ים great-ones yanchennu יַנְחֶֽנּוּ׃ brings-him
16A man’s gift makes room for him, and brings him before great men.
16선물은 그 사람의 길을 너그럽게 하며 또 존귀한 자의 앞으로 그를 인도하느니라
17 tzaddiq צַדִּ֣יק right ha-rishon הָרִאשׁ֣וֹן the-first b-rivo בְּרִיב֑וֹ in-his-cause u-va וּבָֽא־ but-comes re’ehu רֵ֝עֵ֗הוּ his-neighbor v-chaqaro וַחֲקָרֽוֹ׃ and-searches-him
17He that is first in his own cause seems just; but his neighbor comes and searches him.
17송사에 원고의 말이 바른 것 같으나 그 피고가 와서 밝히느니라
18 midyanim מִ֭דְיָנִים contentions yashbit יַשְׁבִּ֣ית causes-to-cease ha-goral הַגּוֹרָ֑ל the-lot u-veyn וּבֵ֖ין and-between atzumim עֲצוּמִ֣ים mighty yafrid יַפְרִֽיד׃ parts
18The lot causes contentions to cease, and parts between the mighty.
18제비 뽑는 것은 다툼을 그치게 하여 강한 자 사이에 해결케 하느니라
19 ach אָ֗ח brother nifsha נִפְשָׁ֥ע offended mi-qiryat מִקִּרְיַת־ than-city-of oz עֹ֑ז strength u-midyanim וּ֝מִדְיָנִ֗ים and-contentions ki-v’riach כִּבְרִ֥יחַ like-bars-of armon אַרְמֽוֹן׃ castle
19A brother offended is harder to be won than a strong city: and their contentions are like the bars of a castle.
19노엽게 한 형제와 화목하기가 견고한 성을 취하기보다 어려운즉 이러한 다툼은 산성 문빗장 같으니라
20 mi-p’ri מִפְּרִ֣י from-fruit-of fi פִי־ mouth-of ish אִ֭ישׁ man tisba תִּשְׂבַּ֣ע shall-be-satisfied bitno בִּטְנ֑וֹ his-belly t’vu’at תְּבוּאַ֖ת increase-of s’fatav שְׂפָתָ֣יו his-lips yisba יִשְׂבָּֽע׃ he-shall-be-filled
20A man’s belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled.
20사람은 입에서 나오는 열매로 하여 배가 부르게 되나니 곧 그 입술에서 나는 것으로 하여 만족케 되느니라
21 mavet מָ֣וֶת death v-chayyim וְ֭חַיִּים and-life b-yad בְּיַד־ in-power-of lashon לָשׁ֑וֹן tongue v-ohaveha וְ֝אֹהֲבֶ֗יהָ and-those-loving-it yokhlu יֹאכְל֥וּ shall-eat piryah פִרְיָֽהּ׃ its-fruit
21Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.
21죽고 사는 것이 혀의 권세에 달렸나니 혀를 쓰기 좋아하는 자는 그 열매를 먹으리라
22 matza מָצָ֣א finds ishah אִ֭שָּׁה wife matza מָ֣צָא finds tov ט֑וֹב good va-yafeq וַיָּ֥פֶק and-obtains ratzon רָ֝צ֗וֹן favor me-YHVH מֵיְהוָֽה׃ from-LORD
22Whoso finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor of the LORD.
22아내를 얻는 자는 복을 얻고 여호와께 은총을 받는 자니라
23 tachanunim תַּחֲנוּנִ֥ים entreaties y’dabber יְדַבֶּר־ uses rash רָ֑שׁ poor v-ashir וְ֝עָשִׁ֗יר but-rich ya’aneh יַעֲנֶ֥ה answers azzot עַזּֽוֹת׃ roughly
23The poor uses entreaties; but the rich answers roughly.
23가난한 자는 간절한 말로 구하여도 부자는 엄한 말로 대답하느니라
24 ish אִ֣ישׁ man-of re’im רֵ֭עִים friends l-hitro’ea לְהִתְרֹעֵ֑עַ must-show-himself-friendly v-yesh וְיֵ֥שׁ and-there-is ohev אֹ֝הֵ֗ב friend daveq דָּבֵ֥ק sticks-closer me-ach מֵאָֽח׃ than-brother
24A man that has friends must show himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticks closer than a brother.
24많은 친구를 얻는 자는 해를 당하게 되거니와 어떤 친구는 형제보다 친밀하니라
