잠언 22장 (Proverbs Chapter 22)

1 shem שֵׁ֣ם name nivchar נִ֭בְחָר is-chosen me-osher מֵעֹ֣שֶׁר than-riches rav רָ֑ב great mi-kesef מִכֶּ֥סֶף than-silver u-mi-zahav וּ֝מִזָּהָ֗ב and-than-gold chen חֵ֣ן favor tov טֽוֹב׃ good

1A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favor rather than silver and gold.

1선한 이름이 많은 재물보다 낫고 은총이 은이나 금보다 나으니라

2 ashir עָשִׁ֣יר rich va-rash וָרָ֣שׁ and-poor nifgashu נִפְגָּ֑שׁוּ meet-together oseh עֹשֵׂ֖ה maker-of khullam כֻלָּ֣ם all-of-them YHVH יְהוָֽה׃ LORD

2The rich and poor meet together: the LORD is the maker of them all.

2부자와 가난한 자가 함께 살거니와 그 모두를 지으신 이는 여호와시니라

3 arum עָר֤וּם prudent ra’ah רָאָ֣ה sees ra’ah רָעָ֣ה evil v-nistar וְנִסְתָּ֑ר and-hides u-f’tayim וּ֝פְתָיִ֗ים but-simple av’ru עָבְר֥וּ pass-on v-ne’enashu וְֽנֶעֱנָֽשׁוּ׃ and-are-punished

3A prudent man foresees the evil, and hides himself: but the simple pass on, and are punished.

3슬기로운 자는 재앙을 보면 숨어 피하여도 어리석은 자들은 지나가다가 해를 받느니라

4 eqev עֵ֣קֶב reward-of anavah עֲ֭נָוָה humility yir’at יִרְאַ֣ת fear-of YHVH יְהוָ֑ה LORD osher עֹ֖שֶׁר riches v-khavod וְכָב֣וֹד and-honor v-chayyim וְחַיִּֽים׃ and-life

4By humility and the fear of the LORD are riches, and honor, and life.

4겸손과 여호와를 경외함의 보상은 재물과 영광과 생명이니라

5 tsinnim צִנִּ֣ים thorns pachim פַּ֭חִים snares b-derekh בְּדֶ֣רֶךְ in-way-of iqqesh עִקֵּ֑שׁ perverse shomer שׁוֹמֵ֥ר keeper-of nafsho נַ֝פְשׁ֗וֹ his-soul yirchaq יִרְחַ֥ק keeps-far mehem מֵהֶֽם׃ from-them

5Thorns and snares are in the way of the perverse: he that keeps his soul shall be far from them.

5패역한 자의 길에는 가시와 올무가 있거니와 영혼을 지키는 자는 이를 멀리 하느니라

6 chanokh חֲנֹ֣ךְ train la-na’ar לַ֭נַּעַר the-child al-pi עַל־פִּ֣י according-to darko דַרְכּ֑וֹ his-way gam גַּ֥ם also ki כִּֽי־ when yazqin יַ֝זְקִ֗ין he-is-old lo לֹֽא־ not yasur יָס֥וּר he-will-depart mimmennah מִמֶּֽנָּה׃ from-it

6Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

6마땅히 행할 길을 아이에게 가르치라 그리하면 늙어도 그것을 떠나지 아니하리라

7 ashir עָ֭שִׁיר rich b-rashim בְּרָשִׁ֣ים over-poor yimshol יִמְשׁ֑וֹל rules v-eved וְעֶ֥בֶד and-servant loveh לֹ֝וֶ֗ה borrower l-ish לְאִ֣ישׁ to-man malveh מַלְוֶֽה׃ lender

7The rich rules over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender.

7부자는 가난한 자를 주관하고 빚진 자는 채주의 종이 되느니라

8 zorea זֹורֵ֣עַ sower-of avlah עַ֭וְלָה iniquity yiqtzor יִקְצָר־ shall-reap aven אָ֑וֶן vanity v-shevet וְשֵׁ֖בֶט and-rod-of evrato עֶבְרָת֣וֹ his-anger yikhleh יִכְלֶֽה׃ shall-fail

8He that sows iniquity shall reap vanity: and the rod of his anger shall fail.

8악을 뿌리는 자는 재앙을 거두리니 그 분노의 기세가 쇠하리라

9 tov טֽוֹב־ good ayin עַ֭יִן eye hu ה֣וּא he y’vorakh יְבֹרָ֑ךְ shall-be-blessed ki כִּֽי־ for natan נָתַ֖ן he-gives mi-lachmo מִלַּחְמ֣וֹ of-his-bread la-dal לַדָּֽל׃ to-poor

9He that has a bountiful eye shall be blessed; for he gives of his bread to the poor.

9선한 눈을 가진 자는 복을 받으리니 이는 양식을 가난한 자에게 줌이니라

10 garesh גָּ֣רֵֽשׁ cast-out letz לֵ֭ץ scorner v-yetze וְיֵצֵ֣א and-shall-go-out madon מָד֑וֹן contention v-yishbot וְ֝יִשְׁבֹּ֗ת and-shall-cease din דִּ֣ין strife v-qalon וְקָלֽוֹן׃ and-reproach

10Cast out the scorner, and contention shall go out; yes, strife and reproach shall cease.

10거만한 자를 쫓아내면 다툼이 없어지고 싸움과 수욕이 그치느니라

11 ohev אֹהֵ֥ב lover-of t’hor טְהָר־ pure lev לֵ֑ב heart chen חֵ֥ן grace s’fatav שְׂ֝פָתָ֗יו his-lips re’ehu רֵעֵ֥הוּ his-friend melekh מֶֽלֶךְ׃ king

11He that loves pureness of heart, for the grace of his lips the king shall be his friend.

11마음이 정결함을 사랑하는 자의 입술에는 덕이 있으므로 임금이 그의 친구가 되느니라

12 einei עֵינֵ֣י eyes-of YHVH יְ֭הוָה LORD natz’ru נָ֣צְרוּ preserve da’at דָ֑עַת knowledge va-y’sallef וַ֝יְסַלֵּ֗ף and-he-overthrows divrei דִּבְרֵ֥י words-of voged בֹגֵֽד׃ transgressor

12The eyes of the LORD preserve knowledge, and he overthrows the words of the transgressor.

12여호와의 눈은 지식 있는 자를 지키시나 사악한 자의 말은 패하게 하시느니라

13 amar אָמַ֣ר says atzel עָ֭צֵל slothful ari אֲרִ֣י lion ba-chutz בַח֑וּץ outside b-tokh בְּת֥וֹךְ in-midst-of r’chovot רְ֝חֹב֗וֹת streets eratzach אֵרָצֵֽחַ׃ I-shall-be-slain

13The slothful man says, There is a lion outside, I shall be slain in the streets.

13게으른 자는 말하기를 사자가 밖에 있은즉 내가 나가면 거리에서 찢기겠다 하느니라

14 shuchah שׁוּחָ֣ה pit amuqqah עֲמֻקָּ֭ה deep pi פִּ֣י mouth-of zarot זָר֑וֹת strange-women z’um זְע֥וּם abhorred-of YHVH יְ֝הוָ֗ה LORD yippol יִפָּל־ shall-fall sham שָֽׁם׃ there

14The mouth of strange women is a deep pit: he that is abhorred of the LORD shall fall in it.

14음녀의 입은 깊은 함정이라 여호와의 노를 당한 자는 거기 빠지리라

15 ivvelet אִ֭וֶּלֶת foolishness q’shurah קְשׁוּרָ֣ה bound v-lev בְלֶב־ in-heart-of na’ar נָ֑עַר child shevet שֵׁ֥בֶט rod-of musar מ֝וּסָ֗ר correction yarchiqennah יַרְחִיקֶ֥נָּה shall-drive-it-far mimmennu מִמֶּֽנּוּ׃ from-him

15Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him.

15아이의 마음에는 미련한 것이 얽혔으나 징계하는 채찍이 이를 멀리 쫓아내리라

16 osheq עֹ֣שֵֽׁק oppressor-of dal דָּ֭ל poor l-harbot לְהַרְבּ֣וֹת to-increase lo ל֑וֹ to-him noten נֹתֵ֥ן giver l-ashir לְ֝עָשִׁ֗יר to-rich akh אַךְ־ only l-machsor לְמַחְסֽוֹר׃ to-want

16He that oppresses the poor to increase his riches, and he that gives to the rich, shall surely come to want.

16이익을 얻으려고 가난한 자를 학대하는 자와 부자에게 주는 자는 가난하여질 뿐이니라

17 hat הַ֥ט incline aznekha אָזְנְךָ֗ your-ear u-sh’ma וּ֭שְׁמַע and-hear divrei דִּבְרֵ֣י words-of chakhamim חֲכָמִ֑ים wise-men v-libbkha וְ֝לִבְּךָ֗ and-your-heart tashit תָּשִׁ֥ית apply l-da’ti לְדַעְתִּֽי׃ to-my-knowledge

17Bow down your ear, and hear the words of the wise, and apply your heart to my knowledge.

17귀를 기울여 지혜 있는 자의 말씀을 들으며 내 지식에 마음을 둘지어다

18 ki כִּֽי־ for na’im נָ֭עִים pleasant ki כִּֽי־ when tishm’rem תִשְׁמְרֵ֣ם you-keep-them b-vitnekha בְּבִטְנֶ֑ךָ in-your-belly yikkonu יִכֹּ֥נוּ they-shall-be-fitted yachdav יַ֝חְדָּ֗ו together al עַל־ upon s’fatekha שְׂפָתֶֽיךָ׃ your-lips

18For it is a pleasant thing if you keep them within you; they shall be fitted in your lips.

18이것을 네 속에 보존하며 네 입술 위에 함께 있게 함이 아름다우니라

19 lihyot לִהְי֣וֹת that-may-be ba-YHVH בַּ֭יהוָה in-LORD mivtachekha מִבְטַחֶ֑ךָ your-trust hoda’tikha הוֹדַעְתִּ֖יךָ I-have-made-known-to-you ha-yom הַיּ֣וֹם today af אַף־ even attah אָֽתָּה׃ you

19That your trust may be in the LORD, I have made known to you this day, even to you.

19내가 네게 여호와를 의뢰하게 하려 하여 오늘 특별히 네게 알게 하였노니

20 halo הֲלֹ֤א have-not khatavti כָתַ֣בְתִּי I-written l’kha לְ֭ךָ to-you shalishim שָׁלִישִׁ֑ים excellent-things b-mo’etzot בְּמ֖וֹעֵצֹ֣ת in-counsels va-da’at וָדָֽעַת׃ and-knowledge

20Have not I written to you excellent things in counsels and knowledge,

20내가 모략과 지식의 아름다운 것을 너를 위하여 기록하여

21 l-hodi’akha לְהוֹדִֽיעֲךָ֗ to-make-you-know qosht קֹ֭שְׁטְ certainty imrei אִמְרֵ֣י words-of emet אֱמֶ֑ת truth l-hashiv לְהָשִׁ֥יב to-return amarim אֲמָרִ֥ים words emet אֱ֝מֶ֗ת truth l-shol’chekha לְשֹׁלְחֶֽיךָ׃ to-those-who-send-you

21That I might make you know the certainty of the words of truth; that you might answer the words of truth to them that send to you?

21네가 진리의 확실한 말씀을 깨닫게 하며 또 너를 보내는 자에게 진리의 말씀으로 회답하게 하려 함이 아니냐

22 al אַל־ not tigzol תִּגְזָל־ rob dal דָּ֭ל poor ki כִּ֣י because dal דַל־ poor hu ה֑וּא he v-al וְאַל־ and-not t’dakke תְּדַכֵּ֖א oppress ani עָנִ֣י afflicted ba-sha’ar בַשָּֽׁעַר׃ in-the-gate

22Rob not the poor, because he is poor: neither oppress the afflicted in the gate:

22약한 자를 그가 약하다고 탈취하지 말며 곤고한 자를 성문에서 압제하지 말라

23 ki כִּֽי־ for YHVH יְ֭הוָה LORD yariv יָרִ֣יב will-plead rivam רִיבָ֑ם their-cause v-qava וְקָבַ֖ע and-spoil et אֶת־ [obj] qov’eihem קֹבְעֵיהֶ֣ם those-who-spoil-them nafesh נָֽפֶשׁ׃ soul

23For the LORD will plead their cause, and spoil the soul of those that spoiled them.

23대저 여호와께서 그의 소를 펴시고 또 그를 노략하는 자의 생명을 빼앗으시리라

24 al אַל־ not titra תִּ֭תְרַע be-friend et אֶת־ with ba’al בַּ֣עַל owner-of af אָ֑ף anger v-et וְאֶת־ and-with ish אִ֥ישׁ man-of chemot חֵ֝מוֹת wrath lo לֹ֣א not tavo תָבֽוֹא׃ go

24Make no friendship with an angry man; and with a furious man you shall not go:

24노를 품는 자와 사귀지 말며 울분한 자와 동행하지 말지니

25 pen פֶּן־ lest te’elaf תֶּאֱלַ֥ף you-learn or’chotav אֹֽרְחֹתָ֑יו his-ways v-laqachta וְלָקַחְתָּ֖ and-take moqesh מוֹקֵ֣שׁ snare l-nafshekha לְנַפְשֶֽׁךָ׃ to-your-soul

25Lest you learn his ways, and get a snare to your soul.

25그의 행위를 본받아 네 영혼을 올무에 빠뜨릴까 두려움이니라

26 al אַל־ not t’hi תְּהִ֥י be v-toq’ei בְתֹֽקְעֵי־ among-those-who-strike khaf כָ֑ף hands ba-ar’vim בַּ֝עֹרְבִ֗ים among-sureties l-masha’ot לְמַשָּׁאֽוֹת׃ for-debts

26Be not one of them that strike hands, or of them that are sureties for debts.

26너는 사람과 더불어 손을 치지 말며 남의 빚에 보증을 서지 말라

27 im אִם־ if ein אֵֽין־ nothing l’kha לְךָ֥ to-you l-shallem לְשַׁלֵּ֑ם to-pay lammah לָ֥מָּה why yiqqach יִקַּ֥ח should-he-take mishkavkha מִ֝שְׁכָּבְךָ֗ your-bed mi-tachtekha מִתַּחְתֶּֽיךָ׃ from-under-you

27If you have nothing to pay, why should he take away your bed from under you?

27만일 네가 갚을 것이 없으면 네 누운 침상도 빼앗길 것이라 네가 어찌 그리하겠느냐

28 al אַל־ not tasseg תַּ֭סֵּג remove g’vul גְּב֣וּל landmark olam עוֹלָ֑ם ancient asher אֲשֶׁ֖ר which asu עָשׂ֣וּ made avotekha אֲבוֹתֶֽיךָ׃ your-fathers

28Remove not the ancient landmark, which your fathers have set.

28네 선조가 세운 옛 지계석을 옮기지 말지니라

29 chazita חָזִ֡יתָ see-you ish אִ֤ישׁ man mahir מָ֘הִ֤יר diligent bi-m’lakhto בִּמְלַאכְתּ֗וֹ in-his-business lifnei לִֽפְנֵֽי־ before m’lakhim מְלָכִ֥ים kings yityatzav יִתְיַצָּ֑ב he-shall-stand bal בַּל־ not yityatzev יִ֝תְיַצֵּ֗ב he-shall-stand lifnei לִפְנֵ֥י before ch’shukkkim חֲשֻׁכִּֽים׃ mean-men

29See you a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men.

29네가 자기의 일에 능숙한 사람을 보았느냐 이러한 사람은 왕 앞에 설 것이요 천한 자 앞에 서지 아니하리라
