잠언 24장 (Proverbs Chapter 24)
1 al אַל־ not t’qanne תְּ֭קַנֵּא be-envious b’anshei בְּאַנְשֵׁ֣י of-men-of ra’ah רָעָ֑ה evil v’al וְאַל־ and-not tit’av תִּ֝תְאָ֗ו desire lihyot לִהְי֥וֹת to-be ittam אִתָּֽם׃ with-them
1Do not be envious of evil men, neither desire to be with them.
1너는 악인의 형통을 부러워하지 말며 그와 함께 있기도 원하지 말지어다
2 ki כִּי־ for shod שֹׁ֭ד destruction yehgeh יֶהְגֶּ֣ה studies libbam לִבָּ֑ם their-heart v’amal וְ֝עָמָ֗ל and-mischief sifteihem שִׂפְתֵיהֶ֥ם their-lips t’dabbernah תְּדַבֵּֽרְנָה׃ speak
2For their heart studies destruction, and their lips talk of mischief.
2그들의 마음은 강포를 품고 그 입술은 잔해를 말함이니라
3 b’chochmah בְּ֭חָכְמָה by-wisdom yibaneh יִבָּ֣נֶה is-built bayit בָּ֑יִת house u-vitvunah וּ֝בִתְבוּנָ֗ה and-by-understanding yitkonan יִתְכּוֹנָֽן׃ it-is-established
3Through wisdom is a house built; and by understanding it is established:
3집은 지혜로 말미암아 건축되고 명철로 말미암아 견고히 되며
4 u-v’da’at וּ֭בְדַעַת and-by-knowledge chadarim חֲדָרִ֣ים rooms yimmal’u יִמָּלְא֑וּ shall-be-filled kol כָּל־ all hon ה֖וֹן riches yaqar יָקָ֣ר precious v’na’im וְנָעִֽים׃ and-pleasant
4And by knowledge shall the chambers be filled with all precious and pleasant riches.
4또 방들은 지식으로 말미암아 각종 귀하고 아름다운 보배로 채우게 되느니라
5 gever גֶּֽבֶר־ man chacham חָכָ֥ם wise ba’oz בַּע֑וֹז is-strong v’ish וְאִֽישׁ־ and-man-of da’at דַּ֝֗עַת knowledge m’ammetz מְאַמֶּץ־ increases koach כֹּֽחַ׃ strength
5A wise man is strong; yes, a man of knowledge increases strength.
5지혜 있는 자는 강하고 지식 있는 자는 힘을 더하나니
6 ki כִּ֣י for v’tachbulot בְ֭תַחְבֻּלוֹת by-wise-counsel ta’aseh תַּעֲשֶׂה־ you-shall-make lecha לְּךָ֣ your milchamah מִלְחָמָ֑ה war u-t’shu’ah וּ֝תְשׁוּעָ֗ה and-safety b’rov בְּרֹ֣ב in-multitude-of yo’etz יוֹעֵֽץ׃ counselors
6For by wise counsel you shall make your war: and in multitude of counselors there is safety.
6너는 모략으로 싸우라 승리는 모사가 많음에 있느니라
7 ra’mot רָאמ֣וֹת too-high le’evil לֶֽאֱוִ֣יל for-fool chochmot חָכְמ֑וֹת wisdom ba-sha’ar בַּ֝שַּׁ֗עַר in-the-gate lo לֹ֣א not yiftach יִפְתַּח־ he-opens pihu פִּֽיהוּ׃ his-mouth
7Wisdom is too high for a fool: he opens not his mouth in the gate.
7지혜는 너무 높아서 미련한 자의 미치지 못할 것이므로 그는 성문에서 입을 열지 못하느니라
8 m’chashev מְחַשֵּׁ֥ב he-who-devises l’hare’a לְהָרֵ֑עַ to-do-evil lo ל֝֗וֹ him ba’al בַּֽעַל־ master-of m’zimmot מְזִמּ֥וֹת schemes yiqra’u יִקְרָֽאוּ׃ they-shall-call
8He who devises to do evil shall be called a mischievous person.
8악을 꾀하는 자를 일컬어 사특한 자라 하느니라
9 zimmat זִמַּ֣ת thought-of ivvelet אִוֶּ֣לֶת foolishness chattat חַטָּ֑את is-sin v’to’avat וְתוֹעֲבַ֖ת and-abomination l’adam לְאָדָ֣ם to-men letz לֵֽץ׃ the-scorner
9The thought of foolishness is sin: and the scorner is an abomination to men.
9미련한 자의 생각은 죄요 거만한 자는 사람의 미움을 받느니라
10 hitrapita הִ֭תְרַפִּיתָ if-you-faint b’yom בְּי֥וֹם in-day-of tzarah צָרָ֗ה adversity tzar צַ֣ר small kochecha כֹּחֶֽכָה׃ your-strength
10If you faint in the day of adversity, your strength is small.
10네가 만일 환난 날에 낙담하면 네 힘의 미약함을 보임이니라
11 hatzel הַ֭צֵּל deliver l’quchim לְקֻחִ֣ים those-taken la-mavet לַמָּ֑וֶת to-death u-matim וּמָטִ֥ים and-those-staggering la-hereg לַ֝הֶ֗רֶג to-slaughter im אִם־ if tachsokh תַּחְשֽׂוֹךְ׃ you-hold-back
11If you hold back from delivering those who are drawn to death, and those who are ready to be slain;
11너는 사망으로 끌려가는 자를 건져 주며 살륙을 당하게 된 자를 구원하지 아니치 말라
12 ki כִּֽי־ if tomar תֹאמַ֗ר you-say hen הֵן֮ behold lo לֹא־ not yada’nu יָדַ֪עְנ֫וּ we-knew zeh זֶ֥ה this halo הֲ‍ֽלֹא־ does-not tochen תֹ֘כֵ֤ן he-who-ponders libbot לִבּ֨וֹת׀ hearts hu ה֘וּא he yavin יָבִ֗ין consider v’notzer וְנֹצֵ֣ר and-keeper-of nafsh’cha נַ֭פְשְׁךָ your-soul hu ה֣וּא he yeda יֵדָ֑ע know v’heshiv וְהֵשִׁ֖יב and-render l’adam לְאָדָ֣ם to-man k’fo’alo כְּפָעֳלֽוֹ׃ according-to-his-work
12If you say, Behold, we knew it not; does not he who ponders the heart consider it? and he who keeps your soul, does not he know it? and shall not he render to every man according to his works?
12네가 말하기를 나는 그것을 알지 못하였노라 할지라도 마음을 저울질하시는 이가 어찌 통찰하지 못하시겠으며 네 영혼을 지키시는 이가 어찌 알지 못하시겠느냐 그가 각 사람의 행위대로 보응하시리라
13 echol אֱכָל־ eat b’ni בְּנִ֣י my-son d’vash דְבַ֣שׁ honey ki כִּי־ because tov ט֑וֹב good v’nofet וְנֹ֥פֶת and-honeycomb matoq מָ֝ת֗וֹק sweet al עַל־ to chikkecha חִכֶּֽךָ׃ your-taste
13My son, eat honey, because it is good; and the honeycomb, which is sweet to your taste:
13내 아들아 꿀을 먹으라 이것이 좋으니라 송이꿀을 먹으라 이것이 네 입에 다니라
14 ken כֵּ֤ן׀ so d’ah דְּעֶ֥ה know chochmah חָכְמָ֗ה wisdom l’nafshecha לְנַ֫פְשֶׁ֥ךָ to-your-soul im אִם־ if matza’ta מָ֭צָאתָ you-have-found v’yesh וְיֵ֣שׁ and-there-is acharit אַחֲרִ֑ית future v’tiqvat’cha וְ֝תִקְוָתְךָ֗ and-your-hope lo לֹ֣א not tikkaret תִכָּרֵֽת׃ shall-be-cut-off
14So shall the knowledge of wisdom be to your soul: when you have found it, then there shall be a reward, and your expectation shall not be cut off.
14지혜가 네 영혼에게 이와 같은 줄을 알라 이것을 얻으면 정녕히 네 장래가 있겠고 네 소망이 끊어지지 아니하리라
15 al אַל־ not te’erov תֶּאֱרֹ֣ב lie-in-wait rasha רָ֭שָׁע O-wicked-man lin’veh לִנְוֵ֣ה against-dwelling tzaddiq צַדִּ֑יק righteous al אַֽל־ not t’shoded תְּשַׁדֵּ֥ד spoil rivtzo רִבְצֽוֹ׃ his-resting-place
15Lay not wait, O wicked man, against the dwelling of the righteous; spoil not his resting place:
15악한 자여 의인의 집을 엿보지 말며 그 쉬는 처소를 헐지 말지어다
16 ki כִּ֤י for sheva שֶׁ֨בַע׀ seven-times yippol יִפּ֣וֹל falls tzaddiq צַדִּ֣יק righteous-man vaqam וָקָ֑ם and-rises-up u-r’sha’im וּ֝רְשָׁעִ֗ים but-wicked yikkash’lu יִכָּשְׁל֥וּ shall-fall v’ra’ah בְרָעָֽה׃ into-mischief
16For a just man falls seven times, and rises up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief.
16대저 의인은 일곱 번 넘어질지라도 다시 일어나려니와 악인은 재앙으로 인하여 엎드러지느니라
17 bin’fol בִּנְפֹ֣ל when-falls oyiv’cha אוֹיִבְךָ֣ your-enemy al אַל־ not tismach תִּשְׂמָ֑ח rejoice u-vikash’lo וּ֝בִכָּשְׁל֗וֹ and-when-he-stumbles al אַל־ not yagel יָגֵ֥ל be-glad libbecha לִבֶּֽךָ׃ your-heart
17Rejoice not when your enemy falls, and let not your heart be glad when he stumbles:
17네 원수가 넘어질 때에 즐거워하지 말며 그가 엎드러질 때에 마음에 기뻐하지 말라
18 pen פֶּן־ lest yir’eh יִרְאֶ֣ה see YHVH יְ֭הוָה the-LORD v’ra וְרַ֣ע and-it-displease b’einav בְּעֵינָ֑יו him v’heshiv וְהֵשִׁ֖יב and-he-turn-away me’alav מֵעָלָ֣יו from-him appo אַפּֽוֹ׃ his-wrath
18Lest the LORD see it, and it displease him, and he turn away his wrath from him.
18여호와께서 이것을 보시고 기뻐 아니하사 그 진노를 그에게서 옮기실까 함이니라
19 al אַל־ not titchar תִּתְחַ֥ר fret bam’re’im בַּמְּרֵעִ֑ים because-of-evildoers al אַל־ not t’qanne תְּ֝קַנֵּ֗א be-envious bar’sha’im בָּרְשָׁעִֽים׃ at-the-wicked
19Fret not yourself because of evil men, neither be envious at the wicked;
19너는 행악자의 득의함을 인하여 분을 품지 말며 악인을 시기하지 말라
20 ki כִּ֤י׀ for lo לֹֽא־ not tihyeh תִהְיֶ֣ה there-shall-be acharit אַחֲרִ֣ית end lara לָרָ֑ע to-the-evil ner נֵ֖ר candle r’sha’im רְשָׁעִ֣ים of-wicked yid’ach יִדְעָֽךְ׃ shall-be-put-out
20For there shall be no reward to the evil man; the candle of the wicked shall be put out.
20대저 행악자는 장래가 없겠고 악인의 등불은 꺼지리라
21 y’ra יְרָֽא־ fear et אֶת־ YHVH יְהוָ֣ה the-LORD b’ni בְּנִ֣י my-son va-melech וָמֶ֑לֶךְ and-the-king im עִם־ with shonim שׁ֝וֹנִ֗ים those-who-change al אַל־ not tit’arav תִּתְעָרָֽב׃ meddle
21My son, fear the LORD and the king: and meddle not with those who are given to change:
21내 아들아 여호와와 왕을 경외하고 반역자로 더불어 사귀지 말라
22 ki כִּֽי־ for pit’om פִ֭תְאֹם suddenly yaqum יָק֣וּם shall-rise eidam אֵידָ֑ם their-calamity u-fid וּפִ֥יד and-ruin sh’neihem שְׁ֝נֵיהֶ֗ם of-them-both mi מִ֣י who yode’a יוֹדֵֽעַ׃ knows
22For their calamity shall rise suddenly; and who knows the ruin of them both?
22대저 그들의 재앙은 속히 임하리니 이 두 자의 멸망을 누가 알랴
23 gam גַּם־ also elleh אֵ֥לֶּה these lachachamim לַֽחֲכָמִ֑ים to-the-wise hakker הַֽכֵּר־ to-have-respect panim פָּנִ֖ים of-persons ba-mishpat בַּמִּשְׁפָּ֣ט in-judgment bal בַּל־ not tov טֽוֹב׃ good
23These things also belong to the wise. It is not good to have respect of persons in judgment.
23이것도 지혜로운 자의 말씀이라 재판할 때에 낯을 보아주는 것이 옳지 못하니라
24 omer אֹ֤מֵ֨ר׀ he-who-says l’rasha לְרָשָׁע֮ to-the-wicked tzaddiq צַדִּ֪יק righteous attah אָ֥תָּה you yiqq’vuhu יִקְּבֻ֥הוּ shall-curse-him ammim עַמִּ֗ים people yiz’amuhu יִזְעָמ֥וּהוּ shall-abhor-him l’ummim לְאֻמִּֽים׃ nations
24He who says to the wicked, You are righteous; him shall the people curse, nations shall abhor him:
24무릇 악인더러 옳다 하는 자는 백성에게 저주를 받을 것이요 국민에게 미움을 받으려니와
25 v’lamochichim וְלַמּוֹכִיחִ֥ים but-to-those-who-rebuke yin’am יִנְעָ֑ם shall-be-delight va’aleihem וַֽ֝עֲלֵיהֶ֗ם and-upon-them tavo תָּב֥וֹא shall-come birkat בִרְכַּת־ blessing-of tov טֽוֹב׃ good
25But to those who rebuke him shall be delight, and a good blessing shall come upon them.
25오직 그를 견책하는 자는 기쁨을 얻을 것이요 또 좋은 복을 받으리라
26 s’fatayim שְׂפָתַ֥יִם lips yishshaq יִשָּׁ֑ק shall-kiss meshiv מֵ֝שִׁ֗יב he-who-gives d’varim דְּבָרִ֥ים words n’chochim נְכֹחִֽים׃ right
26Every man shall kiss his lips that gives a right answer.
26적당한 말로 대답함은 입맞춤과 같으니라
27 hachen הָכֵ֣ן prepare ba-chutz בַּח֣וּץ outside m’lacht’cha מְלַאכְתֶּ֑ךָ your-work v’add’dah וְעַדְּדָ֥הּ and-make-it-fit ba-sadeh בַּ֝שָּׂדֶ֗ה in-the-field lach לָ֣ךְ for-yourself achar אַ֭חַר afterwards u-vanita וּבָנִ֥יתָ and-build beitecha בֵיתֶֽךָ׃ your-house
27Prepare your work outside, and make it fit for yourself in the field; and afterwards build your house.
27네 일을 밖에서 다스리며 밭에서 예비하고 그 후에 네 집을 세울지니라
28 al אַל־ not t’hi תְּהִ֣י be ed עֵד־ witness chinnam חִנָּ֣ם without-cause b’re’echa בְּרֵעֶ֑ךָ against-your-neighbor vahafittita וַ֝הֲפִתִּ֗יתָ and-deceive bis’fatecha בִּשְׂפָתֶֽיךָ׃ with-your-lips
28Be not a witness against your neighbor without cause; and deceive not with your lips.
28너는 까닭없이 네 이웃을 쳐서 증인이 되지 말며 네 입술로 속이지 말지니라
29 al אַל־ not tomar תֹּאמַ֗ר say ka’asher כַּאֲשֶׁ֣ר as asah עָֽשָׂה־ he-did li לִ֭י to-me ken כֵּ֤ן so e’eseh אֶֽעֱשֶׂה־ will-I-do lo לּ֑וֹ to-him ashiv אָשִׁ֖יב I-will-render la’ish לָאִ֣ישׁ to-the-man k’fo’alo כְּפָעֳלֽוֹ׃ according-to-his-work
29Say not, I will do so to him as he has done to me: I will render to the man according to his work.
29너는 그가 내게 행함 같이 나도 그에게 행하여 그 행한 대로 갚겠다 말하지 말지니라
30 al עַל־ by s’deh שְׂדֵ֣ה field-of ish אִישׁ־ man atzel עָצֵ֣ל slothful avarti עָבַ֑רְתִּי I-went v’al וְעַל־ and-by kerem כֶּ֝֗רֶם vineyard-of adam אָדָ֥ם man chasar חֲסַר־ void-of lev לֵֽב׃ understanding
30I went by the field of the slothful, and by the vineyard of the man void of understanding;
30내가 증거 게으른 자의 밭과 지혜 없는 자의 포도원을 지나며 본즉
31 v’hinneh וְהִנֵּ֨ה and-behold alah עָ֘לָ֤ה grown-over chullo כֻלּ֨וֹ׀ all-of-it qimsonim קִמְּשֹׂנִ֗ים thorns kassu כָּסּ֣וּ covered fanav פָנָ֣יו face-of-it charullim חֲרֻלִּ֑ים nettles v’geder וְגֶ֖דֶר and-wall-of avanav אֲבָנָ֣יו stones-thereof neherasa נֶהֱרָֽסָה׃ was-broken-down
31And, lo, it was all grown over with thorns, and nettles had covered the face of it, and the stone wall of it was broken down.
31가시덤불이 퍼졌으며 거친 풀이 지면에 덮였고 돌담이 무너졌기로
32 va’echezeh וָֽאֶחֱזֶ֣ה then-I-saw anochi אָ֭נֹכִֽי I ashit אָשִׁ֣ית considered libbi לִבִּ֑י it-well ra’iti רָ֝אִ֗יתִי I-looked laqachti לָקַ֥חְתִּי received musar מוּסָֽר׃ instruction
32Then I saw, and considered it well: I looked upon it, and received instruction.
32내가 보고 생각이 깊었고 내가 보고 훈계를 받았었노라
33 m’at מְעַ֣ט a-little shenot שֵׁ֭נוֹת sleep m’at מְעַ֣ט a-little t’numot תְּנוּמ֑וֹת slumber m’at מְעַ֓ט׀ a-little chibbuq חִבֻּ֖ק folding-of yadayim יָדַ֣יִם hands lishchav לִשְׁכָּֽב׃ to-sleep
33Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep:
33네가 좀더 자자, 좀더 졸자, 손을 모으고 좀더 눕자 하니
34 u-va וּבָֽא־ so-shall-come mit’hallech מִתְהַלֵּ֥ךְ as-one-who-travels reshecha רֵישֶׁ֑ךָ your-poverty u-machsorecha וּ֝מַחְסֹרֶ֗יךָ and-your-want k’ish כְּאִ֣ישׁ as-man magen מָגֵֽן׃ armed
34So shall your poverty come as one who travels; and your want as an armed man.
34네 빈궁이 강도 같이 오며 네 곤핍이 군사 같이 이르리라
