잠언 29장 (Proverbs Chapter 29)

1 ish אִ֣ישׁ man tokhachot תּוֹכָח֔וֹת of-reproofs maqsheh מַקְשֶׁה־ hardens oref עֹ֑רֶף neck peta פֶּ֥תַע suddenly yishaver יִ֝שָּׁבֵ֗ר shall-be-destroyed v-ein וְאֵ֣ין and-no marpe מַרְפֵּֽא׃ remedy

1He, that being often reproved hardens his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.

1자주 책망을 받으면서도 목이 곧은 사람은 갑자기 패망을 당하고 피하지 못하리라

2 birvot בִּרְב֣וֹת when-increase tzaddiqim צַ֭דִּיקִים righteous yismach יִשְׂמַ֣ח rejoices ha-am הָעָ֑ם the-people u-vimshol וּבִמְשֹׁ֥ל but-when-rules rasha רָ֝שָׁ֗ע wicked ye’anach יֵאָ֥נַֽח mourns am עָֽם׃ people

2When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked bears rule, the people mourn.

2의인이 많아지면 백성이 즐거워하고 악인이 권세를 잡으면 백성이 탄식하느니라

3 ish אִֽישׁ־ man ohev אֹהֵ֣ב loving chokhmah חָ֭כְמָה wisdom yesammach יְשַׂמַּ֣ח makes-rejoice aviv אָבִ֑יו his-father v-roeh וְרֹעֶ֥ה but-companion-of zonot ז֝וֹנ֗וֹת harlots ye’abbed יְאַבֶּד־ wastes hon הֽוֹן׃ wealth

3Whoever loves wisdom rejoices his father: but he that keeps company with harlots spends his substance.

3지혜를 사모하는 자는 아비를 즐겁게 하여도 창기와 사귀는 자는 재물을 잃느니라

4 melekh מֶ֗לֶךְ king b-mishpat בְּ֭מִשְׁפָּט by-judgment ya’amid יַעֲמִ֣יד establishes aretz אָ֑רֶץ land v-ish וְאִ֖ישׁ but-man-of terumot תְּרוּמ֣וֹת bribes yehersenah יֶֽהֶרְסֶֽנָּה׃ overthrows-it

4The king by judgment establishes the land: but he that receives gifts overthrows it.

4왕은 정의로 나라를 견고하게 하나 뇌물을 억지로 내게 하는 자는 나라를 멸망시키느니라

5 gever גֶּ֭בֶר man machaliq מַחֲלִ֣יק flatters al עַל־ to re’ehu רֵעֵ֑הוּ his-neighbor reshet רֶ֝֗שֶׁת net pores פּוֹרֵ֥שׂ spreads al עַל־ at p’amav פְּעָמָֽיו׃ his-feet

5A man that flatters his neighbor spreads a net for his feet.

5이웃에게 아첨하는 것은 그의 발 앞에 그물을 치는 것이니라

6 b-fesha בְּפֶ֤שַֽׁע in-transgression-of ish אִ֣ישׁ man ra רָ֣ע evil moqesh מוֹקֵ֑שׁ snare v-tzaddiq וְ֝צַדִּ֗יק but-righteous yarun יָר֥וּן sings v-same’ach וְשָׂמֵֽחַ׃ and-rejoices

6In the transgression of an evil man there is a snare: but the righteous does sing and rejoice.

6악인이 범죄하는 것은 스스로 올무가 되게 하는 것이나 의인은 노래하고 기뻐하느니라

7 yodea יֹדֵ֣עַ knows tzaddiq צַ֭דִּיק righteous din דִּ֣ין cause-of dallim דַּלִּ֑ים poor rasha רָ֝שָׁ֗ע wicked lo לֹא־ not yavin יָבִ֥ין regards da’at דָּֽעַת׃ knowledge

7The righteous considers the cause of the poor: but the wicked regards not to know it.

7의인은 가난한 자의 사정을 알아주나 악인은 알아줄 지식이 없느니라

8 anshei אַנְשֵׁ֣י men-of latzon לָ֭צוֹן scorn yafichu יָפִ֣יחוּ bring-into-snare qiryah קִרְיָ֑ה city va-chakhamim וַ֝חֲכָמִ֗ים but-wise yashivu יָשִׁ֥יבוּ turn-away af אָֽף׃ wrath

8Scornful men bring a city into a snare: but wise men turn away wrath.

8거만한 자는 성읍을 요란하게 하여도 슬기로운 자는 노를 그치게 하느니라

9 ish אִֽישׁ־ man chakham חָכָ֗ם wise nishpat נִ֭שְׁפָּט contends et אֶת־ with ish אִ֣ישׁ man evil אֱוִ֑יל foolish v-ra’ash וְרָגַ֥ז whether-rages v-sachaq וְ֝שָׂחַ֗ק or-laughs v-ein וְאֵ֣ין there-is-no nachat נָֽחַת׃ rest

9If a wise man contends with a foolish man, whether he rage or laugh, there is no rest.

9지혜로운 자와 미련한 자가 다투면 미련한 자가 노하든지 웃든지 그 다툼이 그침이 없느니라

10 anshei אַנְשֵׁ֣י men-of damim דָ֭מִים blood yisn’u יִשְׂנְאוּ־ hate tam תָ֑ם upright visharim וִֽ֝ישָׁרִ֗ים but-upright yevaqshu יְבַקְשׁ֥וּ seek nafsho נַפְשֽׁוֹ׃ his-soul

10The bloodthirsty hate the upright: but the just seek his soul.

10피 흘리기를 좋아하는 자는 온전한 자를 미워하고 정직한 자의 생명을 찾느니라

11 kol כָּל־ all rucho ר֭וּחוֹ his-spirit yotzi יוֹצִ֣יא utters kesil כְסִ֑יל fool v-chakham וְ֝חָכָ֗ם but-wise b-achor בְּאָח֥וֹר till-afterwards yeshabbechenah יְשַׁבְּחֶֽנָּה׃ keeps-it-back

11A fool utters all his mind: but a wise man keeps it in till afterwards.

11어리석은 자는 자기의 정신을 다 드러내어도 지혜로운 자는 그것을 억제하느니라

12 moshel מֹ֭שֵׁל ruler maqshiv מַקְשִׁ֣יב hearkens al עַל־ to d’var דְּבַר־ word-of shaqer שָׁ֑קֶר lies kol כָּֽל־ all m’shartav מְשָׁרְתָ֥יו his-servants r’sha’im רְשָׁעִֽים׃ wicked

12If a ruler listens to lies, all his servants are wicked.

12관원이 거짓말을 들으면 그의 하인들은 다 악하게 되느니라

13 rash רָ֤שׁ poor v-ish וְאִ֣ישׁ and-man-of t’khakhim תְּכָכִ֣ים oppressions nifgashu נִפְגָּ֑שׁוּ meet-together me’ir מֵ֤אִיר enlightens einei עֵינֵ֖י eyes-of shneihem שְׁנֵיהֶ֣ם both-of-them YHVH יְהוָֽה׃ LORD

13The poor and the deceitful man meet together: the LORD lightens both their eyes.

13가난한 자와 포악한 자가 섞여 살거니와 여호와께서는 그 모두의 눈에 빛을 주시느니라

14 melekh מֶ֤לֶךְ king shofet שׁוֹפֵ֣ט judging be-emet בֶּֽאֱמֶ֣ת faithfully dallim דַּלִּ֑ים poor kis’o כִּ֝סְא֗וֹ his-throne la’ad לָעַ֥ד forever yikkon יִכּֽוֹן׃ shall-be-established

14The king that faithfully judges the poor, his throne shall be established forever.

14왕이 가난한 자를 성실히 신원하면 그의 왕위가 영원히 견고하리라

15 shevet שֵׁ֣בֶט rod v-tokhachat וְ֭תוֹכַחַת and-reproof yitten יִתֵּ֣ן give chokhmah חָכְמָ֑ה wisdom v-na’ar וְנַ֥עַר but-child m’shullach מְ֝שֻׁלָּ֗ח left-to-himself mevish מֵבִ֥ישׁ brings-shame immo אִמּֽוֹ׃ his-mother

15The rod and reproof give wisdom: but a child left to himself brings his mother to shame.

15채찍과 꾸지람이 지혜를 주거늘 임의로 하게 버려둔 자식은 어미를 욕되게 하느니라

16 birvot בִּרְב֣וֹת when-multiply r’sha’im רְ֭שָׁעִים wicked yirbeh יִרְבֶּה־ increases pasha פָּ֑שַׁע transgression v-tzaddiqim וְ֝צַדִּיקִ֗ים but-righteous b-mapaltam בְּֽמַפַּלְתָּ֥ם their-fall yir’u יִרְאֽוּ׃ shall-see

16When the wicked are multiplied, transgression increases: but the righteous shall see their fall.

16악인이 많아지면 죄도 많아지나니 의인은 그들의 망함을 보리라

17 yasser יַסֵּ֣ר correct bin’kha בִּ֭נְךָ your-son vinichekhah וִֽינִיחֶ֑ךָ and-he-shall-give-rest v-yitten וְיִתֵּ֖ן and-shall-give ma’adannim מַעֲדַנִּ֣ים delight l-nafshekha לְנַפְשֶֽׁךָ׃ to-your-soul

17Correct your son, and he shall give you rest; yes, he shall give delight to your soul.

17네 자식을 징계하라 그리하면 그가 너를 평안하게 하겠고 또 네 마음에 기쁨을 주리라

18 b-ein בְּאֵ֣ין where-no chazon חָ֭זוֹן vision yippara יִפָּ֣רַֽע perish am עָ֑ם people v-shomer וְשֹׁמֵ֖ר but-keeper-of torah תּוֹרָ֣ה law ashrehu אַשְׁרֵֽהוּ׃ happy-is-he

18Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keeps the law, happy is he.

18묵시가 없으면 백성이 방자히 행하거니와 율법을 지키는 자는 복이 있느니라

19 bidvarim בִּ֭דְבָרִים by-words lo לֹא־ not yivvaser יִוָּ֣סֶר will-be-corrected aved עָ֑בֶד servant ki כִּֽי־ though yavin יָ֝בִ֗ין he-understand v-ein וְאֵ֣ין he-will-not ma’aneh מַעֲנֶֽה׃ answer

19A servant will not be corrected by words: for though he understand he will not answer.

19종은 말로만 하면 고치지 아니하나니 이는 그가 알고도 따르지 아니함이니라

20 chazita חָזִ֗יתָ see-you ish אִ֭ישׁ man atz אָ֣ץ hasty bidvarav בִּדְבָרָ֑יו in-his-words tiqvah תִּקְוָ֖ה hope likhsil לִכְסִ֣יל for-fool mimmennu מִמֶּֽנּוּ׃ than-of-him

20See you a man that is hasty in his words? there is more hope of a fool than of him.

20네가 말이 조급한 사람을 보느냐 그보다 미련한 자에게 오히려 희망이 있느니라

21 m’fanneq מְפַנֵּ֣ק delicately-brings-up minno’ar מִנֹּ֣עַר from-child avdo עַבְדּ֑וֹ his-servant v-acharito וְ֝אַחֲרִית֗וֹ and-at-his-end yihyeh יִהְיֶ֥ה he-shall-be manon מָנֽוֹן׃ son

21He that delicately brings up his servant from a child shall have him become his son at the length.

21종을 어릴 때부터 곱게 양육하면 그가 나중에는 자식인 체하리라

22 ish אִֽישׁ־ man-of af אַ֭ף anger yegareh יְגָרֶ֣ה stirs-up madon מָד֑וֹן strife u-va’al וּבַ֖עַל and-master-of chemah חֵמָ֣ה fury rav רַב־ abounding pasha פָּֽשַׁע׃ transgression

22An angry man stirs up strife, and a furious man abounds in transgression.

22노하는 자는 다툼을 일으키고 성내는 자는 범죄함이 많으니라

23 ga’avat גַּאֲוַ֣ת pride-of adam אָ֭דָם man tashpilennu תַּשְׁפִּילֶ֑נּוּ shall-bring-him-low u-shfal וּשְׁפַל־ but-humble-of ruach ר֝֗וּחַ spirit yitmokh יִתְמֹ֥ךְ shall-uphold kavod כָּבֽוֹד׃ honor

23A man’s pride shall bring him low: but honor shall uphold the humble in spirit.

23사람이 교만하면 낮아지게 되겠고 마음이 겸손하면 영예를 얻으리라

24 choleq חוֹלֵ֣ק partner im עִם־ with gannav גַּ֭נָּב thief sone שׂוֹנֵ֣א hates nafsho נַפְשׁ֑וֹ his-soul alah אָלָ֥ה cursing yishma יִ֝שְׁמַ֗ע he-hears v-lo וְלֹ֣א but-not yaggid יַגִּֽיד׃ tells-it

24Whoever is partner with a thief hates his own soul: he hears cursing, and reveals it not.

24도둑과 짝하는 자는 자기의 영혼을 미워하는 자라 그는 저주를 들어도 진술하지 아니하느니라

25 cherdat חֶרְדַּ֣ת fear-of adam אָ֭דָם man yitten יִתֵּ֣ן brings moqesh מוֹקֵ֑שׁ snare u-vote’ach וּבוֹטֵ֖חַ but-trusts ba-YHVH בַּיהוָ֣ה in-LORD y’suggav יְשֻׂגָּֽב׃ shall-be-safe

25The fear of man brings a snare: but whoever puts his trust in the LORD shall be safe.

25사람을 두려워하면 올무에 걸리게 되거니와 여호와를 의지하는 자는 안전하리라

26 rabbim רַ֭בִּים many m’vaqshim מְבַקְשִׁ֣ים seek p’nei פְּנֵי־ face-of moshel מוֹשֵׁ֑ל ruler u-me-YHVH וּ֝מֵיְהוָ֗ה but-from-LORD mishpat מִשְׁפַּט־ judgment-of ish אִֽישׁ׃ man

26Many seek the ruler’s favor; but every man’s judgment comes from the LORD.

26주권자에게 은혜를 구하는 자가 많으나 사람의 재판은 여호와께로 말미암느니라

27 to’avat תּוֹעֲבַ֣ת abomination-of tzaddiqim צַ֭דִּיקִים righteous ish אִ֣ישׁ man-of avel עָ֑וֶל iniquity v-to’avat וְתוֹעֲבַ֖ת and-abomination-of rasha רָשָׁ֣ע wicked y’shar יְשַׁר־ upright-of darekh דָּֽרֶךְ׃ way

27An unjust man is an abomination to the just: and he that is upright in the way is abomination to the wicked.

27불의한 자는 의인에게 미움을 받고 바르게 행하는 자는 악인에게 미움을 받느니라
