잠언 26장 (Proverbs Chapter 26)
1 k-sheleg כַּשֶּׁ֣לֶג like-snow ba-qayitz בַּקַּ֭יִץ in-summer u-ch-matar וּכַמָּטָ֣ר and-like-rain ba-qatzir בַּקָּצִ֑יר in-harvest ken כֵּ֤ן so lo לֹא not naveh נָאוֶ֖ה fitting lich-sil לִכְסִ֣יל for-fool kavod כָּבֽוֹד׃ honor
1As snow in summer, and as rain in harvest, so honor is not fitting for a fool.
1미련한 자에게는 영예가 적당하지 아니하니 마치 여름에 눈 오는 것과 추수 때에 비 오는 것 같으니라
2 ka-tzippor כַּצִּפּ֣וֹר like-bird la-nud לָ֭נוּד to-wander ka-d’ror כַּדְּר֣וֹר like-swallow la-uf לָע֑וּף to-fly ken כֵּ֥ן so qil’lat קִֽלְלַ֥ת curse chinnam חִ֝נָּ֗ם without-cause lo לֹ֣א not tavo תָבֹֽא׃ come
2As the bird by wandering, as the swallow by flying, so the curse without cause shall not come.
2까닭 없는 저주는 참새가 떠도는 것과 제비가 날아가는 것 같이 이르지 아니하느니라
3 shot שׁ֣וֹט whip la-sus לַ֭סּוּס for-horse meteg מֶ֣תֶג bridle la-chamor לַחֲמ֑וֹר for-donkey v-shevet וְ֝שֵׁ֗בֶט and-rod l-gev לְגֵ֣ו for-back-of k’silim כְּסִילִֽים׃ fools
3A whip for the horse, a bridle for the donkey, and a rod for the fool’s back.
3말에게는 채찍이요 나귀에게는 재갈이요 미련한 자의 등에는 막대기니라
4 al אַל not ta’an תַּ֣עַן answer k’sil כְּ֭סִיל fool k-ivvalto כְּאִוַּלְתּ֑וֹ according-to-his-folly pen פֶּֽן lest tishveh תִּשְׁוֶה you-be-like lo לּ֥וֹ to-him gam גַם also attah אָֽתָּה׃ you
4Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest you also be like him.
4미련한 자의 어리석은 것을 따라 대답하지 말라 두렵건대 너도 그와 같을까 하노라
5 aneh עֲנֵ֣ה answer ch’sil כְ֭סִיל fool k-ivvalto כְּאִוַּלְתּ֑וֹ according-to-his-folly pen פֶּן lest yih’yeh יִהְיֶ֖ה he-be chacham חָכָ֣ם wise b-einav בְּעֵינָֽיו׃ in-his-eyes
5Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own conceit.
5미련한 자의 어리석은 것을 따라 그에게 대답하라 두렵건대 그가 스스로 지혜롭게 여길까 하노라
6 m’qatzeh מְקַצֶּ֣ה cuts-off raglayim רַ֭גְלַיִם feet chamas חָמָ֣ס violence shoteh שֹׁתֶ֑ה drinks sholeach שֹׁלֵ֖חַ sends d’varim דְּבָרִ֣ים words b-yad בְּיַד by-hand-of k’sil כְּסִֽיל׃ fool
6He who sends a message by the hand of a fool cuts off the feet, and drinks damage.
6미련한 자 편에 기별하는 것은 자기의 발을 베어 버리고 해를 받느니라
7 dalyu דַּלְי֣וּ hang-limp shokayim שֹׁ֭קַיִם legs mi-pisseach מִפִּסֵּ֑חַ from-lame u-mashal וּ֝מָשָׁ֗ל and-proverb b-fi בְּפִ֣י in-mouth-of ch’silim כְסִילִֽים׃ fools
7The legs of the lame are not equal: so is a proverb in the mouth of fools.
7저는 자의 다리는 힘 없이 달렸나니 미련한 자의 입의 잠언도 그러하니라
8 ki-tz’ror כִּצְר֣וֹר like-binding even אֶ֭בֶן stone b-margemah בְּמַרְגֵּמָ֑ה in-sling ken כֵּן so noten נוֹתֵ֖ן gives lich-sil לִכְסִ֣יל to-fool kavod כָּבֽוֹד׃ honor
8As he who binds a stone in a sling, so is he who gives honor to a fool.
8미련한 자에게 영예를 주는 것은 돌을 물매에 매는 것과 같으니라
9 choach ח֭וֹחַ thorn alah עָלָ֣ה goes-up v-yad בְיַד in-hand-of shikkor שִׁכּ֑וֹר drunkard u-mashal וּ֝מָשָׁ֗ל and-proverb b-fi בְּפִ֣י in-mouth-of ch’silim כְסִילִֽים׃ fools
9As a thorn goes up into the hand of a drunkard, so is a proverb in the mouth of fools.
9미련한 자의 입의 잠언은 술 취한 자의 손에 든 가시나무 같으니라
10 rav רַ֥ב great m’cholel מְחֹֽולֵֽל wounds kol כֹּ֑ל all v-socher וְשֹׂכֵ֥ר and-hires k’sil כְּ֝סִ֗יל fool v-socher וְשֹׂכֵ֥ר and-hires ov’rim עֹבְרִֽים׃ passers-by
10The great God who formed all things both rewards the fool, and rewards transgressors.
10장인이 온갖 것을 만들지라도 미련한 자를 고용하는 것은 지나가는 자를 고용함과 같으니라
11 k-chelev כְּ֭כֶלֶב like-dog shav שָׁ֣ב returns al עַל to qe’o קֵא֑וֹ his-vomit k’sil כְּ֝סִ֗יל fool shoneh שׁוֹנֶ֥ה repeats v-ivvalto בְאִוַּלְתּֽוֹ׃ in-his-folly
11As a dog returns to his vomit, so a fool returns to his folly.
11개가 그 토한 것을 도로 먹는 것 같이 미련한 자는 그 미련한 것을 거듭 행하느니라
12 ra’ita רָאִ֗יתָ see-you ish אִ֭ישׁ man chacham חָכָ֣ם wise b-einav בְּעֵינָ֑יו in-his-eyes tiqvah תִּקְוָ֖ה hope lich-sil לִכְסִ֣יל for-fool mimmennu מִמֶּֽנּוּ׃ than-him
12Do you see a man wise in his own conceit? there is more hope of a fool than of him.
12네가 스스로 지혜롭게 여기는 자를 보느냐 그보다 미련한 자에게 오히려 바랄 것이 있느니라
13 amar אָמַ֣ר says atzel עָ֭צֵל sluggard shachal שַׁ֣חַל lion ba-derech בַּדָּ֑רֶךְ in-the-way ari אֲ֝רִ֗י lion bein בֵּ֣ין between ha-r’chovot הָרְחֹבֽוֹת׃ the-streets
13The sluggard says, There is a lion in the way; a lion is in the streets.
13게으른 자는 길에 사자가 있다 거리에 사자가 있다 하느니라
14 ha-delet הַ֭דֶּלֶת the-door tissov תִּסּ֣וֹב turns al עַל on tzirah צִירָ֑הּ its-hinges v-atzel וְ֝עָצֵ֗ל and-sluggard al עַל on mittato מִטָּתֽוֹ׃ his-bed
14As the door turns on its hinges, so does the sluggard on his bed.
14문짝이 돌쩌귀를 따라서 도는 것 같이 게으른 자는 침상에서 도느니라
15 taman טָ֘מַ֤ן hides atzel עָצֵ֣ל sluggard yado יָ֭דוֹ his-hand ba-tzallachat בַּצַּלָּ֑חַת in-the-dish nil’ah נִ֝לְאָ֗ה he-is-weary la-hashivah לַֽהֲשִׁיבָ֥הּ to-return-it el אֶל to piv פִּֽיו׃ his-mouth
15The sluggard hides his hand in his bosom; it grieves him to bring it again to his mouth.
15게으른 자는 그 손을 그릇에 넣고도 입으로 올리기를 괴로워하느니라
16 chacham חָכָ֣ם wise atzel עָצֵ֣ל sluggard b-einav בְּעֵינָ֑יו in-his-eyes mi-shiv’ah מִ֝שִּׁבְעָ֗ה than-seven m’shivei מְשִׁ֣יבֵי returning ta’am טָֽעַם׃ reason
16The sluggard is wiser in his own conceit than seven men who can render a reason.
16게으른 자는 선히 대답하는 사람 일곱보다 자기를 지혜롭게 여기느니라
17 machaziq מַחֲזִ֥יק takes-hold b-oznei בְּאָזְנֵי by-ears-of chalev כָ֑לֶב dog over עֹבֵ֥ר passer-by mit’abber מִ֝תְעַבֵּ֗ר meddling al עַל with riv רִ֥יב strife lo לֹּא not lo לֽוֹ׃ his
17He who passes by, and meddles with strife belonging not to him, is like one who takes a dog by the ears.
17길로 지나가다가 자기와 상관 없는 다툼을 간섭하는 자는 개의 귀를 잡는 자와 같으니라
18 k-mit’lahlei’ah כְּֽמִתְלַהְלֵ֗הַּ like-madman ha-yoreh הַיֹּרֶ֥ה who-shoots ziqim זִקִּ֗ים firebrands chitzim חִצִּ֥ים arrows va-mavet וָמָֽוֶת׃ and-death
18As a madman who casts firebrands, arrows, and death,
18횃불을 던지며 화살을 쏘아 사람을 죽이는 미친 사람이 있나니
19 ken כֵּֽן so ish אִ֭ישׁ man rimmah רִמָּ֣ה deceives et אֶת [obj] re’ehu רֵעֵ֑הוּ his-neighbor v-amar וְ֝אָמַ֗ר and-says ha-lo הֲ‍ֽלֹא not m’sacheq מְשַׂחֵ֥ק joking ani אָֽנִי׃ I
19So is the man who deceives his neighbor, and says, Am not I in sport?
19자기의 이웃을 속이고 말하기를 내가 희롱하였노라 하는 자도 그러하니라
20 b-efes בְּאֶ֣פֶס in-lack-of etzim עֵ֭צִים wood tichbeh תִּכְבֶּה goes-out esh אֵ֑שׁ fire u-v-ein וּבְאֵ֥ין and-without nirgan נִ֝רְגָּ֗ן talebearer yishtoq יִשְׁתֹּ֥ק ceases madon מָדֽוֹן׃ strife
20Where no wood is, there the fire goes out: so where there is no talebearer, the strife ceases.
20나무가 다하면 불이 꺼지고 말쟁이가 없어지면 다툼이 쉬느니라
21 pecham פֶּחָ֣ם coal l-gechalim לְ֭גֶחָלִים to-burning-coals v-etzim וְעֵצִ֣ים and-wood l-esh לְאֵ֑שׁ to-fire v-ish וְאִ֥ישׁ and-man midyanim מִ֝דְיָנִ֗ים contentious l-charchar לְחַרְחַר to-kindle riv רִֽיב׃ strife
21As coals are to burning coals, and wood to fire; so is a contentious man to kindle strife.
21숯불에 숯을 더하는 것과 타는 불에 나무를 더하는 것 같이 다툼을 좋아하는 자는 시비를 일으키느니라
22 divrei דִּבְרֵ֣י words-of nirgan נִ֭רְגָּן talebearer k-mit’lahamim כְּמִֽתְלַהֲמִ֑ים like-delicacies v-hem וְ֝הֵ֗ם and-they yardu יָרְד֥וּ go-down chadrei חַדְרֵי chambers-of vaten בָֽטֶן׃ belly
22The words of a talebearer are as wounds, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly.
22남의 말하기를 좋아하는 자의 말은 별식과 같아서 뱃속 깊은 데로 내려가느니라
23 kesef כֶּ֣סֶף silver sigim סִ֭יגִים dross m’tzuppeh מְצֻפֶּ֣ה overlaid al עַל on chares חָ֑רֶשׂ earthen-vessel s’fatayim שְׂפָתַ֥יִם lips dol’qim דֹּ֝לְקִ֗ים burning v-lev וְלֶב and-heart ra רָֽע׃ evil
23Burning lips and a wicked heart are like a potsherd covered with silver dross.
23온유한 입술에 악한 마음은 낮은 은을 입힌 토기니라
24 bi-s’fatav בִּ֭שְׂפָתָיו with-his-lips yinnacher יִנָּכֵ֣ר dissembles sone שׂוֹנֵ֑א hater u-v-qirbo וּ֝בְקִרְבּ֗וֹ and-within-him yashit יָשִׁ֥ית he-lays mirmah מִרְמָֽה׃ deceit
24He who hates dissembles with his lips, and lays up deceit within him;
24감정을 품은 자는 입술로는 꾸미고 속에는 궤휼을 품나니
25 ki כִּֽי when y’channen יְחַנֵּ֣ן he-speaks-graciously qolo ק֭וֹלוֹ his-voice al אַל not ta’amen תַּאֲמֶן believe bo בּ֑וֹ him ki כִּ֤י for sheva שֶׁ֖בַע seven to’evot תּוֹעֵב֣וֹת abominations b-libbo בְּלִבּֽוֹ׃ in-his-heart
25When he speaks fair, believe him not: for there are seven abominations in his heart.
25그 말이 좋을지라도 믿지 말 것은 그 마음에 일곱 가지 가증한 것이 있음이라
26 tikkasseh תִּכַּסֶּ֣ה is-covered sin’ah שִׂ֭נְאָה hatred b-mashsha’on בְּמַשָּׁא֑וֹן by-deceit tiggaleh תִּגָּלֶ֖ה shall-be-revealed ra’ato רָעָת֣וֹ his-wickedness v-qahal בְקָהָֽל׃ before-congregation
26Whose hatred is covered by deceit, his wickedness shall be shown before the whole congregation.
26궤휼로 그 감정을 감출지라도 그 악이 회중 앞에 드러나리라
27 koreh כֹּֽרֶה digs shachat שַּׁ֭חַת pit bah בָּ֣הּ into-it yippol יִפֹּ֑ל shall-fall v-golel וְגֹ֥לֵ֥ל and-rolls even אֶ֝בֶן stone elav אֵלָ֥יו to-him tashuv תָּשֽׁוּב׃ shall-return
27Whoever digs a pit shall fall in it: and he who rolls a stone, it will return on him.
27함정을 파는 자는 그것에 빠질 것이요 돌을 굴리는 자는 도리어 그것에 치이리라
28 l’shon לְֽשׁוֹן tongue sheqer שֶׁ֭קֶר lying yisna יִשְׂנָ֣א hates dakkav דַכָּ֑יו those-afflicted-by-it u-feh וּפֶ֥ה and-mouth chalaq חָ֝לָ֗ק flattering ya’aseh יַעֲשֶׂ֥ה works midcheh מִדְחֶֽה׃ ruin
28A lying tongue hates those who are afflicted by it; and a flattering mouth works ruin.
28거짓말하는 혀는 자기가 해한 자를 미워하고 아첨하는 입은 패망을 일으키느니라
