The Traditional Market Development Council of Namdong-gu, Incheon, has donated 2 million KRW to aid recovery efforts following recent large-scale wildfires in the Yeongnam region. The council held a donation ceremony on May 12, delivering heartfelt support to neighbors affected by the disaster.

Attending the ceremony were presidents and vice presidents from several traditional markets, including Incheon Moraenae Market, Guwol Market, Ganseok Jayu Market, Guwol Wholesale Traditional Market, Jangseungbaegi Market, Mansu Market, and Soraepogu Traditional Fish Market. The market representatives explained that they voluntarily raised the donation out of a sincere desire to help those suffering from the aftermath of the fire.

Beyond this contribution, the Namdong-gu Traditional Market Merchants’ Associations are known for their continuous community engagement. They donate “Soraechan Kimchi” every year to support local neighbors in need, highlighting their ongoing dedication to social contribution despite economic challenges.

Namdong-gu Mayor Park Jong-hyo expressed gratitude, saying, “I deeply appreciate the warm-hearted generosity of the traditional market merchants who continue to support our community even while working hard to revitalize the local economy.” He added, “We extend our sincere condolences to the residents affected by the wildfires in Yeongnam and hope for a swift recovery.”
