중랑구는 오는 24일, 면목동 오거리 어린이공원에서 ‘면목시장 우리동네 요리대회’를 개최할 예정이다. 이번 대회는 면목시장의 매력을 널리 알리고, 지역 경제 활성화를 도모하기 위해 중랑구와 면목시장 상인회가 협력하여 마련한 행사다. 구민들에게 맛있는 요리와 함께 즐거운 시간을 제공하고, 지역 주민들이 직접 참여하여 소통할 수 있는 기회를 만들고자 한다.
Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Gyeong-gi) is set to hold the ‘Myeonmok Market Neighborhood Cooking Contest’ on the 24th at Myeonmokdong Ogeori Children’s Park. This event, co-organized by Jungnang-gu and the Myeonmok Market Merchants Association, aims to promote the charm of Myeonmok Market and revitalize the local economy. The contest will offer residents a fun opportunity to enjoy delicious food while fostering community engagement.
이번 요리대회에는 지역 주민들로 구성된 10개 팀이 참여하여 자신들만의 특별한 요리를 선보일 예정이다. 면목7동 새마을부녀회, 중곡초 학부모 모임, 면목4동 자율부녀방범대 등 지역을 대표하는 단체들이 대회에 참여하며, 대회에 앞서 각 팀은 면목시장에서 배정된 예산 내에서 필요한 식재료를 직접 구매한다. 대회 당일에는 각 팀이 100인분의 요리를 준비해 시식단에게 제공할 예정이며, 시식 후 투표를 통해 가장 많은 표를 얻은 팀이 우승하게 된다.
The cooking contest will feature 10 teams composed of local residents showcasing their special dishes. Participating groups include the Myeonmok 7-dong Saemaul Women’s Association, Junggok Elementary School Parent Association, and Myeonmok 4-dong Voluntary Women’s Crime Prevention Group, among others. Prior to the event, each team will purchase ingredients from Myeonmok Market within a set budget. On the day of the contest, each team will prepare 100 servings to be tasted by the tasting panel, and votes will determine the winning team.

우승팀에게는 50만원 상당의 온누리상품권이 수여되며, 총 300만원 상당의 상품도 준비되어 있다. 방문객 200여 명이 시식단으로 참여하며, 시식 후에는 투표권을 통해 직접 우승팀을 선정하는 역할을 맡는다. 또한, 대회에서는 ‘우승팀을 맞춰라’ 경품 행사와 환경 보호를 위한 ‘개인 컵 사용의 날’ 행사도 함께 진행된다. 개인 컵이나 물병을 지참한 방문객 500명에게는 무료 음료가 제공되며, 다양한 부대 프로그램도 함께 운영된다.
The winning team will receive ‘Onnuri’ gift certificates worth 500,000 won, and a total of 3 million won in prizes will be awarded. About 200 visitors will participate as the tasting panel and will play a direct role in selecting the winning team through voting. Additionally, the contest will feature a ‘Guess the Winning Team’ prize event and an environmental campaign, ‘Bring Your Own Cup Day,’ where 500 visitors who bring their own cups or bottles will be offered free drinks. Various side events will also be held throughout the day.
류경기 중랑구청장은 “이번 요리대회가 지역 상권과 주민들이 함께 소통하는 자리가 되길 바란다”며, “맛있는 요리와 다양한 행사를 통해 지역 경제 활성화에 기여하고, 주민들에게 즐거운 시간을 선사할 수 있기를 기대한다”고 전했다. 중랑구는 앞으로도 지역 전통시장을 살리고 구민들에게 유익한 행사를 꾸준히 제공할 예정이다.
Mayor Ryu Gyeong-gi expressed his hope that this cooking contest will serve as a platform for both local businesses and residents to engage and communicate. He added, “We expect this event to contribute to revitalizing the local economy through delicious food and diverse activities, offering residents a delightful experience.” Jungnang-gu plans to continue supporting traditional markets and providing beneficial events for the community.
