The 1st 'Island' Agricultural and Marine Products Direct Trading Market Held

Ongjin County (Governor Moon Kyung-bok) announced that it will hold the ‘2024 1st Ongjin ‘Island’ Agricultural and Marine Specialties Direct Transaction Market’ for two days from September 5th to 6th at the Ongjin County Office Padowo Square ahead of the nation’s biggest holiday, Chuseok.

At this direct transaction market, fresh agricultural products such as grapes, zucchinis, mushrooms, and red pepper powder, as well as various marine products such as seaweed, kelp, tangle, and anchovy sauce, as well as local specialties of the island, will be sold. In addition, in the nearby area (Michuhol-gu) where the direct transaction market is held, a service will be operated to deliver purchased products to their homes, to increase convenience for consumers.

In addition to selling agricultural and marine products, the direct transaction market will also host various side events. In particular, various activities such as the ‘Happy Knitting Love’ experience booth and promotion of the hometown love donation system will be held.

A military official said, “This market will be a great opportunity to directly trade Ongjin’s clean agricultural and marine products, which are known for their excellent taste and quality, with producers on the seven islands.” He added, “We will be selling a limited number of products for a short period of time, so we ask for your interest.”
