Hosting a business seminar inviting experts to discover future foods

Yongin Special City (Mayor Lee Sang-il) announced on the 25th that it held an expert invitation business seminar aimed at discovering future food sources at the City Hall Convention Hall on the 23rd. Approximately 80 employees from the city and collaborating organizations attended the event, discussing future new industry development plans such as semiconductors, advanced mobility, and hydrogen infrastructure, and increasing understanding of new industry fields through lectures by related experts.

Yongin Special City held a seminar for experts in various new industries on the 23rd at the City Hall Convention Hall to discover future growth engines. Approximately 80 employees from the Future City Planning Department, Yongin City Corporation, Yongin City Research Institute, and other collaborating organizations attended the event.

This seminar was organized to build a close cooperative relationship between the city and its partner organizations, with the goal of discovering future growth engines such as semiconductors, advanced mobility, and hydrogen infrastructure that will become key driving forces for the city’s development.

The event was centered around expert lectures. Choi Kyung-soo, head of the Electrical and Electronic Research Center at the Korea Testing & Research Institute for Chemical Industry, gave a presentation on the topic of “Current status of semiconductor infrastructure construction projects and future plans,” explaining the semiconductor R&D test evaluation demonstration center currently underway in the Yongin Semiconductor Cluster General Industrial Complex and the future industry technology support infrastructure construction project, and continued the related discussions.

Next, Professor Kim Hyeon-myeong of Myongji University gave a lecture on the topic of ‘Advanced Mobility Utilization Strategy for Semiconductor Renaissance in Yongin Special City’ to help understand the future mobility business.

In addition, Director Song Hyeong-un of the Advanced Institute of Science and Technology gave a presentation on the topic of ‘Hydrogen, an eco-friendly energy for the future’ and the measures that Yongin Special City should pursue to achieve carbon neutrality.

Afterwards, staff from the city and its partner organizations had time to discuss growth plans for each topic presented and the city’s future growth strategy issues.

City officials said, “Through this seminar, we will continue to provide opportunities to develop expertise in various ways so that the employees of the Future Growth Strategy Bureau, who will discover the city’s future food sources and prepare various policies, can continuously improve their work capabilities.”
