Uijeongbu City (Mayor Kim Dong-geun) conducted the ‘2024 Ulchi Exercise-linked Air Raid Civil Defense Training’ on August 22 to establish an emergency preparedness posture. This training began at 2:00 PM assuming an air raid warning situation, and when the warning siren sounded, citizens quickly moved to shelters or underground spaces of nearby buildings under the guidance of evacuation guides.

The training was designed to go beyond simple evacuation, and to allow citizens to participate in emergency preparedness national action guidelines and life safety education such as CPR. Through this, the focus was placed on improving practical crisis response capabilities.

In particular, at the E-Mart Uijeongbu branch, a multi-use facility evacuation drill was conducted with the participation of private experts. Employees and customers quickly evacuated to the underground store, and were trained on the location of nearby shelters and emergency action procedures. This was an important measure to strengthen the emergency response system in large facilities.

Mayor Kim Dong-geun said, “The resident evacuation training was conducted in an emergency situation atmosphere created through virtual machine operation, vehicle movement control training, and actual emergency vehicle operation training,” and evaluated that “this training achieved results that allowed us to further strengthen our emergency preparedness posture.”

This training was a civil defense training linked to the Ulchi exercise, and played an important role in strengthening the safety of citizens and the emergency preparedness of Uijeongbu City.
