Uijeongbu City Jageum-dong Community Center (Director Kim Byeong-seon) announced on August 23 that the peer counseling club at Cheonbo Middle School donated 100,000 won to help low-income families. This donation was made by selling crops that the club members had carefully grown and harvested in the school garden, making it even more meaningful in that the students worked together to practice service and sharing.

A student from the club who participated in this donation said, “I am very happy to be able to sell the vegetables I grew in the garden with my friends and use the proceeds for a good cause,” and added, “Although it is a small amount, I hope it will be of some help to those in need.”

Kim Byeong-seon, the head of the fund, said, “I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the students who practiced sharing to help their neighbors, and I will make sure that the students’ warm hearts are conveyed to those in need.”

The money donated by the students will be delivered to the Community Chest of Korea and used to help neighbors in need. This donation activity is an exemplary case of youth voluntarily practicing sharing, and has warmly touched the local community.
