‘Hanbok Festival’ to Support Wildfire Victims

On June 10, 2025, the outdoor stage of WMU Boon Valley in Buroon-myeon, Wonju-si will host a special event: the “Hanbok Festival” to raise funds for victims of devastating wildfires. This meaningful festival combines the beauty of Korea’s traditional attire with a global message of peace and compassion for those in need.

Co-hosted by World Miss University (WMU) and the World Senior Peace Volunteer Delegation, the event is a collaborative effort involving the World University Student Peace Volunteer Corps and the World Senior Peace Volunteer Delegation. A total of 86 participants, including WMU finalists and senior peace volunteers from around the world, are set to take the stage.

Starting at 5:00 PM, the festival features a traditional hanbok parade, global cultural dress showcases, and the delivery of heartfelt messages for peace. The K-Royal Hanbok Association, a supporting organization, will highlight the elegance of Korea’s traditional clothing through a high-quality presentation.

More than just a fashion show, this event aims to bring together different generations in a collective gesture of humanitarian aid for wildfire victims. It is a celebration of traditional culture intertwined with a deep sense of empathy and global unity.
