This survey will be conducted every three years starting in 2021, and will be used as basic data necessary for establishing policies to help households settle down stably by identifying the characteristics and needs of households returning to farming and rural areas. The survey results are scheduled to be announced in December of this year.

The subjects of the survey are household members aged 19 or older who have lived in another city or county for more than one year according to their resident registration and then moved to Changnyeong-gun in the past three years (January 1, 2021 to December 31, 2023).

The survey items include basic personal information such as type of residence, gender, date of birth, reasons for deciding to return to farming or rural areas, and overall satisfaction evaluation.

The survey is conducted through interviews in which the researcher visits households in person, and a self-administered survey is also conducted in which respondents fill out the survey themselves.

Collected personal data is thoroughly protected in accordance with the Statistics Act and will not be used for any purpose other than compiling statistics.

A Changnyeong County official said, “This survey will serve as important basic data for establishing policies related to households returning to farming and rural areas and the influx of people,” and asked for “active cooperation so that the surveyors can conduct an accurate survey when they visit.”
