Baekryeong-myeon, Ongjin-gun (head of the township, Lim Sang-hun) announced that it successfully conducted an actual resident evacuation drill as part of the nationwide simultaneous civil defense training on August 22.

The training began with the air raid warning at 2 p.m., and residents quickly moved to nearby shelters, where they listened to emergency national action guidelines via radio within the shelters for 15 minutes. About 50 residents and 30 police, fire, and Marine Corps personnel participated in the 3·5 shelters located in Jincheon-ri, Baekryeong-myeon.

After the evacuation, security training and chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear training from the 6th Marine Brigade and CPR training from the 119 Safety Center were conducted, and residents also had time to experience emergency food provided at the shelter.

Baekryeong-myeon inspected 29 shelters in Baekryeong-do in advance for this evacuation training and actively sought cooperation through consultations with relevant organizations. In addition, they requested that the civilian shelter managers in each village open the shelter doors in advance to ensure smooth progress of the training.
