Uiwang City (Mayor Kim Seong-je) will begin accepting applications for the second half of the year’s youth employment activity support grant program from September 2 to November 29. This program, which was first implemented in July of last year, was designed to reduce the burden of job-seeking expenses for young people, and previously provided up to 1 million won per person in local currency.

However, starting from the second half of this year, the support method will be changed to cash payment. This is to help young people freely prepare for customized job activities such as attending academy classes or job consulting. Given that the demand for local currency was limited to Uiwang City and its utilization was low, this change will provide young people with a wider range of options.

In addition, the scope of support has been expanded, and the existing condition of having to have passed more than 2 years since graduating from the final school has been removed. Support items include certification examination fees, academy fees, textbook purchase fees, employment consulting fees, resume editing fees, hair and makeup fees for interviews, and employment preparation space usage fees.

Kim Seong-je, the mayor of Uiwang, encouraged the active participation of young people, saying, “As this project expands, I hope that more young people will benefit and that it will be of great help in their social advancement.”
