Interagency meeting held to prevent child abuse and promote rights

On August 21, Gunpo City Child Protection Agency (Director Kim Ki-young) held a meeting with Gunpo City Daham Together Care Center to prevent child abuse and promote children’s rights. This meeting was held to recognize the seriousness of the child abuse problem and to seek ways for cooperation between organizations to prevent it.

The meeting was attended by the heads of the main branches of the Dahamkke Dolbom Center, including the Forest Bandi Branch, Okcheon Village Branch, Gunpo 1-dong Branch, Sanbon 2-dong Branch, Geumgang Pentarium 3rd Branch, Family Center Branch, and Songbu Integrated Welfare Center. They shared child abuse prevention projects and child rights protection activities being carried out at each institution, and discussed various programs to support the psychological stability of children.

In particular, the ‘Pizza My Heart’ educational program developed by Good Neighbors was introduced and attracted great interest. This program is designed to help children express their emotions and achieve psychological recovery, and is expected to be utilized in various institutions in Gunpo City in the future.

Kim Ki-young, the director of Gunpo City Child Protection Agency, said, “I would like to thank everyone who is working hard to prevent child abuse and promote children’s rights in Gunpo City,” and “We will continue to work with Good Neighbors to further strengthen child rights education and abuse prevention education.”

Meanwhile, Kim Min-jeong, the director of the Dahamkke Dolbom Center, said, “We will work with Gunpo City Child Protection Specialist Organizations to ensure that children can grow up in a safe and happy environment.” This meeting is considered a great achievement as it allowed various child protection-related organizations in Gunpo City to work closely together and devise specific measures to prevent child abuse and promote rights.

Gunpo City Child Protection Agency plans to continue to take the lead in solving various problems in the community so that children in Gunpo City can grow up safely. We plan to continue to work with the government, local governments, companies, and organizations to protect and promote children’s rights.
