On August 14, 2024, the Eco Bag of the Gyeongyang-gu Youth Training Center Environmental Volunteer Group held a beach cleanup event called ‘Beach Coming’ at Eulwangni Beach. This activity was part of an ongoing effort to maintain clean beaches and contribute to the protection of the local community and the global environment.

The Eco Bag Group under the Youth Training Center organized an event to collect beach debris and trash. Participants focused on removing various types of trash, including plastic and other debris that pollute the marine environment. Their efforts were motivated by a strong sense of responsibility to preserve nature and the community.

A young volunteer who participated in the event said, “It was a little difficult because of the hot weather, but it was satisfying to see the beautiful beach gradually becoming cleaner.” Another participant said, “I saw a lot of cigarette butts left on the roadside. I hope that the anti-smoking campaign will continue along with the environmental campaign in the future.”

The event also provided participants with an opportunity to reflect on their own role in protecting the environment. Many of them expressed their continued concern for the environment, especially the marine ecosystem, and pledged to continue to work to keep their surroundings clean.

The Eco Bag Volunteer Group continues to play a vital role in promoting environmental responsibility among the youth of Gyeyang-gu. Through activities such as this beach cleanup, they actively work to preserve the local environment and raise awareness of the importance of environmental sustainability.
