Jung-gu, led by Mayor Kim Gil-seong, has opened the ‘Jung-gu Video Production Support Center’ equipped with a studio, editing room, and various filming tools. The center is currently in a free trial phase from August 19 to October 4, allowing residents to produce and edit video content for free.

In an era where anyone can become a video creator, Jung-gu has taken a step further by opening the Jung-gu Video Production Support Center. Located on the 9th floor of Cosmo Tower near Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP), the center is equipped with various professional filming equipment such as camcorders, tripods, wireless microphones, lighting, and projection screens. It is a facility that supports media production activities and can be used by residents, students, office workers, and merchants living in Jung-gu.
The center is currently offering a free trial period from August 19 to October 4, with teams able to use the facility for up to three hours free of charge. During this period, users are encouraged to upload photos or videos of their sessions to their personal social media accounts along with a satisfaction survey. As a bonus, 20 participants will be selected to receive coffee gift cards.
The center is open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekdays, and users must make a reservation at least one day in advance through the Seoul City Public Service Reservation System. After the experience period ends, the center charges a small usage fee.
The goal is to ease the financial burden of video production and help build a local media ecosystem. The initiative is particularly useful for small businesses and local merchants who can use the center for live broadcasts, product photography, and promotional videos to drive online sales.
Mayor Kim Gil-seong emphasized the importance of user feedback during the pilot operation period, saying, “We plan to identify user needs and utilize them to improve facilities and operations.” He also said, “I hope that residents will utilize the free trial period to provide valuable opinions.”
The Video Production Support Center is expected to play a vital role in fostering a vibrant creative community in Jung-gu by providing professional-level equipment and facilities, and supporting the media production efforts of both individual content creators and small and medium-sized enterprises.
