Yeongdeungpo-gu (Mayor Choi Ho-kwon) announced that it will provide various services for the convenience of paying resident taxes and strengthen customized support measures for the visually impaired and foreigners. This is a measure to ensure that residents do not experience inconvenience in the tax payment process and to encourage voluntary tax payment.
August is the reporting and payment period for individual and business tax. Yeongdeungpo-gu plans to send out individual resident tax notices by mail by August 9, and then deliver mobile electronic notices by the 14th. Resident tax notices for business owners were also sent out in early August.
During this payment period, we will implement various tax payment convenience policies, especially for the socially disadvantaged, such as the elderly, the visually impaired, and foreigners. For the elderly, we have introduced a ‘large print notice’ that has doubled the font size and simplified the design of the notice. In addition, we have applied a ‘voice conversion barcode’ for the visually impaired to the notice, so that when you scan the barcode, you can hear the payment information in voice.
For foreign taxpayers, we provide guidance in eight languages, including Korean, English, Chinese, and Vietnamese, to prevent tax delinquency and encourage voluntary tax payment. In addition, we have made it possible for taxpayers to pay local taxes conveniently by enabling immediate payment through WeTax and various simple payment apps.
Yeongdeungpo-gu Mayor Choi Ho-kwon said, “Yeongdeungpo provides various services so that taxpayers can conveniently pay their local taxes. We will continue to focus on promoting taxpayer rights and protecting them by implementing tax administration that will impress residents.”
