Ongjin Cultural Center (Director Tae Dong-cheol) announced that it successfully completed the ‘Smart Cultural Life Lecture’ held for residents of Baekryeong-myeon and Daecheong-myeon on the 9th. This lecture was organized as a heat-resistant glass craft class over a total of 4 sessions with the aim of promoting cultural life for residents of island regions.
About 35 residents participated in this course, which was conducted in cooperation with Baekryeong-myeon Office and Daecheong-myeon Office. The lecture was conducted by Professor Choi Geum-hwa of the Korea National University of Fine Arts, and consisted of a process of creating mug sets, bottle sets, teapots, and jugs that can be used in real life using hand-painting techniques.
The participating residents each demonstrated their own design sense and completed a variety of works, and expressed great satisfaction at being able to create their own special works through the class.
An official from Ongjin Cultural Center said, “Due to the worsening weather, there were some difficulties in changing the course schedule, but thanks to the residents’ active cooperation, we were able to complete the first half of the course without a hitch,” and “We plan to prepare a more substantial program for the second half of the course that reflects the residents’ preferences.”
The second half of the Smart Cultural Life course will be held from September to October, and details will be announced on the Ongjin Cultural Center website and KakaoTalk channel.
