Jung-gu, Seoul has signed an agreement with Korea Electronic Finance Co., Ltd. to provide five additional parking spaces on the second floor of the Boko Seoul Myeongdong Hotel near Hoehyeon Station to local residents. Starting August 15, Jung-gu residents will be able to use the parking lot 24 hours a day for a monthly fee of 40,000 won.
Jung-gu will add a total of 55 parking spaces for residents this year through partnerships with six private parking lots, including the Boko Seoul Myeongdong Hotel. In addition, Remarkville Dongdaemun (Sindang-dong), Dongsan Building (Donghwa-dong), Ambassador Seoul Pullman Hotel (Jangchung-dong), Taekwang Industrial (Jangchung-dong), and Namsan Candle (Myeongdong) have secured new parking spaces. , providing 10 parking spaces to each resident.
Jung-gu is expanding public parking lots to solve the chronic parking problem in the old city center in the long term. In the short term, the district is encouraging private parking lots to share their space with the local community. As of August, 480 private parking spaces are available to residents across 17 areas.
A former official said, “We will continue to actively work to resolve the parking shortage by securing additional private parking lots through public-private cooperation.”
