The Korea AI Writers Association (Chairman Kim Ye-eun) held the 2nd Prompt Challenge exhibition and publication ceremony. The event was held from August 6 to 13, 2024 at the Hana Art Gallery in Ssamzigil, Insa-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul.
The 2nd Prompt Challenge Exhibition of the Korea AI Writers Association is a place to celebrate and showcase the creativity and developing technology of its members. The second event of the year, held at the Hana Art Gallery in the heart of Seoul, is a meaningful opportunity to display innovative works created in response to the challenges faced by AI writers.
Kim Ye-eun, the president of the Korea AI Writers Association, said, “Following the first season of the Prompt Challenge, the second season was successfully completed thanks to the help of many writers and VTO Rudolph. I would like to express my deepest gratitude to Gomttan and Stew for helping us create such a beautiful book. For the third season to be held in September, we have prepared a program to find a scent that matches your flower language, personal color, and image under the theme of ‘Finding My Fragrance.’ We ask for your interest and participation in the third season as well.”
The Korean AI Writers Association aims to keep its members at the forefront of AI-based creativity by publishing the works produced in the 2nd Prompt Challenge. The association’s efforts focus on fostering the talent development of its members so that they are well-prepared for the rapidly evolving AI-based creative industry environment.
Kim Min-jeong, a sketch artist, participated in the second volume, following the first volume, which she participated in clumsily out of curiosity. As the saying goes, the first time is difficult, but the second time is easy, so this time I got used to the prompts a bit and enjoyed it. On the other hand, I think I worried a bit more and was less creative. I was envious and regretful when I saw other artists’ works. If there is a third volume, I would like to go back to being a beginner and work hard with all my heart. I hope that someday I can be of help to others. I would like to express my gratitude to the chairman and Stew, who took care of everything I was not good at, such as editing and publishing, until the book was published, and to Rudolph, who made me laugh every now and then with his quick wit, as well as to all the artists who supported me.
Seo Yu-mi, the artist of Ja-deung, has already finished the second season of From Challenge 25. She is infinitely grateful to the Korea AI Artists Association for growing from Neon to Ja-deung and drawing her own pictures. Thanks to the precious teachings of Ye-eun, the clear encouragement and consolation of Dol-ppu, the warm advice and support of Stew, and the diverse artists who have been with her since the first season, she was able to enjoy her second long-term healing trip through the four seasons and was so happy… I love you^^ See you in the third season!!
Kim Jeong-gyun, the writer of Sigorjabjong, said, “This prompt challenge was a time for me to hone my artistic skills so that I could express the subject matter of my work, ‘nostalgia,’ in various ways. I would also like to thank other writers and the challenge organizers for giving me the opportunity to grow together. As the saying goes, ‘If you want to go far, you have to go together,’ I hope to sail further with the Korean AI Writers Association and the writers.”
Lee Joo-hyun, Linky writer, expressed the symbiotic relationship between giraffes and birds using stained glass in the second prompt challenge. She was surprised that stained glass, which is not easy to convey with graphic images, could be easily expressed with generative AI. She said that she learned how to implement generative AI in the first prompt challenge, and enjoyed exploring ways to express details in the second prompt challenge. She expressed her gratitude to all the writers and management who participated in the challenge.
Jeong Jin-hee, a small writer, said, “After the first season of the trip, which started off hectic, the second season, which went through all four seasons, has already ended. Although I still have a lot to learn and a lot of shortcomings, I sincerely thank the second season members who made the same season so fantastic. In particular, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to Teacher Stew, who worked so hard until the end, and I would also like to express my sincere gratitude to Teacher Ye-eun, Rudolph, and Toto for their encouragement and support.”
An Soon-young, the writer of Annie Young, said, “This second round of the Prompt Challenge was a process of learning various styles and techniques in detail. I was also able to experience broadening my perspective by participating together. I would like to thank Rudolph, the CEO, Stew, and Totoji for cheering me on. I would also like to thank everyone who participated together.”
In the second prompt challenge, writer Yu-kyung Choi of Nika Lane expressed the warmth of spring through her work titled <Cat, Bird, and Tree> with the theme of spring, challenging a new stained glass prompt technique for the first time. In the second prompt challenge, she explored prompts with various techniques with the theme of the four seasons, and learned new and diverse ways to use prompts, following the first prompt. She expressed her gratitude to the management and writers who participated in the challenge and hoped that this challenge would continue.
Writer Lee Seong-mi finished season 2 following season 1. In season 2, I feel like I’ve grown again as I was taught techniques appropriate for the season. I was able to express myself more richly through various techniques, and I was so happy when I was able to express myself with unexpectedly beautiful colors. I sincerely thank the management of the Korea AI Writer Association who led me from season 1 to season 2. I hope you’ll continue to support me in seasons 3 and 4.
Open to the public until August 13, the exhibition offers visitors a glimpse into the future of creative expression where human ingenuity and AI technology converge. The accompanying publication is expected to be a valuable resource for understanding current trends and future directions in AI artistry.
