Incheon Dong-gu Culture and Sports Center (District Mayor Kim Chan-jin) announced that it will hold the <OST JAZZ CONCERT> led by the Lee Ji-yeon Jazz Orchestra at the center’s performance hall at 2 PM on August 14. This performance is the sixth stage of the <2024 Coffee Concert> series, which has become a representative performance in Incheon, and will consist of original soundtracks (OSTs) from movies and animations and original compositions by Director Lee Ji-yeon.
The ‘Lee Ji-yeon Jazz Orchestra’ has been actively performing contemporary music that crosses various genres such as jazz, classical, Korean traditional music, and pop. In particular, this orchestra has won the Best Jazz Album Award at the 15th Korean Popular Music Awards, which has raised expectations for this performance.
In this performance, you can enjoy the OSTs of Studio Ghibli’s ‘Howl’s Moving Castle’, ‘My Neighbor Totoro’, Marvel Studio’s ‘Iron Man’, and Director Lee Ji-yeon’s original songs with the rich sound of a 16-member jazz orchestra. The audience will experience a special time where they can feel the freedom unique to jazz and the grand musicality of a big band.
Following this performance, Donggu Cultural and Sports Center is preparing a performance by Kingston Rudiska, which will present Jamaican Ska music, in September. The eight-member Ska band will meet the audience with newly arranged music to commemorate their 20th anniversary.
<Coffee Concert> is a matinee concert held once a month on Wednesdays at 2 PM. It has been held in Dong-gu since last year due to remodeling of the Incheon Culture and Arts Center performance hall. To enjoy the coffee provided in the lobby before the performance, you must bring your own reusable personal cup. Those who do not bring their own cups can receive coffee after the performance and take it home.
The admission fee is 15,000 won for all seats, and is open to elementary school students and above. For more information, please visit the Incheon Cultural Arts Center or Dong-gu Cultural Sports Center websites.
