Operation of the 'Jjomuldak Mind Rest Area' Craft Experience Program

Incheon Metropolitan City Jung-gu Yeongjong 2-dong Community Social Security Council (Co-chairs Song Kyung-ah and Kim Ji-ho) announced on August 9 that it operated a daily craft experience program called ‘Jomuldak Mind Shelter’ for 15 households raising children with developmental delays.

This program provided children with activities to make card wallets and key rings using leather. Through this, children were able to feel the joy of making crafts and a sense of accomplishment from the results, and guardians were able to relieve stress from parenting and gain psychological stability.

Co-Chairperson of the Civilian Committee Kim Ji-ho said, “This program was a great opportunity for us to empathize and communicate with each other,” and added, “We will continue to work hard to create a Yeongjong 2-dong where we can all live together.”

A guardian of a child who participated in the program expressed high satisfaction, saying, “The children were happy and proud. I made memories with my child, and I hope there will be another good program next time.”

This ‘Jomuldak Mind Rest Area’ program was carried out with funding from Incheon International Airport Corporation’s ‘Creating a Healthy Community’ project competition, and horticultural therapy was provided to the elderly living alone in May.

Yeongjong 2-dong Community Security Council plans to continue to improve the quality of life of local residents and create a warm community where people can live together through various programs.
