Yongin Special City announced that it will recruit 10 local small and medium-sized enterprises to be certified as excellent companies in 2024 from the 13th to the 30th. This recruitment is designed to encourage small and medium-sized enterprises that have contributed to the revitalization of the local economy, and selected companies will be able to receive various benefits, such as special guarantees for small and medium-sized enterprises and exemption from local tax audits.
Yongin Special City (Mayor Lee Sang-il) announced on the 16th that it is recruiting 10 small and medium-sized enterprises to receive the ‘2024 Yongin City Excellent Company Certification’. This recruitment will be held from the 13th to the 30th, and applicants must be small and medium-sized enterprises that have operated their headquarters or factories in Yongin Special City for more than 2 years as of the announcement date.
The city has been selecting excellent companies every year to discover and support excellent small and medium-sized enterprises that have contributed to the revitalization of the local economy. This system, implemented in accordance with the ‘Yongin City Small and Medium-sized Enterprise Promotion and Support Ordinance’, aims to promote the management activities of small and medium-sized enterprises in the region and promote economic growth.
Companies selected as excellent companies can enjoy various benefits for three years. Major benefits include special guarantees and secondary security support for small and medium-sized enterprises, preferential points for various support projects, 50% discount on parking fees at public parking lots in Yongin Special City, and a three-year grace period for local tax audits.
Companies wishing to apply can apply through the Yongin City Enterprise Support System (https://ybs.ypa.or.kr). The city plans to evaluate the business performance, technology quality management, labor welfare, and contribution to the local community of the companies that applied. The process will consist of document review and on-site inspection, and the 10 companies that are finally selected will be awarded a certificate in November.
City officials said, “We hope that many companies will participate in this excellent company certification to boost the morale of small and medium-sized enterprises that are working hard for the local economy even amid difficult domestic and international business environments,” and emphasized, “We will continue to establish practical and effective support policies for small and medium-sized enterprises, which are the foundation of the local economy.”
