On the 7th, the Uiwang Urban Development Corporation Baekun Community Center, in cooperation with the Uiwang Fire Department, successfully held a ‘One-Day CPR Class’ for local residents and users of the Baekun Community Center. This training was designed to inform the public of the importance of CPR, which can save lives in situations where the heart has stopped, and to cultivate practical first aid skills.
CPR is an emergency treatment that artificially circulates blood and helps breathing when the heart stops. It can greatly increase the chance of survival if it is performed within the so-called golden time of 4 minutes. About 30 people including local residents, users of sports facilities, elementary school students, and employees of Uiwang City Corporation attended this class and learned CPR theory and practice to improve their ability to prepare for actual emergency situations.
Kwon Hyuk-cheon, acting president of Uiwang Urban Development Corporation, said, “I hope that through this training, many people realized the importance of CPR and learned valuable skills that could save someone’s life in an actual emergency situation.” He added, “I would like to thank the Uiwang Fire Department for conducting the training and everyone who actively participated in the training.” He continued, “Uiwang Urban Development Corporation plans to continue operating various programs to protect the safety and health of local residents.”
