Seongnam City (Mayor Shin Sang-jin) announced that it will accept applications for the ‘2024 Home-Children’s Healthy Fruit Supply Project’ until September 27. This project aims to provide fresh seasonal fruits to preschool children who do not attend kindergartens or daycare centers and are cared for at home, thereby forming healthy eating habits and promoting children’s health.
Seongnam City is accepting applications for the 2024 Home Childcare Healthy Fruit Supply Project until September 27. This project aims to improve children’s eating habits and promote health by providing fresh seasonal fruits to preschool children who are being cared for at home. Children attending kindergartens or daycare centers are already receiving fruits through the relevant institutions, so children receiving home childcare are the main target of this project.
The target of support is preschool children who live in Seongnam City and receive a home care allowance or parental allowance (cash). The application process is simple. Parents or guardians of children can apply online at Gyeonggi Civil Service 24 (https://gg24.gg.go.kr), or they can visit the administrative welfare center of their residence and apply in person.
After the application is completed, the recipients will be confirmed on October 10. The selected home-based children will receive fruit packages worth 67,000 won twice from the end of October to December. This is expected to not only help children grow and develop healthily, but also contribute to increasing the income of local fruit farmers.
Seongnam City is investing a total budget of 2.28192 billion won this year to provide seasonal fruit snacks not only to children receiving home care, but also to 34,644 children attending 665 daycare centers and kindergartens.
Seongnam City officials said, “We expect that this home-based childcare healthy fruit support project will help children develop healthy eating habits and have a positive impact on local fruit farms.”
