Yeongdeungpo-gu (Mayor Choi Ho-kwon) has been selected for the Ministry of Education’s ‘2024 School Complex Facility 2nd Competition’ project, and is accelerating the construction of a school complex facility befitting the status of Yeongdeungpo as a future education city.
This school complex will be located at 4961 Singil-dong , and will be built on a total floor area of 4,730㎡ (approximately 1,400 pyeong) from the 2nd basement floor to the 3rd floor above ground . This facility will be an integrated space for all generations, including students and local residents, and will be equipped with various educational, cultural, sports, and welfare facilities .
Yeongdeungpo-gu signed a business agreement with the Seoul Southern Office of Education for this project, and through continuous collaboration, achieved the result of being selected for the public contest. This project aims to provide necessary public education and sports facilities to residents by utilizing the Singil-dong site that was received as a donation site.
In particular, the facility will include an indoor gymnasium and swimming pool , a program room linked to care education, and a multipurpose room. These spaces will serve as a local community hub that can be freely used by all ages. In addition, an indoor swimming pool where ‘survival swimming’ education can be taught will be built in the basement of the children’s park, providing a spacious and comfortable environment.
Yeongdeungpo-gu District Mayor Choi Ho-kwon said, “With this public offering selection, we have secured stable project funds, making it possible to build a school complex facility for both students and local residents,” and added, “We will do our best to realize Yeongdeungpo-gu as a future education city.”
This project aims to hold a design competition in 2026, begin construction in 2027, and be completed in December 2028.
