The Nokyang-dong Community Center (Director Choi Gwang-gyu) in Uijeongbu City announced that the Nokyang-dong Community Security Council (Chairperson Jeong Yeon-sook) successfully completed the ‘Happy Box Delivery’ event on August 21st, where they checked on the well-being of low-income elderly households and delivered items. This event is a special project of the Nokyang-dong branch council designed for low-income households in need of care, and supports neighbors in desperate need of care in the community.
This Happy Box delivery was made possible with the support of Gusim Oriental Medicine Clinic (Director Choi Won-jip), a co-sponsoring organization of the ‘Nokyang Onjeong Care Supporters’. Gusim Oriental Medicine Clinic sponsors five sets of handmade Ssanghwatang every month, and through this, visits households of elderly people living alone to check on their well-being and deliver supplies. These activities are providing practical help to the health and lives of the elderly with the warm interest and support of the local community.
Chairwoman Jeong Yeon-sook said, “It is very meaningful to be able to deliver handmade Ssanghwatang Happy Boxes sponsored by Gusimhan Hospital to elderly people living alone who need community care, and to be able to directly check on their health.”
Dongjang Choi Gwang-gyu said, “I would like to express my deep gratitude to Gusim Oriental Medical Clinic for their continuous support for the health of low-income elderly households, and to Nokyang-dong Community Social Security Council for personally checking on them and delivering Happy Boxes,” adding, “We will do our best to discover and support our neighbors in welfare crisis.”
Meanwhile, the Nokyang-dong Health and Welfare Team has completed recruiting 32 organizations for sponsorship and welfare cooperation as warm-hearted care supporters, and is providing customized sponsorship services in various fields such as livelihood, medical care, education, and culture. This cooperation activity is operated as part of the ‘Together Warm-hearted Care’ project, and organizations and businesses that want to help neighbors in welfare blind spots can contact the Nokyang-dong Health and Welfare Team (031-870-7112).
