Siheung City (Mayor Lim Byeong-taek) is receiving attention from outdoor advertising business operators, the general public, and local government officials nationwide by releasing an educational video on outdoor advertising this year, following last year.
Last year, we produced a promotional video on the topic of ‘Understanding Outdoor Advertisement Law’ and this year, we produced a promotional video on ‘Outdoor Advertisement Case Studies and General Installation Procedures’ and released it on YouTube.
According to Siheung City statistics, 77% of all signs are unqualified signs, and the need for management of outdoor advertisements has increased. In particular, in a situation where administrative order needs to be established, it is urgent to provide guidance on procedures to outdoor advertisement business operators and business owners who want to install new signs.
In this situation, this video is expected to be of great help in preventing the installation of illegal signs as it explains the definition, types, general installation procedures, and precautions of outdoor advertisements in a way that anyone can easily understand.
An outdoor advertising business owner with 30 years of experience said, “I used to avoid getting permits and reports because the sign installation process was difficult and complicated, and installed signs illegally. After watching this video, I realized the importance of the administrative process for sign installation, and I pledged that from now on, I will install advertisements only after consulting with city officials in advance.”
Park Jeong-heon, head of the Siheung City Landscape Design Division, said, “I hope that through this educational video, we can prevent the indiscriminate installation of illegal advertisements and make all citizens aware that only legally installed outdoor advertisements can undergo regular safety inspections.”
You can watch the video by searching for the YouTube channel name ‘Siheung City Landscape Design Department’.
