The Incheon Metropolitan City Gyeyang-gu Mayor announced that Chairman Yoon Hwan will hold a general meeting of residents of 12 local governments in September 2024 for one month. The proposed projects will be planned and prioritized through the resident participation budget.

Local autonomous organizations are established to promote resident-centered local autonomy. Their core role is to establish plans for community development and to seek solutions to local problems through resident participation.

The regular general meeting will vote to approve the next year’s self-government plan and allocate funds for participatory budgeting projects. This process allows communities to actively influence how resources are used and ensure that their most pressing local needs are addressed.

Various community members, including residents, local workers, organization executives, and students, can participate in the general meeting vote. In addition to direct voting during the residents’ meeting, Gyeyang-gu plans to maximize participation by conducting in-person voting and online advance voting.

Online voter registration for the current general election is now open, and those interested are encouraged to register by September 13, 2024. Those who wish to register can apply through the district office website or visit their local administrative welfare center for assistance.

Detailed schedules and locations for neighborhood meetings can be found on the Gyeyang-gu Office website under the ‘Citizen Participation’ section. For more information, contact your local administrative welfare center.
