Incheon City’s Namdong-gu is promoting the ‘ Namdong Street of Light ‘ project to revitalize the downtown area’s commercial district and improve nighttime scenery .
According to the district on the 27th, this year, Mansu 3 District ( Mansu -dong 1069) will be newly added as a target site, and following last year, landscape lighting and photo zones will be created at Mansu Bokgaecheon Stream , Seochang 2 District roundabout , Ganseok-dong Hyangnamu Shelter , and Aehyang Children’s Park .
To this end, a residents’ meeting regarding the ‘ Namdong Street of Light ‘ project was held with the attendance of the Guwol 4 -dong , Mansu 5- dong , and Mansu 6 -dong residents’ autonomous councils , merchants’ associations , and neighborhood chief councils .
The district explained the project to residents regarding the night view facilities to be installed in Mansu District 3 and Mansucheon and exchanged various opinions with residents about the direction of the project .
At the meeting, it was suggested that ‘ landscape facilities that are good to see during the day be installed ‘ and ‘ maintenance be thoroughly carried out even after installation ‘ .
Additionally , there were opinions such as, ‘ Installing night views will help make the street a place people want to walk at night . ‘
The district plans to further strengthen its cultural content by reflecting the opinions of residents, creating night views and photo zones that highlight the characteristics of each region, and hosting cultural performances such as lighting ceremonies and busking .
Mayor Park Jong-hyo said , “ We will do our best to reflect the valuable opinions of residents ,” and added , “ We will do our best to successfully promote the Namdong Street of Light Festival, providing residents with opportunities to enjoy nighttime culture and helping to revitalize the local commercial district . ”
Meanwhile , the ‘ Namdong Street of Light ‘ will begin in October with the lighting of nighttime landscape facilities in Mansucheon and Mansu District 3 and cultural performances with residents, followed by Ganseok-dong and Seochang-dong .
