Uijeongbu City (Mayor Kim Dong-geun) conducted a ‘comprehensive investigation of lighting facilities’ to ensure the safety of drivers using the roads at night in preparation for the upcoming Chuseok holiday. The 11km section from Gyeongmin Square Intersection to Howon Overpass in the west was inspected, and approximately 430 road lighting facilities within the section were inspected.
This comprehensive survey was conducted day and night, and especially focused on repairing facilities that were not lit due to old underground lines. To this end, the city divided the area into two regions, Heungseon and Howon, and checked for leakage through insulation resistance measurements, and thoroughly checked the condition of the lines and the control status of the distribution boxes.
In addition, streetlight maintenance work was carried out by checking the on/off status of lighting facilities through night patrols. All of these measures are to ensure that visitors to Uijeongbu City for the holidays can use the roads safely and comfortably even at night.
Uijeongbu Mayor Kim Dong-geun said, “We will do our best to ensure that citizens can enjoy the Chuseok holiday safely and comfortably through continuous inspection and maintenance of road lighting facilities.”
Uijeongbu City plans to continue to inspect road lighting facilities until the Chuseok holiday, and through this, actively support citizens’ safe journey home.
