Yongin Special City Cheoin-gu Public Health Center is operating a Korean medicine health promotion program for vulnerable children and adolescents admitted to Namsa-eup Good Samaritan Center. This program is conducted during the summer vacation period and is contributing to the formation of healthy lifestyle habits in children.
Yongin Special City Cheoin-gu Health Center announced on the 15th that it is operating the ‘Children and Adolescents Lifelong Health Creation Program’ to manage the health of children and adolescents admitted to Good Samaritan Center located in Namsa-eup. This program was designed to provide customized health promotion education to vulnerable children during the summer vacation period to improve their physical and emotional health.
Good Samaritan Center is a social welfare corporation that operates rehabilitation support programs including physical health management and emotional therapy for children admitted due to problems such as broken families. The organization provides various programs to help children increase their self-esteem and become independent after leaving the center.
The Cheoin-gu Health Center operated various programs five times during this summer vacation. It included programs to help children form healthy living habits, such as ▲Oriental medicine career experience, ▲Oriental medicine growth clinic, ▲Smoking and drinking education, ▲Hand washing and food poisoning prevention education. Through this program, children learned health management methods using oriental medicine and had the opportunity to form lifelong healthy habits.
A Good Samaritan official said, “Thanks to the educational program, the children admitted to the center achieved good results in the national sports competition,” and added, “This program was a great help in healing the children’s wounds and raising their self-esteem.”
An official from the Cheoin-gu Health Center said, “We created this program to help children develop healthy lifestyle habits,” and added, “We will continue to seek ways to provide a variety of health promotion programs for children and adolescents in the region.”
