2024 Citizen-led Creative Film Festival 'Plastic Surgery Heaven' Free Screening

Seongnam City announced that the creative film ‘Plastic Surgery Heaven’ will be screened for free as part of the ‘2024 Citizens’ Creative Film Festival’ at the Seongnam Arts Center Ensemble Theater on September 8, 2024. The film criticizes modern society’s lookism and is free to watch. Tickets will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis from 4 p.m. on the day of the event.

Seongnam City will screen the creative film ‘Plastic Surgery Heaven’ for free as part of the ‘2024 Citizens’ Creative Film Festival’ at the Seongnam Arts Center Ensemble Theater on Sunday, September 8 at 5 PM. This film festival is hosted and organized by the Seongnam Branch of the Korean Art and Culture Federation and the Seongnam Branch of the Federation of Korean Film Artists, and sponsored by Seongnam City and the Seongnam Cultural Foundation.

‘Plastic Surgery Heaven’ contains content that criticizes modern society where lookism is rampant. The film depicts the process in which a woman who was ignored by society due to her ugly appearance takes revenge by becoming beautiful through plastic surgery. This work is expected to deliver a strong message to the audience by presenting a critical view of the social trend that values only appearance, beyond a simple revenge story.

This film screening is free for all Seongnam citizens, and is open to those aged 5 and older. Tickets will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis at the Seongnam Arts Center Ensemble Theater Ticket Box starting at 4 p.m. on September 8, the day of the screening. Due to the first-come, first-served distribution system, early arrivals will be given priority for admission.

Seongnam City expects that this film festival will provide citizens with an opportunity to think about various problems in modern society while watching creative films. It also expressed hope that this cultural event will provide an opportunity for Seongnam citizens to become more familiar with films and cultural arts.
