Gwangjin-gu will be hosting the ‘ 4th Hwayangyeonhwa Beer Festival ‘ on August 27th at Hwayang Jeil Golmok Market . Hwayang Jeil Golmok Market is a traditional market that opened in the early 1980s . It has around 80 stores and is located near Konkuk University, making it one of the markets with many visitors in their 20s and 30s . Against this backdrop, Gwangjin-gu and Hwayang Jeil Market Merchants’ Association have successfully hosted the beer festival under the theme of Hwayangyeonhwa this year, following last year . ‘ Hwayangyeonhwa ‘ means the most beautiful and happiest moment in life .

The festival will be held on the main street of Hwayang Jeil Golmok Market from 5 PM to 11 PM on the 27th , and will feature a variety of events such as beer drinking competitions , quiz competitions , and prize draws, along with beer booths . The plan is to provide a variety of entertainment and food for visitors to the event .

Gwangjin-gu plans to establish a thorough safety management network, including deploying safety personnel throughout the event site and installing evacuation guidance signs to prevent accidents on the day of the event .

Kim Gyeong-ho, the mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, “ We prepared this festival with more meaningful content for residents who are tired from the prolonged heat ,” and added , “ I hope that many people will visit the Hwayangyeonhwa Beer Festival, forget the heat for a while, and spend a happy summer night with their families and neighbors . ”
