Various events are held throughout the region to create a city that is good to live in.

Yongin Special City (Mayor Lee Sang-il) announced on the 25th that local resident groups have been carrying out various activities for citizens over the past week. Various events and projects such as signing agreements, improving living environments, resident participation competitions, and civil complaint response training were carried out in various areas including Yeokbuk-dong, Singal-dong, Wonsam-myeon, Jukjeon 3-dong, and Samga-dong, contributing to creating a city that is good to live in.

Various events were held in Cheoin-gu, Giheung-gu, and Suji-gu of Yongin Special City to improve the quality of life of local residents.

The Cheoin-gu Yeokbuk-dong Community Security Council (Chairman Mok In-seok) signed a business agreement with BHC Chicken Yeokbuk Branch (CEO Kim Joo-ha) on the 21st to provide chicken every month for one year to 20 single-parent families and elderly people living alone in need. CEO Kim Joo-ha said, “I am happy to be able to practice even a small act of sharing,” and expressed his intention to actively participate in helping needy neighbors in the region in the future.

On the 20th, Singal-dong, Giheung-gu signed an agreement with the Yongin City Family Center (Director Lee Su-hee) and began a crisis family case management project. With this agreement, Singal-dong and the Yongin City Family Center will cooperate so that families experiencing economic and social difficulties can receive continuous counseling and support to solve their problems. Park Eun-sook, the head of Singal-dong, said, “We will establish a community protection system through a public-private cooperation network.”

On the 21st, the Community Security Council (Chairman Lim Byeong-gwon) and the Wonsam Rotary Club (President Lee Jang-gi) worked together to improve the living environment of the elderly. Council members and Rotary Club members cleaned up the surrounding environment by cutting branches and weeding the roof of the elderly home. A council official said, “We are grateful to the Rotary Club members who volunteered even in the hot weather.”

The Suji-gu Jukjeon 3-dong Community Security Council (Chairman Han Eui-dong) held a mini table tennis competition called ‘Health Rides Ping-Pong’ on the 23rd. This program is part of a village welfare project that provides middle-aged and elderly single-person households with an opportunity to learn table tennis systematically, thereby improving their exercise ability and instilling vitality in their lives. The competition was a place to showcase the results of five months of instruction and practice, and various prizes such as butcher shop and coffee coupons were given to participants. Chairman Han Eui-dong said, “I hope that residents had a good time exercising together.”

On the 20th, Samga-dong, Cheoin-gu conducted emergency response training at the civil service office with 13 employees and security personnel. This training was conducted to protect the safety of civil service staff and visiting civil service applicants, and was conducted step by step assuming situations according to the special civil service response manual. Samga-dong Mayor Lee Sang-sook said, “We will create a civil service office where civil service can be processed in a safe environment.”

In this way, each region of Yongin Special City is working to improve the living environment and safety of local residents through various agreements, events, and projects.
