Additional support for elementary, middle, and high school entrance preparation funds

Yongin Special City announced on the 26th that it will be accepting additional applications from households with children in the first year of elementary, middle, or high school who have not yet received the school entrance preparation fund. This additional support will be available from September 2 to 20 through the Government 24 website, and the grant will be paid in local currency.

Yongin Special City (Mayor Lee Sang-il) is providing admission preparation funds to approximately 32,000 first-year elementary, middle, and high school students this year to ease the financial burden on families with children entering their first year of school. The city has already provided support funds to approximately 23,000 people in the first half of the year, but it has been found that some families have not yet received the benefits.

Accordingly, the city is accepting additional applications from new students who were unable to apply in the first half of the year or who transferred to Yongin Special City from other regions or overseas, and students who will be entering alternative schools or other non-school institutions in the second half of the year. Additional applications can be made from September 2 to 20 through the Government 24 (Subsidy 24) website, and each new student will receive 100,000 won in admission preparation funds through Yongin Wi-Pay in the name of their parents or guardians.

If the addresses of the parents and the child are different, they must visit the administrative welfare center in the town, township, or neighborhood of the child’s address to apply. A city official said, “We are providing admission support funds to ease the financial burden on families with new students, so we hope that citizens who are eligible for support will apply by the deadline.” He also emphasized, “The local currency provided as admission preparation funds will lead to increased sales for small businesses in the region, which will invigorate the Yongin community.”
