Uiwang City will be accepting applications for the 2024 3rd quarter youth basic income from August 29 to September 30. The youth basic income is a system that provides 250,000 won per quarter, or 1 million won per year, to 24-year-old youth regardless of income or employment status to guarantee the social basic rights of young people.
The target of this quarter’s application is a 24-year-old youth born between July 2, 1999 and July 1, 2000 who is registered as a resident of Uiwang City as of the date of application. However, the requirement of having resided in Gyeonggi Province for at least 3 consecutive years or a total of 10 years as of the date of application must be met.
The application method is online or via mobile after registering as a member of Gyeonggi-do’s job platform ‘Jobaba’, and existing recipients who agreed to automatic application can receive basic income without a separate application. After confirming the eligibility, the city plans to pay 250,000 won in local currency ‘Uiwang Love Gift Certificate (card type)’ from October 20. The subsidy can be used after registering the card at the Gyeonggi-do local currency customer center or through the mobile app.
A city official said, “Youth Basic Income will be useful for young people to prepare for the future and achieve their dreams. Please do not miss the application period.”
